Yeah fundamentally i disagree with this premise because what they really want is to be chased on their terms. If all they really wanted was chases survivors would LOVE to be tunneled because that means almost 100% of your gameplay is being chased then they could move on to another game.

It’s always the Aces or Neas who ‘just want to chased honest’, running an MFT build, sending you to a map, doing the ‘come here’ emote 24/7 and spamming noise notifications, and then you down them a bit too quickly for their liking and they DC

Sounds like the issue is that the most entertaining aspect is the secondary part of the game (chase), while the primary goal (gens v. hooks) is boring. So doing the fun thing is detrimental to the primary goal. Then when one side chooses to do the primary goal it feels like they “played better” when in fact the two teams simply chose different priorities.
Indeed so. After all sometimes if you really feel like the need to sweat. You might even start relying on camping/tunneling. Even slugging. Also I'd see it rather ''(gens vs kills.)'' Not hooks. That part of dbd is long gone.
Honestly playing as killer and getting into a single chase and seeing three gens pop in the middle of that chase is so demoralizing. You are instantly put onto the back foot and a defensive position and unless you are good enough to have been able to finish the first chase super fast you are likely going to have to then tunnel or camp in or break chase in some way to create pressure. Then they get yelled at after the match for doing those things. So either get stuck into a losing match or get yelled at for doing the things people have randomly decided is not alright. My first ever game as killer in this game I barely knew how to play to the point I didn't know the lunge existed, got put into a match as wraith and 3 gens popped before I even saw a single person. So as soon as I saw someone I ran at them and managed a hook, went off until the game popped a noise and visual at me which I went back to. Being in baby killer mode I ran at the first character I saw near the hook which happened to be the same person, who I put back on a hook and that repeated until they got on death hook. By this time the gates were open and the other three were sitting outside it teabagging and so I ran at them swinging, managing to barely get one down before the last two leave and get them on the hook and stare at them as I see the entity take them off the hook since I hadn't seen that before. So managed a 2k which was neat. To then be met with a message the second the match ended with someone going off on me for tunneling.
DBD in a nutshell~ My first experience went bout the same way fam. This game till this day still plays the same, unless your Skull merchant or pinhead with 4 gens perks then your games gonna fly puttin u on the offensive/defense.. Rather u play by the rulebook or not yee gonna get yelled at or trolled, After coming back to dbd after 3months of a break the amount of games where survivors seat at the exit gate waiting till the very last sec before leaving is almost laughable I love this game but i'm back on break lmao
The problem is killers have to focus on multiple objectives while 1 survivor can focus on one objective while the others handle the other objective, which is why killer needs to be the “stronger” role cuz they have to deal with multiple objectives
I remember two matches where one Survivor was way better than me and I could not catch them. So I ignored them. The first time, the other 3 Survivors got mad at me for ignoring their best looper but, their best looper defended me by saying it made sense to ignore them if I can't catch up. The second time, I couldn't catch the best looper and saw the other 3 Survivors healing via Nurse's Calling and interrupted that instead. The Survivor who got downed again immediately DCed and got mad at me for tunneling. That Survivor who DCed didn't have that same energy when they spammed flashlight blinds & were laughing at me though. Also on the Survivor side, had a Hillbilly who DCed because their meme build wasn't getting them kills. They knew their build wasn't good for getting kills but, got mad they weren't getting a 4K and blamed it on me and the other Survivors. That Hillbilly then threw a fit and said how "next time I'll bring 4 slowdown perks , tunnel & slug on the ground for 5 minutes".
8:46 this entire point is why I don't like playing killer. The game is so horrifically survivor sided every match needs to be played insanely well just for a chance to succeed. It just isn't fun, when being the killer SHOULD be fun
Here’s a story about how me as a killer hooks a survivor and only a few seconds later they get unhooked and instead of going after the person that was just unhooked I go for the person that unhooked and was injured but guess what the guy that was just hooked was running right behind me clicking their flashlight so I immediately turned around and down them and who would have guessed that they started complaining about me tunneling
Let them complain all they want. They need to learn that 10 seconds of bt is not the same as immortality. If they throw themselves at the killer, they deserve to go down.
They could have an entity's wraith mechanic where the longer a chase, if the killer downs that survivor generators are all either halted or receive damage. It would only happen on long chase or could be based on the number of generators that get completed during that chase. But this would remove the strategy of knowing when and how long to chase.

The behavior of survivors getting overconfident or BM'ing for chases is so prevelant I started using it as an actual strategy. Find someone hungry for chases and overcommit for just a bit. Enough to get them to think they're hot shit and want more. Then they start flashlight clicking, spam vault or (I've actually had this multiple times) run directly to you. Thats 1 survivor not doing gens. Basically like you got an early kill. Then when you do a real chase they usually aren't thinking strategically and they loop horribly. Boom, easy dub. So yeah. I actually love that type of survivor. They get mad sometimes, but hey I didn't read the killer rulebook I'm here to get bloodpoints and win.

I wish they’d do more of an action based matchmaking than skill based so we play with/against players with similar play styles when it’s possible. I think that’d help with overall gen rush and chase issues at least a little bit. I also love when survivors out run you so you go down their teammates and they whine about it. Like I’m only allowed to chase and hook the survivor that has the looping build😂😂

If a survivor plays perfect, killers need to shred as many pallets as possible to create deadzones, but deadzones dont matter if you never switch targets.

For the tbaging it depends because it’s so fun going against a ghostface that you tbag all game with or just chilling out with the killer even if your playing a normal game I’ve gotten players that tbaged and I thought that was fine because they didn’t do it in a toxic way.
What I never got with the whole "just get in chase" thing is that most games the killer and survivors are taking chase? at most the killer will give up after a lil bit, or chases other people off a gen the survivor was running them to, like out of all the games I played on both sides there was only like maybe 8 or something where it was either the killer stuck on gens the whole match or survivors hiding in corners, and idk about others but i like having a bit of downtime after being chased for a long time so i can get points for gens/healing

as 2017 - 2022 killer otp that switched to survivor i agree fully with your take, however chases are the only fun thing in the game at the moment so people bming and wanting chases shouldnt be any suprise to you, being entitled tho thats other topic and survivors should know the price of not doing their main objective, i also would love to be chased for 10 hours and have 10 hook stages but thats not how the game works unfortunately Waiting for a special chase oriented game mode someday
Ah and also, as killer I try to loike chases. From time to time I even go "I'm at one gen already... okay let it be, I just go to that sweaty Nea and learn how to chase." And I WISH that survivors would understand it too. I wish after they done all gens in 7 minutes and 99'ed th gates we simply go to run around the map. It's the funniest part of the game they said. But no. They want chases only when there are gens left. When gates are povered they will do ANYTHING to speedrun escape and go next. Weird
there's 3 types of "chase me survivors". Ones who genially good and should never be chased, these are people who know the fundamentals of the game and don't need to rely on shack loop or any strong loop to get u lol. Next is the toxic ones, "good loopers" who know how to abuse certain things like certain walls and pallets, will tbag and emote and usually only want to be chased when facing lower tier killers like pig or a average trapper, if chased by a killer a little bit stronger, they'll get a little salty or blame it on the team or the fact that the killer ur playing is "op" or cringe. Last but not least, you have the ones who are just bad, they're way in over their head and can be genially toxic to both sides, through dcing the second they get downed lol
Let us not forget how strong the 3rd person camera is on survivors. I'll gladly let gens pop on the maps that I can use my mind to win chases. But, if I have to brute force every chase because the streaker can see me through and around every loop we visit, then I'll just go scare the people on gen duty.
Got this in my recommended; very solid vid, m8. Indeed, the moment you lose 3 gens during 1 chase and it’s not even really your choice, it’s like “What do you want from me?” Played both sides and got at least 2.3K hours and I understand that both ways, it’s arse.
Never trust a survivor who wants to be seen … Biggest problem is it’s normally only just one who wants to take chase while their team does all 5 gens, not that they want killers to chase every survivor equally …
All rules in games are dumb, I agree nobody has a responsibility to make sure anyone other than themselves has fun in a match. Although the only thing I don't like is flashlight saves, let them body block or pallet stun me whatever I just hate needing to always look at the wall whenever I pick up.
Unfortunately the objectives in this game are so incredibly boring to complete that everyone would rather get chased then do them. But you can’t just get in chase with every survivor because it takes time and time is the most important thing in a killer match.

I don't care about losing. I just want fun chases, but all survivors I get. No matter what killer I play just hold W and pre drop pallets. That is what I complain about. Then they proceed to call me entitled and tell me to KMS. If I get a GOOD player who knows how to LOOP I don't mind chasing them for 5 gens. But I really don't want to chase someone 5 times across the map, only for them to drop a strong pallet and keep running. And no, I don't want to just play nurse to solve all these problems.
I've actually never ran into a toxic killer when i play survivor and reach end game messages, but my god, when i play killer, most of the time it's a complaint festival of crybabies on PlayStation
I ran a nemesis one time for three gens and had so much fun until I got tunneled out cause I guess I hurt their feelings even though they are the one that over committed to the chase. then yesterday I ran a clown for three two and a half gens and got a four man out which felt better.
So I have played a match where I was the killer one guy was way better in Chase then the other survivors i had chased him forever but couldn’t catch him so I decided to leave and go for someone else but he kept following me not doing gen’s just following me and banging so I hooked the other survivor and eventually I caught him off guard with a quick 360 death slinger shot after he was sooo mad talking all this shit in chat what did I do I looked at my opinion and decided that if i kept chasing this guy I was gunna loose and deciding that I should go find someone who I can actually catch was the better choice then spending another 5min trying to catch him but him trying to goad me into chase lead to him getting to close and that’s how I caught him

I play both sides and for me honesty suvioers are much more annoying and will do things soloy so that there having fun and if they are going against a meta will they will say shit first ehile they run thr same handfull of perks
I play both survivor and Killer and honestly I dont get those "rule books" lol A good chase is a good chase no matter what. If I manage to trick a survivor and get them down quickly or outplay them when they also play good is fun. And as a survivor getting a killer to drop chase because Im wasting too much of their time feels rewarding to me or even if they catch me after a while, as long as my team benefited from my chase I always see that as a win. Anyway I get that getting competitive is a thing with this type of game but at the end of the day, it really is just a game
I have a friend that I play survivors with. And she is a complete opposite of "Just chase me". She pretty new but still has 800+ hours already, and she don't know how to loop properly and what more sad does not want to learn. Every time I got chased by the killer I see it as an oportunity to improve. She see it as killer being toxic and sweaty and annoying. "Why you find two people and choose ME to chase? GO AWAY let me heal, man. OF COURSE I'm the first hook, OF COURSE he need to chase ME of all four people" Our company tries to calm her down and chage her look at things, but it useless.
From experience, survivor gets angry I wouldn't chase, excuse me, but if you take off towards a good or near infinite loop, I don't have to ablige you, I will go for the people that suck at looping or have a build for doing generators, not the guy with the chase build. So a guy that died due to time was like omg you never got me, and I'm like you had 300% speed with what you brought, you are actually faster then me, if I got you I'd show how bad you really were.
Sometimes, I don't get it. Survivors bring like, sabo builds and boil over and stuff, and get downed in the edge of the map, and then they get upset when I don't pick them up. Like... you did this! What do you expect me to do? Give you a free escape off my shoulder? Other thing like healthy survivors wanting to be chased in a extreme safe part of the map, pre throwing pallets, while their injured teammate is doing gens in my face. If you want to be chased, try to bait me into what I would think is a good chase or something, instead of spamming vaults all the way on the corner of the map.
I do really wish there was some kind of nice gesture you could do at the killer at the end of the game like a wave or something to be friendly at the exit gate. I’m never really sure how to go about trying to say goodbye nicely? I normally do a crouch and spin in circles slowly and hope they understand lol
Yeah, t-bagging in DbD is a bit different than flipping someone off imo. I do it as a greeting/thanks with other survivors if they heal me for instance. More friendly emote options would definitely benefit the game imo.
In a game where I can lose 3 gens in 1:30-40 seconds, which is 60% of the Survivors objective. I am not about to commit to the strongest Survivor on the team. I am going to weed out the weak and save the strongest Survivor for last. I am going to tunnel you out every chance I get because it is not logical to go after someone you can't catch. Yes, I tunnel, you can call it a skill issue and say I am bad because I tunneled Survivors out and won. This is a fun fact for all those crying about tunneling: If you don't suck in the chase, the killer will not tunnel you. Only a dumb killer commits to chasing the strongest Survivor on the team. Fun fact: If there is no weak Survivor on the team the killer will 9 out of 10 lose that match by default. I have been playing solo que, and I do understand why most Survivors cry about how killers play. It is because most of the Survivor side of this community is complete garbage. You telling me the killer is op when I lead a 3-minute chase for only one gen to pop? When I look at the player icons, I see them opening chests, and cleansing totems, but I swear on my life these Survivors have a skin condition that makes them just refuse to do generators. Then they say the killer is toxic, or op. Last night I tried my hardest not to get mad but last night was just rage inducing. When I play killer, I get Survivors who play like gods, but when I play Survivor, I get the most brain dead, stupid, peace sign across my chest, drooling, idiot Survivors on planet earth. There are some matches where I literally see the player icons not doing anything all game. Then I see some Survivors literally throwing the game on purpose. Then I see Survivors killing themselves on hook simply because it is a killer they don't like. When I play Survivor, I hardly ever get a hate message from the killer. When I play killer all I get is hate messages after almost every game. The only time a Survivor ever says GG to me is when they win. My 1st match on DBD back in 2017 playing as old Freddy, was a bully squad who belittled and insulted me for not knowing how to play the game. They literally held the game hostage, farmed me, and trolled me. Keep in mind this was before the end game collapse when Survivors could bully you an infinite amount of time. After that I learned how to play killer correctly and developed tunneling, slugging, and camping and I started winning because of those 3 methods of gameplay. Then after so many hate messages I started taking hate messages as a compliment letting me know I did a good job in that match. The greatest double standard in DBD is this: Survivors hate you for playing killer correctly, and doing what works. But yet they do not seem to have any issue with doing what works. Has no one not noticed that tunneling became more popular than ever since all the slowdown perks got nerfed? It was all we really had to play how Survivors would love us to play. You want us to go for 12 hooks one by one? Give us the time to do it and we will. Until they give us the time to go for 12 hooks you better get used to tunnelmania, unless the devs pull some more hand holding killer nerfs so all the bad Survivors can stand a chance against veteran killer mains.
I find it so hilarious when survivors think they are hot stuff by clicking and teabagging then running immediately to shack or some of the safest loops in the map. Yeah buddy. Sure. I’ll chase you around the most brain dead easy loops for survivor.

I have felling like dbd need to update core mechanic of the game, make chase main idea of the game or make hooks and gnerators included in the idea of the chase. Make sort of dbd 2.0
Its a complicated topic. Hit and run tactics are trash. Most wraiths lose when they do it and same with others. Doing gens is the focus when you do that, therefor you encourage insane gen pressure against yourself dor the tradeoff every chase is 1 hit. So you HAVE to chase a good amount to win, unless you wanna hold a 3 gen which no one likes. Doing gens is boring so of course everyone at a higher skill level or with a diff mindset wants chase. A goood player wants chase can be detrimental to the poor killers, but if a bad or average survivor wants chase it can be an easy first down. Its a topic that has many facets. In reality yes killers do need to take more chases at times, but at the same time sometimes the killer cant afford it especially if they seen said survivors looping already. On that note mmr is trash, if you have 1 good solo survivor the rest will die in 30 seconds. Sucks but they have trash matchmaking. So doing 1v1 all the time can be detrimental, at least at the higher level.
I get to a degree why people want chases, its to either have a fun outsmarting match with the killer or to act decoy for their team to gen rush, But lord its kinda annoying when survivors go down the ego route or complaining route depending on what you do in the game. I get especially annoyed when people teabag because they act like throwing down a pallet on my head or having a downed pallet and me breaking it is like a success... then they complain in end game chat after I get a 1k or 4k depending and say "Why did you chase me and kill me you tunneler!" I mean... you constantly got in my face, annoyed me, and ah yes even after second hook you didn't bother hiding or work on gens all game and I purposely tried to not knock you out of the game sooner rather than later. Also, can I just say how dumb both of the "rule books" are just dumb.

I get killers CAN camp/tunnel/slug to win but i played against a trapper and i was running a unhook myself build with luck and i got hooked after making a dumb mistake of forgetting if a pallet was trapped or not (it wasn't) and i of course unhooked myself and i thought it would be funny to T-bag and run into the trap he just place thinking he would slug as i thought he would see it was a joke (he didn't) which is fine i was dumb and it was a unneeded risk i took as a joke but after i got hooked again i got unhooked and i ran away (he was in the area so i don't blame him for being near hook) which he than waited out my timer to down me and kill me. i believe that no matter the situation if you hook someone 3 times in a row you are tunneling and i find that to be toxic even more so if you tunnel to death hook and to 2nd hook as your effectively taking someone out of the game (in this case who was trying to have fun) before it really started. normally i would give a low tier a pass as it is harder to play that killer but when it was the last survivor left the hatch spawn next them as he downed them and he didn't give hatch (not at all required but if you tunneled someone out of the game i feel you should) and adrenaline popped and they went to gate and of course he downed them again and he slugged them until end game killed them. note: we didn't bully him, we didn't gen rush (more than usually against a trapper), and other than my "T-bag" (which the last survivor didn't do) he still slugged them during the Halloween event and he didn't go to get points which would be justified. he moved his camera when they crawled and followed them so we know he wasn't AFK he simply tunneled and slugged without caused or reason after already being ahead. it was uncalled for and toxic, which is why survivors make a stupid rulebook saying don't do these things as some asshole will just ruin others games for no reason other than they can. P.S. he defiantly could have hooked her as there were several hooks near by
I think a small buff to survivors that may make it a bit more balanced would be to give them the option of bringing a new item to the trials. I call this item a "gun". By using the gun, a homing High Explosive Anti Tank (HEAT) round will be fired towards the nearest (only) killer player, in real life, forcing a ceasing of movements in game.
I don't follow fake rulebooks. I don't follow survivor or killer ethics. I play for the W, regardless of the role I'm playing. It's a PVP game. If people can't handle it, they can go play something else. The irony that because I beat them in a way they don't approve of, I'm "bad"...is rich, coming from the person who lost.

I wish they'd add a 'ranked 1v1' gamemode for dbd. It already exists in the form of discord matches but thats a niche community. An entire gamemode for sweats that just like being chased (and chasing) and winning mindgames. Dunno how the killer selection would work since both sides would have to play both sides and could they reset the map after 1 chase is done and how could they let you choose which side of shack you want. Lol, this isn't a DBD problem, it's a problem with EVERY PvP game. People get angry if the opponents don't play in a way that lets THEM win, call for nerfs specifically because they think they MUST win and that it's unfair whenever they don't. Here's MY rulebook as a new player......just play and have fun. It's stupid to demand changes to a game solely because you dislike a perk or a character and get stomped by them.
Hot take: Most of the community is soo hiveminded with the "chase" aspect of the game and only killers that rely on it are really praised. I think also the macro playstyle is important for DBDand we need more mechanical killers. While yes i agree versing an Hillbilly, Oni or Demo is always a experience it's always a good experience, if we get only killers that "dash" or "go fast" many players would lose interest really fast. Chases are fun, but not all killers can afford them and they're not the main objective. Personally i prefer more the slow paced killers or stealth gameplay. I like to be patient and when a survivor is in the most vulnerable spot, i surprise him. That's why i love characters like Dredge, ghostface and wraith ❤❤
Tbagging is not the same as flipping the killer off (excluding in the exit gate). I'm not saying it's not rude, it IS; but it isn't even comparable flipping the killer off. Flipping someone off means only 1 thing: "fuck you". But tbagging in DBD can mean a whole slew of different things: "keep chasing me", "nice try but you missed", or just general banter; and you can't assume that theyre literally saying "fuck you." I respect Kaiser and I understand where they're coming from, but I do not agree with their point. It's literally just spamming a button. In a game like DBD that has pretty much zero communication, tbagging is one of the only ways survivors have to communicate with the killer.

Yeah fundamentally i disagree with this premise because what they really want is to be chased on their terms. If all they really wanted was chases survivors would LOVE to be tunneled because that means almost 100% of your gameplay is being chased then they could move on to another game.

As someone who picked up the game after watching it for years just to play Singularity, and only has 500 hours in DBD, I am *already* sick and fucking tired of survivors fingerfucking their Ctrl key like they finally found the G-spot just because they got to the exit gate.
Best thing to do if you know the survivors are at the gate is just not even go near it and farm bp. Especially if your singularity just spam your ability in a corner for hella bp.

Sounds like the issue is that the most entertaining aspect is the secondary part of the game (chase), while the primary goal (gens v. hooks) is boring. So doing the fun thing is detrimental to the primary goal. Then when one side chooses to do the primary goal it feels like they “played better” when in fact the two teams simply chose different priorities.
Indeed so. After all sometimes if you really feel like the need to sweat. You might even start relying on camping/tunneling. Even slugging. Also I'd see it rather ''(gens vs kills.)'' Not hooks. That part of dbd is long gone.
Honestly playing as killer and getting into a single chase and seeing three gens pop in the middle of that chase is so demoralizing. You are instantly put onto the back foot and a defensive position and unless you are good enough to have been able to finish the first chase super fast you are likely going to have to then tunnel or camp in or break chase in some way to create pressure. Then they get yelled at after the match for doing those things. So either get stuck into a losing match or get yelled at for doing the things people have randomly decided is not alright.
My first ever game as killer in this game I barely knew how to play to the point I didn't know the lunge existed, got put into a match as wraith and 3 gens popped before I even saw a single person. So as soon as I saw someone I ran at them and managed a hook, went off until the game popped a noise and visual at me which I went back to. Being in baby killer mode I ran at the first character I saw near the hook which happened to be the same person, who I put back on a hook and that repeated until they got on death hook. By this time the gates were open and the other three were sitting outside it teabagging and so I ran at them swinging, managing to barely get one down before the last two leave and get them on the hook and stare at them as I see the entity take them off the hook since I hadn't seen that before. So managed a 2k which was neat. To then be met with a message the second the match ended with someone going off on me for tunneling.
DBD in a nutshell~ My first experience went bout the same way fam. This game till this day still plays the same, unless your Skull merchant or pinhead with 4 gens perks then your games gonna fly puttin u on the offensive/defense.. Rather u play by the rulebook or not yee gonna get yelled at or trolled, After coming back to dbd after 3months of a break the amount of games where survivors seat at the exit gate waiting till the very last sec before leaving is almost laughable I love this game but i'm back on break lmao
The problem is killers have to focus on multiple objectives while 1 survivor can focus on one objective while the others handle the other objective, which is why killer needs to be the “stronger” role cuz they have to deal with multiple objectives

I remember two matches where one Survivor was way better than me and I could not catch them. So I ignored them. The first time, the other 3 Survivors got mad at me for ignoring their best looper but, their best looper defended me by saying it made sense to ignore them if I can't catch up. The second time, I couldn't catch the best looper and saw the other 3 Survivors healing via Nurse's Calling and interrupted that instead. The Survivor who got downed again immediately DCed and got mad at me for tunneling. That Survivor who DCed didn't have that same energy when they spammed flashlight blinds & were laughing at me though.
Also on the Survivor side, had a Hillbilly who DCed because their meme build wasn't getting them kills. They knew their build wasn't good for getting kills but, got mad they weren't getting a 4K and blamed it on me and the other Survivors. That Hillbilly then threw a fit and said how "next time I'll bring 4 slowdown perks , tunnel & slug on the ground for 5 minutes".
8:46 this entire point is why I don't like playing killer. The game is so horrifically survivor sided every match needs to be played insanely well just for a chance to succeed. It just isn't fun, when being the killer SHOULD be fun
Here’s a story about how me as a killer hooks a survivor and only a few seconds later they get unhooked and instead of going after the person that was just unhooked I go for the person that unhooked and was injured but guess what the guy that was just hooked was running right behind me clicking their flashlight so I immediately turned around and down them and who would have guessed that they started complaining about me tunneling
Let them complain all they want. They need to learn that 10 seconds of bt is not the same as immortality. If they throw themselves at the killer, they deserve to go down.

They could have an entity's wraith mechanic where the longer a chase, if the killer downs that survivor generators are all either halted or receive damage. It would only happen on long chase or could be based on the number of generators that get completed during that chase. But this would remove the strategy of knowing when and how long to chase.

The behavior of survivors getting overconfident or BM'ing for chases is so prevelant I started using it as an actual strategy. Find someone hungry for chases and overcommit for just a bit. Enough to get them to think they're hot shit and want more. Then they start flashlight clicking, spam vault or (I've actually had this multiple times) run directly to you. Thats 1 survivor not doing gens. Basically like you got an early kill. Then when you do a real chase they usually aren't thinking strategically and they loop horribly. Boom, easy dub.
So yeah. I actually love that type of survivor. They get mad sometimes, but hey I didn't read the killer rulebook I'm here to get bloodpoints and win.

I wish they’d do more of an action based matchmaking than skill based so we play with/against players with similar play styles when it’s possible. I think that’d help with overall gen rush and chase issues at least a little bit.

For the tbaging it depends because it’s so fun going against a ghostface that you tbag all game with or just chilling out with the killer even if your playing a normal game I’ve gotten players that tbaged and I thought that was fine because they didn’t do it in a toxic way.
What I never got with the whole "just get in chase" thing is that most games the killer and survivors are taking chase? at most the killer will give up after a lil bit, or chases other people off a gen the survivor was running them to, like out of all the games I played on both sides there was only like maybe 8 or something where it was either the killer stuck on gens the whole match or survivors hiding in corners, and idk about others but i like having a bit of downtime after being chased for a long time so i can get points for gens/healing

there's 3 types of "chase me survivors". Ones who genially good and should never be chased, these are people who know the fundamentals of the game and don't need to rely on shack loop or any strong loop to get u lol. Next is the toxic ones, "good loopers" who know how to abuse certain things like certain walls and pallets, will tbag and emote and usually only want to be chased when facing lower tier killers like pig or a average trapper, if chased by a killer a little bit stronger, they'll get a little salty or blame it on the team or the fact that the killer ur playing is "op" or cringe. Last but not least, you have the ones who are just bad, they're way in over their head and can be genially toxic to both sides, through dcing the second they get downed lol

All rules in games are dumb, I agree nobody has a responsibility to make sure anyone other than themselves has fun in a match. Although the only thing I don't like is flashlight saves, let them body block or pallet stun me whatever I just hate needing to always look at the wall whenever I pick up.
Unfortunately the objectives in this game are so incredibly boring to complete that everyone would rather get chased then do them. But you can’t just get in chase with every survivor because it takes time and time is the most important thing in a killer match.

I don't care about losing. I just want fun chases, but all survivors I get. No matter what killer I play just hold W and pre drop pallets. That is what I complain about. Then they proceed to call me entitled and tell me to KMS. If I get a GOOD player who knows how to LOOP I don't mind chasing them for 5 gens. But I really don't want to chase someone 5 times across the map, only for them to drop a strong pallet and keep running. And no, I don't want to just play nurse to solve all these problems.
I've actually never ran into a toxic killer when i play survivor and reach end game messages, but my god, when i play killer, most of the time it's a complaint festival of crybabies on PlayStation
I ran a nemesis one time for three gens and had so much fun until I got tunneled out cause I guess I hurt their feelings even though they are the one that over committed to the chase. then yesterday I ran a clown for three two and a half gens and got a four man out which felt better.

Back in 2018 survivors weren't too intense on gens and I could focus more on chases rather than pressure
So I have played a match where I was the killer one guy was way better in Chase then the other survivors i had chased him forever but couldn’t catch him so I decided to leave and go for someone else but he kept following me not doing gen’s just following me and banging so I hooked the other survivor and eventually I caught him off guard with a quick 360 death slinger shot after he was sooo mad talking all this shit in chat what did I do I looked at my opinion and decided that if i kept chasing this guy I was gunna loose and deciding that I should go find someone who I can actually catch was the better choice then spending another 5min trying to catch him but him trying to goad me into chase lead to him getting to close and that’s how I caught him

A good chase is a good chase no matter what. If I manage to trick a survivor and get them down quickly or outplay them when they also play good is fun.
And as a survivor getting a killer to drop chase because Im wasting too much of their time feels rewarding to me or even if they catch me after a while, as long as my team benefited from my chase I always see that as a win.
Anyway I get that getting competitive is a thing with this type of game but at the end of the day, it really is just a game
I have a friend that I play survivors with. And she is a complete opposite of "Just chase me". She pretty new but still has 800+ hours already, and she don't know how to loop properly and what more sad does not want to learn. Every time I got chased by the killer I see it as an oportunity to improve. She see it as killer being toxic and sweaty and annoying. "Why you find two people and choose ME to chase? GO AWAY let me heal, man. OF COURSE I'm the first hook, OF COURSE he need to chase ME of all four people"

From experience, survivor gets angry I wouldn't chase, excuse me, but if you take off towards a good or near infinite loop, I don't have to ablige you, I will go for the people that suck at looping or have a build for doing generators, not the guy with the chase build. So a guy that died due to time was like omg you never got me, and I'm like you had 300% speed with what you brought, you are actually faster then me, if I got you I'd show how bad you really were.
Sometimes, I don't get it. Survivors bring like, sabo builds and boil over and stuff, and get downed in the edge of the map, and then they get upset when I don't pick them up.

I do really wish there was some kind of nice gesture you could do at the killer at the end of the game like a wave or something to be friendly at the exit gate. Yeah, t-bagging in DbD is a bit different than flipping someone off imo. I do it as a greeting/thanks with other survivors if they heal me for instance. More friendly emote options would definitely benefit the game imo.
Normally a two slow tbags as well as leaving your item (if u have one) can indicate friendliness/appreciation.

In a game where I can lose 3 gens in 1:30-40 seconds, which is 60% of the Survivors objective. I am not about to commit to the strongest Survivor on the team. I am going to weed out the weak and save the strongest Survivor for last. I am going to tunnel you out every chance I get because it is not logical to go after someone you can't catch. Yes, I tunnel, you can call it a skill issue and say I am bad because I tunneled Survivors out and won. This is a fun fact for all those crying about tunneling: If you don't suck in the chase, the killer will not tunnel you. Only a dumb killer commits to chasing the strongest Survivor on the team. Fun fact: If there is no weak Survivor on the team the killer will 9 out of 10 lose that match by default. I have been playing solo que, and I do understand why most Survivors cry about how killers play. It is because most of the Survivor side of this community is complete garbage. You telling me the killer is op when I lead a 3-minute chase for only one gen to pop? When I look at the player icons, I see them opening chests, and cleansing totems, but I swear on my life these Survivors have a skin condition that makes them just refuse to do generators. Then they say the killer is toxic, or op. Last night I tried my hardest not to get mad but last night was just rage inducing. When I play killer, I get Survivors who play like gods, but when I play Survivor, I get the most brain dead, stupid, peace sign across my chest, drooling, idiot Survivors on planet earth. There are some matches where I literally see the player icons not doing anything all game. Then I see some Survivors literally throwing the game on purpose. Then I see Survivors killing themselves on hook simply because it is a killer they don't like. When I play Survivor, I hardly ever get a hate message from the killer. When I play killer all I get is hate messages after almost every game. The only time a Survivor ever says GG to me is when they win. My 1st match on DBD back in 2017 playing as old Freddy, was a bully squad who belittled and insulted me for not knowing how to play the game. They literally held the game hostage, farmed me, and trolled me. Keep in mind this was before the end game collapse when Survivors could bully you an infinite amount of time. After that I learned how to play killer correctly and developed tunneling, slugging, and camping and I started winning because of those 3 methods of gameplay. Then after so many hate messages I started taking hate messages as a compliment letting me know I did a good job in that match. The greatest double standard in DBD is this: Survivors hate you for playing killer correctly, and doing what works. But yet they do not seem to have any issue with doing what works. Has no one not noticed that tunneling became more popular than ever since all the slowdown perks got nerfed? It was all we really had to play how Survivors would love us to play. You want us to go for 12 hooks one by one? Give us the time to do it and we will. Until they give us the time to go for 12 hooks you better get used to tunnelmania, unless the devs pull some more hand holding killer nerfs so all the bad Survivors can stand a chance against veteran killer mains.

I mainly play killer and no matter how frustrated I can get, having a rulebook for survivors to just let me kill them? Um...no thanks, that sounds like cringe.
I have felling like dbd need to update core mechanic of the game, make chase main idea of the game or make hooks and gnerators included in the idea of the chase. Make sort of dbd 2.0

Its a complicated topic. Hit and run tactics are trash. Most wraiths lose when they do it and same with others. Doing gens is the focus when you do that, therefor you encourage insane gen pressure against yourself dor the tradeoff every chase is 1 hit. So you HAVE to chase a good amount to win, unless you wanna hold a 3 gen which no one likes. Doing gens is boring so of course everyone at a higher skill level or with a diff mindset wants chase. A goood player wants chase can be detrimental to the poor killers, but if a bad or average survivor wants chase it can be an easy first down. Its a topic that has many facets. In reality yes killers do need to take more chases at times, but at the same time sometimes the killer cant afford it especially if they seen said survivors looping already. On that note mmr is trash, if you have 1 good solo survivor the rest will die in 30 seconds. Sucks but they have trash matchmaking. So doing 1v1 all the time can be detrimental, at least at the higher level.

I get to a degree why people want chases, its to either have a fun outsmarting match with the killer or to act decoy for their team to gen rush, But lord its kinda annoying when survivors go down the ego route or complaining route depending on what you do in the game. I get especially annoyed when people teabag because they act like throwing down a pallet on my head or having a downed pallet and me breaking it is like a success... then they complain in end game chat after I get a 1k or 4k depending and say "Why did you chase me and kill me you tunneler!" I mean... you constantly got in my face, annoyed me, and ah yes even after second hook you didn't bother hiding or work on gens all game and I purposely tried to not knock you out of the game sooner rather than later. Also, can I just say how dumb both of the "rule books" are just dumb.
Completely agree with your rant, and I'm a survivor main. If game allows it, you can use it, so go ahead and camp, tunnel, slug, teabag, blind and gen rush. I play to win and have fun when I can

As soon as i see someone is actively trying to be chased i stop chasing them. You’ve already done 3 gens, I got 3 hooks and you think I’ll follow you to shack? I’m dumb but not that dumb
I get killers CAN camp/tunnel/slug to win but i played against a trapper and i was running a unhook myself build with luck and i got hooked after making a dumb mistake of forgetting if a pallet was trapped or not (it wasn't) and i of course unhooked myself and i thought it would be funny to T-bag and run into the trap he just place thinking he would slug as i thought he would see it was a joke (he didn't) which is fine i was dumb and it was a unneeded risk i took as a joke but after i got hooked again i got unhooked and i ran away (he was in the area so i don't blame him for being near hook) which he than waited out my timer to down me and kill me. i believe that no matter the situation if you hook someone 3 times in a row you are tunneling and i find that to be toxic even more so if you tunnel to death hook and to 2nd hook as your effectively taking someone out of the game (in this case who was trying to have fun) before it really started. normally i would give a low tier a pass as it is harder to play that killer but when it was the last survivor left the hatch spawn next them as he downed them and he didn't give hatch (not at all required but if you tunneled someone out of the game i feel you should) and adrenaline popped and they went to gate and of course he downed them again and he slugged them until end game killed them. note: we didn't bully him, we didn't gen rush (more than usually against a trapper), and other than my "T-bag" (which the last survivor didn't do) he still slugged them during the Halloween event and he didn't go to get points which would be justified. he moved his camera when they crawled and followed them so we know he wasn't AFK he simply tunneled and slugged without caused or reason after already being ahead.
it was uncalled for and toxic, which is why survivors make a stupid rulebook saying don't do these things as some asshole will just ruin others games for no reason other than they can.
P.S. he defiantly could have hooked her as there were several hooks near by
I don't think you are, but I have met some survivors that I think are big fat stinky doo doo heads.
I think a small buff to survivors that may make it a bit more balanced would be to give them the option of bringing a new item to the trials. I call this item a "gun". By using the gun, a homing High Explosive Anti Tank (HEAT) round will be fired towards the nearest (only) killer player, in real life, forcing a ceasing of movements in game.

I don't follow fake rulebooks. I don't follow survivor or killer ethics. I play for the W, regardless of the role I'm playing. It's a PVP game. If people can't handle it, they can go play something else. The irony that because I beat them in a way they don't approve of, I'm "bad"...is rich, coming from the person who lost.

@112Hermit112 tried that it only lasts for so long until you get teabagged all match . Been here 7 years . Game still feels unpolished and unfair at times but I gotta do my job. I want to have fun but losing isn't fun

I wish they'd add a 'ranked 1v1' gamemode for dbd. It already exists in the form of discord matches but thats a niche community. An entire gamemode for sweats that just like being chased (and chasing) and winning mindgames. Dunno how the killer selection would work since both sides would have to play both sides and could they reset the map after 1 chase is done and how could they let you choose which side of shack you want. But regardless i'd kill for a gamemode like that more than any event they could ever make
If they would ever think about implementing this i'd also hope they would get into contact with the actual 1v1 community and talk about the rulesets and such over with the people that actually innovated it
You're going to get tea bagged regardless. They'll wait in the exit gates wasting minutes of your life you'll never get back. If it needs to be a rule, BHVR will attempt to implement it mechanically. Just play the game.
Lol, this isn't a DBD problem, it's a problem with EVERY PvP game.
People get angry if the opponents don't play in a way that lets THEM win, call for nerfs specifically because they think they MUST win and that it's unfair whenever they don't.
Here's MY rulebook as a new player......just play and have fun. It's stupid to demand changes to a game solely because you dislike a perk or a character and get stomped by them.
Hot take: Most of the community is soo hiveminded with the "chase" aspect of the game and only killers that rely on it are really praised. I think also the macro playstyle is important for DBDand we need more mechanical killers. While yes i agree versing an Hillbilly, Oni or Demo is always a experience it's always a good experience, if we get only killers that "dash" or "go fast" many players would lose interest really fast. Chases are fun, but not all killers can afford them and they're not the main objective. Personally i prefer more the slow paced killers or stealth gameplay. I like to be patient and when a survivor is in the most vulnerable spot, i surprise him. That's why i love characters like Dredge, ghostface and wraith ❤❤
Tbagging is not the same as flipping the killer off (excluding in the exit gate). I'm not saying it's not rude, it IS; but it isn't even comparable flipping the killer off. Flipping someone off means only 1 thing: "fuck you". But tbagging in DBD can mean a whole slew of different things: "keep chasing me", "nice try but you missed", or just general banter; and you can't assume that theyre literally saying "fuck you." I respect Kaiser and I understand where they're coming from, but I do not agree with their point. It's literally just spamming a button. In a game like DBD that has pretty much zero communication, tbagging is one of the only ways survivors have to communicate with the killer.
Question for the survivor mains - When I kill someone on hook who have played really well I give em a single nod of approval to send them off with respect. Is that BM? :(

You killer mains suck that's why u don't chase. Even with full slow down. All y'all do is camp hook or proxy camp . Won't have fun . Most survivors in high MMR . Don't care about gens. Y'all do . We moon Walk and meme at the start . Y'all go mad hard. And tunnel. That's all y'all care about m this is why I play TCM cause all killers are trash m except the ones that are cracked and I mean there are very few.
