In actual fact, your Dad did start this band. Denny wrote the basic song and the rest of us fit our parts into it. Frank played bass, Denny played rhythm, Kent played drums and I played lead guitar. Great bunch of guys. We had a lot of fun. I liked your Dad very much but lost track of everyone when I moved. Lots of good garage bands in those days. A fantastically creative time. Interesting fact: When this song was written, Denny was 12. The rest of us were either 13 or 14 and recorded it in Portland, Oregon on REX which was a master label at that time. Garage Hangover has quite a page set up for us with pics, sound and stories.
I absolutely LOVE this song. It's great to see a lot of fellow admirers. My dad was the guitar player of US Kids. I'm very proud to say that this is my dad's band. Incredible really.
I'm about 15 years younger than your dad and his mates, US KIDS. I'm still overwhelmed that such young teens would lay down such a powerhouse sound. ONLY IN THE MID SIXTIES!!!!! By the time I was 13 to 17, forget it.
