10:55 - all my thoughts about the amp
I have heard nothing but great things about these Supro amps.
Thanks for the great content doggins!
Dude. Freakin killer intro jam, bud! I love Supro Tones. I don't have a physical amp but they licensed a model through line 6 and I use the model on my PodGo like every day. So good!
oh cool, what is the model called?
they are 3 for 3 in my books with the models I've tried.
@@landonbailey called Soup Pro 😂😎
I already own this amp. Why am I here? Why are any of us here? Is it to hear? I don’t know, maybe.
Nice Landonisms 😂
There can be only one,@@0TheRain0! Still, I can try.
I see many “I love this amp” but to my ears not so much. Why? Doesn’t much matter. Thanks for sharing this video. It absolutely has helped me decide to keep looking.
Very nice intro landon your playing has really gotten pretty damn good throughout the last couple of years!!
I've had mine for about 4 months now and just love it!
I enjoy your videos Landon. Thanks for the entertaining content.
My pleasure
Love your enthusiasm and content. Very entertaining 👏
Thanks so much!
I really love your content, perfect humour, talks, demos, everything. You should maybe do short product demo videos after a full product review with original riffs and solos etc. I think it would be cool and would make more people interested :) Good stuff! Keep it going!
The 'greenest.'
Thank you for sharing.
well done!
Cheers
I like your humor, keep it coming!
Thanks, will do!
I've had one for a couple of years and love it. With a Tube Screamer in front and judicious use of of the volume and master dials, you get some great tones.
Very nice!
I bought this amp a few months ago. It is a great amp and sounds great.
Landon, thanks for the video and your humor. I was very close to buying a Delta King 10. Then I tried the Supro Amulet and was very impressed. Ended up buying that. The ability to have 5, 10, or 15 watts is the best of both worlds. Use it for home, and it's great.
Good stuff! The Amulet is great! I have the 10
I had A Mulet in the 80s
@hughschick6847 I'm missing myself good one friend!!
Wow, that thing can get pretty gnarly 😊
Very nice! I like your taste in amps. I love most Fender amps, and I’ve loved every Supro I’ve ever heard... which is why the only amp I own is a Katana 50 MKII. I’m just one guy, and an old one at that. The Katana is a “do everything” amp, and I’m a “do very little well” kind of player.
Got one. It’s my go to now. Got a Fender Blues Jr and a modelling Mustang III. Got rid of my Deluxe Reverb ( too much power and doesn’t come across quietly). This Supro has everything I want or need. I’ve stopped plugging in my pedal board and straight into the amp now. It’s great at lower volumes. Thanks again for the review.
I have been using one to play with my band, and it is pretty much wide open, but is loud enough. I used to use a JCM 800 with the same band!
Thank you for including the decibel reader.
Just got the delta king 12 and love it. Only oroblem i have is i use it to gig small bars with a band. And the foot switch drive has no control of levels. So to use it properly i have to press both switches at same time. Turning boost on when drive is off. And drive on boost off. Pedal would solve this problem but bypasses the biult in drive. Which i like.
8:15 You threw me into a time tunnel & major goosebumps. "Airbag" by Radiohead was an epic milestone. Your guitar and Supro amp sound fantastic !
oh nice!
I have the older version, Blues King 12 which is the same amp but with an effects loop. Great sounding amp and fantastic with pedals as well. The drive switch may not be everyone's cup of tea though but I like it.
Love that color😊
Just a non-insulting FYI... preamp out and power amp in are the effects loop. It's just old nomenclature. 😊
@@mikeoliver5811 I was gonna say...
I've owned this amp for a year or more now, and still love it. Sounds great with all my guitars. I only wish the drive switch was on a pot or was a less gain circuit. I don't think I'd ever sell it.
Same for me wanted this forever now get to see it in action from an honest dude eh! Where'd you get ot, how much and is it good for my bedroom?
I've been thinking of getting this amp!
Before you do check out the Artist Tweed Tone 12A amp. A 12watt all tube amp with12in celestion speaker for less than half the price! Sounds fantastic!
So wondering my man for a bedroom player that likes very clean and articulate which is best 12, 10 or 8? Love the color but they had a blue one I wish I would've snagged!
I had the 12 15 watt version and sold it to get the 10 5 watt lower power version for home. Great amps
I'm very curious if thel line out and power in, functions exactly like an effect loop, except that it has just been been renamed,
I have the same amp but the delta king 8, it only has the line out,
You should put a delay betwen the line out and power in! See if it functions traditionslly like an fx loop would 😊
Hey Landon, how does it compare to the Monoprice 15-Watt? Is the tone "more expensive"? :-)
crazy mode pretty cool
I bought a Supro Blues King 8 a few years ago and even on it's lowest settings, it will shake the paint off the walls. My biggest gripe against that amp is that it doesn't have a reverb built in, and that's my only bad thing to say about my Supro. Great little amp that it be.
Sweetwater also had a plum (on sides) and cream version for a little bit, which s what I snagged. And yes, it is a fun and versatile amp, specially at home. And yes, NOT a fan of top mounted knobs, or how you have to change tubes. Chassis has to come out. Makes a great power amp for my digital stuff.
the line out/ power amp in seems like its just an effects loop with a different name.
Sort of a burnished bronze sound with silvery fuzzy bits around the edges that take over more and more as it gets driven
...if you wanted to know what it looks like :D
That super cheat code mode definitely sounds like something Trent Reznor would use :)
I threw some vintage NOS tubes into my amp, and it is one of the best sounding things ever now
never throw tubes! :)
@@landonbailey 😂🤣 lmaooo
Supro has great amps. I keep on wanting to try their Supro Keely Customs with the effects loop designed by Robert Keeley. Sounds like a great pedal platform
I'm between this and the Fender Blues Junior... thoughts?
I have the DK10. More annoying than controls on top is the fact that they are oriented to the rear. Who stands behind their amp to adjust? As for likes? I like that I can get great tones at bedroom levels and it still get plenty loud.
You should do a comparison of the Supro and the monoprice. Love the videos. Keep up the good work
Great suggestion!
Okwai. A cake. 😂 awesome amp!
The line out and power amp in are just an effects loop.
Those sound great and look cool. Would sound even better if you had a Phil X Flip Stix
I like it! Nice color too, i also like the tweed. As far as sound from this side i liked it with the microphone in front.
I have this amp and love it! I got the Tweed color because tweed sounds better than black on black.
Owned this one. The clean tone was stellar. Digital ‘verb was outstanding (coming from a guy who uses as little ‘verb as I he can get away with). Boost - check for a musical tone. One complaint from me - the ‘fat’ gain was way over the top for my tastes.
Did it sound a little boxy? Yeah, the cabinet is bit small.
Would I recommend this amp? Yeah, it’s a great little tool. I just traded it up but I sure didn’t regret owning it.
Landon, constructive criticism: I have watched the video twice, once using TV speakers, then 2nd time with good quality headphones. The recorded tone of the amp sounds a bit treble heavy and harsh. Don't know if it sounded that way in the room for you. This is true to my ears on both the single coil Tele and your HB guitar. Were the tone controls centered? Does boosting mids on the amp help that? Perhaps it's a mic or mic placement or audio interface "problem". Or maybe you went direct out into interface? Love the looks of the amp, but would need to hear more live to make a decision to buy one. Good video overall. Thanks.
It never sounds the same in the room vs the recording. The controls are all shown on screen 🎸👍
Great review, Landon! I don't want to pee on anyone's campfire, so I'll just say this amp is NOT for me - thanks for saving me any trouble.
You can play live with it. Just put a mic on it. I have a quilter microblock 45 I use with a 12 inch speaker I put in a tiny old portable record player case that's about the same size as this amp. I just mic it for bigger rooms or outdoor shows. Sounds like a Marshall half stack when I mic it.
nice! thanks for sharing.
What you didn't show, is something I think this amp excels at, Edge of Breakup tone. Also, great tones cranking the volume and keeping the Master down at home, and different feel and tone, the other way around.
I have an Ibanez TV amp. Though the Supro looks similar. The Supros reverb is a lot better. Nice review.
I remember that amp! looks cool
The Ibanez TV amp has great cleans and you gotta like the built-in screamer Plus you don’t need a stand because it has legs
Reminds me of the Fender Super Champ Rivera era amps..
Landon, you should have emphasized the best part of the amp. Turn up the volume and turn down the master for a great home blues tone. Really good. I am not a fan of the Pigtronix.
The best part to me was the drive and the input options
I have the 10" version and I love it. I don't like that much the pigtronix overdrive with single coils (I prefer to plug a Tube screamer like pedal), but with humbuckers sound great. With the separate Volume and Master controls is a perfect amp for home practice
This little thing roars with some humbuckers.
That Seafoam Green would certainly compliment my Surf Green Strat. Too bad L&M doesn't carry Supro amps and Steve's doesn't carry Seafoam. I demo'd the new Gibson amp and it was amazing. The price? Out of my pay grade.
Out of your pay grade...check out the Artist Tweed Tone 12A amp. A 12watt all tube amp with12in celestion speaker for less than half the price! Sounds fantastic!
@@michaelotten1956
Cheers, will do 🇨🇦
Preamp out and power amp in is what’s affectionately known as the effects loop
Except the line out is disabled when the power amp in is used
I heard if you taste strawberry’s after you lick the
Power adapter you’re going to need new tubes soon.
Landon the best parts of your reviews are …a) the guitar review part …and … b) the comedy show part. So! … a+b= c) awesome guitar review comedy show…for the price of … free. Thanks Lando Shark!
9:15 Secret Crazy Mode … 👍🏼
Line Out needs an IR. … a tad harsh.
IMHO Mr. Bailey (and greetings from down south...eh!) this amp sounds great. However, the direct approach would sound better with an effect pedal board. Neat in fact. Just my opinion, sir. I'd very much consider this amp because of price point and simplicity...as a used product.
I need to unlock "Secret Crazy Mode" for my brain... Or, is that my default setting?
Had one traded it for a Bluescube hot 30.5watt 15 watt 30.
Videos that attempt to show what an amp sounds like are funny. They show you what the amp sounds like on YOUR sound system.
this sounds like a problem to a solution that doesn't exist
I now want to sell all the guitars I recently bought and get a set of wind chimes at a Dollar Store. But that's probably just me.
Is the preamp out and power amp in something like an effects loop?
No, unfortunately not, as soon as you plug anything in the power Amp in, the preamp out is silenced.
Not clear to me why.
If anybody finds out a mod...
It sounds boxy. Maybe because it came out of a box? I don't know
I never played this amp before. Now I can’t stop not playing it ever.
Solid state amps are catching up with everything else in the musical world. They keep getting better and better, and at more and more reasonable prices.
Supro has been making incredible products (this statement from a Roland Blues Cube guy).
The Delta King is a tube amp.
Thanks for bringing those up, they are more interesting to me than $700. obsolete poser tech a newbie could care less about, and my bathroom has late 1950s seafoam green tiles, yuck. Fender Mustang Micro has built in selection of many old crappy amps, and the fancy box of the $100.+ toy is WITHOUT ANY MANUAL but the manual can be found online, BUT NOT FROM FENDER WEB PAGE, they😮 stink for that one issue twice.
Well about those cool looking Supro guitars from a few years back...they are now owned by D'Angelico (or the folks who own them) so 🤷
I tried 3 of these. 1 powerbutton was broken. 2cnd drive channel didnt work. Clean soundend nice and the third soundend like sh!'t. So i didnt buy one.
Mine also has nice clean tones and is a great pedal platform.🤘
On the dark side, pairs well with p90s.
BTW preamp out does include boost, drive, eq and reverb. 😇
i think i was thinking about the power amp in if I said that.
I can't believe I was thinking.
You would think for that kind of money they would throw in a $10 foot switch.
I have the Delta King 8. Not a lot of bells and whistles. Just the tone nob, Volume, and master volume😅 with a boost switch.
I guess they didn’t have it in blue?
I try playing it with the lights set low and I imagine it's blue
@@landonbailey that’s racism….probably.
Sounds good, but $700 for 15 watt amp seems a bit much.
that's in the lower price range these days.
Chic amp
The Landonisms in the comments is the best with this review!
Sure is a pretty little thing.
Line out kinda sucks.
Too much snap or not enough.
It's like waiting for your date's mom to make you really good fried chicken but she gets drunk real fast and passes out instead
Um, controls are not ergonomically correct. Not sure why manufacturers set "read" position like you are staning behind the amp. WTH?
Google it! 🎸👍
Raise your hand if you play your amp at home and want to step around behind it to work the control panel.
Anyone?
No?
Real stupid layout.
Yeah, I've had this gripe for years... I suppose it's in homage to old tube amps from the 50s, back when you played on a bandstand with an orchestra or something and the amp was in front, between the band and the crowd. Since the 60s, guitarists have moved their amps to the backline (hence the term) and this is one reason amps began to be made with their control panels on the front. I get the urge to put the knobs up top, it makes for a cleaner, more attractive look from the audience perspective. But if manufacturers wanna do that, they need to flip it around so the player isn't reading the text and looking at knobs and switches upside down from the usual position, which has been in front of the amp for going on 60 years now.
It's a shame they built the control panel the way they did, because the Delta Kings are really cool amps with a nice feature set and great tones, especially at their price point.
It sounds very good. To me it doesn't look great from the front and the colour seems a bit gay. The reverb seems a bit underwhelming. The control panel looks good, and the back looks fine.
What they used to cover the speaker looks a bit crap to me. If only they had used a better or more interesting textile to cover the speaker.
I see they do other colours. They have 4 stripes, which is one more stripe than adidas 3 stripes lol.
As I say it does sound good. I think they could have done so much better on the design of the front of the amp and it would look better without those stripes.
As someone else has said in the comments 'Chic Amp' and I was kind of thinking that, at least in that colour. Maybe a sporty chic with those go faster stripes lol.
I wouldn't be disappointed if someone gave me one of those as a present but I personally wouldn't buy one.
The reverb actually sounds so much better in the secret crazy mode, I just got to that bit lol.
I think a different material for a speaker covering could improve the looks of the amp a lot.
Personally, not my taste in overdriven amp tones - too raspy.
Sounds like a tin of wasps to me😊
Dude-intro is super out of tune! 😳
Tilt your head to the left a bit and it sounds fine.
It’s not so much out of tune but very ice picky.
@cedarbay3994 If you Supro you know.
Some UA-cam videos are better with the sound off. Ok, would you believe most UA-cam videos are better with the sound turned off.
Awww, someone is jealous. How cute.
29%,49%,74%. 😅
