The Trogly's Guitar Show .I'm a fender guy, I've owned two Gibsons a crescent moon sg + Les Paul jr. Plus Epi custom lp + sg. Never seen a maple neck Gibson. More learned knowledge / thank you . Hopefully someday I'll have another Gibson. My Gibson want is : Firebrand SG must have the 'Branded headstock' with the black speckle's. Edit + proper pick ups, t-tops - I believe they are called.
That is pretty much my ideal Les Paul. The wine red with gold hardware, maple and maybe a floyd rose.... looks so nice. I’m not really a les paul guy, but that is just stellar
I think that is one of the nicest, if not the nicest LP I've seen on your channel. Sounds awesome also. (It took me half an hour to write those two sentences ....I had to recover from a Ziggy Stardust induced flashback). Thanks for the video and you all have a great day.
That thick lacquery plasticky feel is the same way a new Rickenbacker feels. I was so weirded out by that when I first bought mine but grew to love it quickly. Takes some getting used to.
Wow as you know I am not a gibson man but love your show and what I learn.....this is the pinnacle of a gibson to get mt attention. See i love maple fret boards and wine red if I had the cash I would without any reservation buy this guitar and I made this statement @ 0:06 seconds. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFing awesome
Lol "this isn't your grandpa or dad's L.P ....of course not there worth 5 of the L.P your showing . That is indeed a gorgeous looking custom.. I know what you mean about "lackered " fresh board..so smooth and far better for me anyway. .my 72 Strat has a late 70's big head stock neck with that classic lackered maple neck... love it
Man is that one pretty guitar! It's funny, I kept looking at the inlays and thinking that Gibson should have put just a hint of a red in there and then you mentioned it was reflecting the red lol. Awesome sound and looks!
I think a maple overlay on the headstock would be the bomb. It is sexy. I like maple fretboards. All of my guitars and basses, except my Les Paul have maple fretboards.
I remember when the maple fretboards were released around 2011 during the Gibson ebony wood debacle. All the Gibson fans were freaking out. I walked into Sam Ash and the only LP with an ebony fretboard available was the Marc Bolan that they couldn't give away. I probably should've bought both...
8:48 ... I don’t know if it’s just the camera angle or what, but it almost looks like the fret was not cut correctly. The spacing between Low-E and A and B and High - E looks wider. ?
You wouldn't happen to know if anyone makes a Maple fretboard replacement neck for the ES-335/Dot, do you? I love my Dot Deluxe, but I have fallen in love with my Squier CV 50's Tele/Strat's maple fretboard.
Mr. Trogly, I was wondering if you've encountered any Dean guitars from the late 70's/early 80's, when they were more of a handcrafted operation. Do you find them Gibson-like in tone and playability? Any thoughts on their quality?
I like the feel of baked maple fretboards on some Gibsons. I think I like the look of these "non-baked" maple fretboards, but never owned one. Off topic: any clue what a fair price range for a 60's Kalamazoo SG Melody Maker is? Great condition, all original.
I'm not keen on the maple fretboard on a Les Paul although maple being very similar in hardness to ebony ,there should be no noticeable difference, tonally. I didn't realize Gibson started substituting Ebony for Richlite as well as rosewood. A rip off imo.
Every time I 'try' to, I get stuck with the darn thing for a year+ and no one watches the video haha. I do get in limited editions from time to time though, as those seem to sell better. ua-cam.com/video/9FH-4v8tyCw/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/bng7nP2p30g/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/f0gZs2GwgVY/v-deo.html

The Trogly's Guitar Show how much would this go for?

I've got it listed at $3299 reverb.com/item/12166537-video-2011-gibson-les-paul-custom-flame-top-cherry-wine-red
The Trogly's Guitar Show trog have you ever looked into or researched the Les Paul Raw Power?
I'm sorry for double comment but can you decipher the serial 160134201
Would look so much better if the block inlays were black!
ibanez2010 Totally!!
I agree. The white inlays are almost invisible against the pale maple fretboard.
Oh Yeah!
Oh gee, that would MAKE it!!!
I was thinking the same thing!
I love the way baked maple boards feel and sound. Simply baked they look better that most rosewood and baked/stained they are a great ebony stand in.
Guitar sounds awesome. And dude, your playing is getting way better bro, and smoother. Good job
Kevin Fox right? That cant be the Trog playing :P
That is pretty much my ideal Les Paul. The wine red with gold hardware, maple and maybe a floyd rose.... looks so nice. I’m not really a les paul guy, but that is just stellar
Beautiful axe. I'm not crazy about maple fretboards but on that guitar, it pops. I'd rock that.
I've never cared for the look of a maple fretboard on a Les Paul. Which is odd because I prefer maple on Strats and Teles
ContraBand Joe same !
Me too. I wouldn't have a Fender without maple. My strats and my Musicman Stingray bass all have maple.
Yah.....you should see a doctor...
@@hotrodsather yo mama is all booked up....
I'm not a maple board guy....usually, but this one is killer! I'd rock that bad boy all day long. God bless bro 🎸😎
I think that is one of the nicest, if not the nicest LP I've seen on your channel. Sounds awesome also. (It took me half an hour to write those two sentences ....I had to recover from a Ziggy Stardust induced flashback). Thanks for the video and you all have a great day.
I have a 1981 custom,in natural,with a 3 piece maple neck and maple fretboard,I love it
Dude that guitar looks amazing once you see it all at once! Sounds great as well
i have played a 76 maple fret board Les Paul custom with factory bigsby.....played amazingly
BEAUTIFUL guitar, didn't think I'd ever want a gibson but now it's my dream guitar
Saw this on Instagram man, That is one killer LP. What a beauty!
That thick lacquery plasticky feel is the same way a new Rickenbacker feels. I was so weirded out by that when I first bought mine but grew to love it quickly. Takes some getting used to.
I like Maple fretboards but on a Les Paul?!
Wow as you know I am not a gibson man but love your show and what I learn.....this is the pinnacle of a gibson to get mt attention. The Mesa sounds fucking incredible. Keep that beast.
I've wanted one of these for awhile. Great axe my friend
Love that red LP custom and I love the maple fretboard!!🎸👍🎸
I've noticed your guitar playing has been really moving forward. You seem to be pretty smooth now ! Keep kikin ass man.
I had a blonde blonde had a plain fretboard and the maple on the back of the neck was super tiger striped and great sounding '76
Lol "this isn't your grandpa or dad's L.P ....of course not there worth 5 of the L.P your showing . That is indeed a gorgeous looking custom.. That does look so cool. I didn't think I would like it , but I do

A Beautiful Guitar Gibson Custom love that flame top, I'm a B.C. Rich NJ Bassist

Everything about that guitar pops.
Dude thank you so much for making this I was so confused about what guitar this was in the video yesterday 😂😂
I wasn't initially planning on doing this guitar today, but based on all the comments, I figured it would be easier to just make the video haha
8:48 ... I don’t know if it’s just the camera angle or what, but it almost looks like the fret was not cut correctly. The spacing between Low-E and A and B and High - E looks wider. ?
saw her in that new amp video 🤘
Am i the only one that goes back and watches this just because this is such a perfect guitar? No just me? Alright lol
You wouldn't happen to know if anyone makes a Maple fretboard replacement neck for the ES-335/Dot, do you? I love my Dot Deluxe, but I have fallen in love with my Squier CV 50's Tele/Strat's maple fretboard.
I have a 2016 60s les Paul tribute. The serial number is 160134201. What exactly does that mean? Thanks to whoever answers this! 🤟
Funny, when you said you immediately bonded with the guitar, I immediately pictured you grooming it🤪🎸
PS
Your chops are rapidly improving too🎸🎶👍🏻
I love the look of this one no doubt
That sounds good. I’d prefer top hats on the knobs and ABR
Your channel and that guitar are both killer 🤟
Beautiful !!!
That would look great with an ebony fretboard. Love that cherry red! OK! the maple is really nice too👍🏻🤣 Grovers are nice.
Gorgeous guitar, have you ever reviewed the Gibson Victory models?
Not yet
Playing Africa sort of made me love you a little.
That's a very pretty red color.
Black inlays are a must
Damnit. Now I want one of these. Your videos make the guitars look too nice!!@!
wow, i love that color 😍
That's a beauty. So will you keep it or flip it?
Mr. Trogly, I was wondering if you've encountered any Dean guitars from the late 70's/early 80's, when they were more of a handcrafted operation. Do you find them Gibson-like in tone and playability? Any thoughts on their quality?
I have no experience with those, sorry
That's a beautiful guitar...how much was it?
Very Nice Sir.
Did Gibson make a studio with a maple fretboard? I’m asking for a friend who saw one for sale..legit?
Very beautiful!!
They may use maple more because of the rosewood restrictions.
I'm sorry I'm a fender telecaster guy but that Les Paul with the maple finger board fuckin rocks ✌️✌️
Absolutely amazing.Yes I Metal it.
What do you think would be the worth of this guitar nowadays?
That fretboard looks like a bar of white chocolate. Delicious.
I like the feel of baked maple fretboards on some Gibsons. I think I like the look of these "non-baked" maple fretboards, but never owned one.
Off topic: any clue what a fair price range for a 60's Kalamazoo SG Melody Maker is? Great condition, all original.
That would depend on color and pickup configuration. Generally speaking 1k-2k
stone cold rocker man, it does have a good vibe to it
Never sell that one. It sounds as beautiful as it looks
Are you gonna keep it :)
That is a beautiful guitar. If it had black abalone inlays it would be perfect.
She’s so beautiful
Thats the sound (exept all the other sounds that are the sounds;D)
This video made me wet! :)
I think black inlays wouldn't have suit the guitar at all! :)
Usually I HATE maple neck guitars... But that's different! The good way...
Nice!
I like my strats with a rosewood fboard
That guitar is bad ass
As a 52 tele guy, want.
Would totally rock it if it had chrome hardware and pickups instead of gold
And it is a nebraska cornhusker, go big red!
I like it but would swap pick up rings, poker chip and speed knobs over to cream and gold .
that is an amazing guitar :)
Everything looks sexy in red! Absolutely gorgeous guitar.
Youre not keeping this one?
maple looks nice when it's new, but once your sweat gets into the wood and turns it green it's not so good.
Im a drummer but thats a nice looking guitar.
Use Danish Oil or Tru Oil Treatments to try and protect that Maple fingerboard..from getting stained and grungy
John Pick ...They _will_ seal it up but both have a tendency to yellow. It would definitely change the colour characteristics. :)
Are you keeping this one?
I want this guitar please im in love ,how much please
I'm not keen on the maple fretboard on a Les Paul although maple being very similar in hardness to ebony ,there should be no noticeable difference, tonally. I didn't realize Gibson started substituting Ebony for Richlite as well as rosewood. A rip off imo.

Love the guitar and neck. I do see some orange peel on the finish though.
I’d pay grands for this guitar… damn
Do you ever deal in Fenders?
Every time I 'try' to, I get stuck with the darn thing for a year+ and no one watches the video haha. I do get in limited editions from time to time though, as those seem to sell better.

Dirt colored fingerboards and carpets (depending on area/location).... always a smart idea :--)
Yet gitar playing sounds great
Would look a thousand times better if ebony.
I was born at a very young age.
Its a nice guitar tho
why the hell didn't gibson put black inlays in?!
The fingerboard is not raw maple..maple is too unstable a wood to keep raw. It has a light coat of shellac as a sealer.
Maple board on a mahogany neck? Butter side down...LOL!
Axess neck joint... yes! (And 24 fret😃s) Floyd Rose? Oh hell no!
Is this channel only about Gibsons?....Looks like recent videos are all Gibson related.
99% of the time, yes.
JOOOOO
Bullshit!!! It'll be mine as soon as I can get one. 😎😎😎😎😁😁😁😁😈😈😈😈😈
