One thing I would recommend, toss the 'trusting credentials" thing for a while. People in America, at the least, no longer trust people with credentials. If you can't demonstrate it, you're in a bit of a pickle. I don't know what the marketing workaround is for that. But the scientific method now applies to pretty much everything. Proof talks, BS and claims walk and should consider running.. quickly. I worked in commissioned sales long ago; so, I know this can cramp things; but, it's something to consider these days.
I think too often authority and POWER are used interchangeably. What people in America have a problem with are people in positions of power abusing that power without recourse.
