Absofacto's older work is so incredibly underrated, but I am glad Dissolve got more people into them. Most people don't even know the popular version is actually a remaster of the orginal! This album and the old version of Dissolve is super nostalgic for me. I used to listen to their old songs on the bus way back in 2014. Almost makes me miss those days but nope! I hope Absofacto continues to make sick jams like these. New stuff is great and retains a lot of the old sound, but definitely a bigger "pop" vibe. This shit was unique. Nothing else sounds like these songs.
The real question is do you know Mason Proper? That's the OG Absofacto.

I have a lot of bittersweet memories with this record. When I was 15, a friend I had a lengthy history with, disappeared out of nowhere after telling me he'd gotten diagnosed with cancer. His age put him around the threshold of having terrible odds. He emerged several months later with a link to this album, and an explanation that he was now in remission. He was sort of raving over the album more than that fact, but I was overjoyed. I got down to Feathers in the tracklist and cried tears of joy. That one was his favorite.
