I am beyond terrified of needles. Which is why I used the more cartoon one for this video.

I once had 12 shots (one after the other) for allergy testing (since none of the spots where they pricked me on the back with the plastic things reacted, so I got the shot version as well just in case)
6 shots per arm, I started at the wall and was VERY still and silent the whole time. Then a few minutes later I passed out for a bit on the medical chair-bed-thing while me and my mom were waiting for the results to show lol

XD yeah I basically forced myself to go completely still to get through it, probably why I passed out a few minutes later lol. That was at least 7 or 8 years ago tho, so I'm perfectly fine by now
On the bright side, getting shots has been a peace of cake since :D

@@doggygirl3187 sure thing lol, here's some tips!
- The doctor person will always do it in your left arm if you're right-handed, right arm if you're left handed. If you know this (and tell them which arm you want it to be in if they ask), you can prepare by looking in a direction that keeps the needle out of view the whole time.
- You know it's coming unless you're completely distracted, and it only hurts if you tense up your muscles, so you need to keep your arm muscles relaxed to minimize possible pain. Manually breath until they're putting the bandaid on so autopilot can't make you hyperventilate. If you don't have a device, observe/read the posters in the patient room until they're done (I'm a fast reader so I usually do it multiple times). If there is no posters, observe the wall. If you do have a device, read a fanfic.

I remember when I was little, I was terrified of needles but I tried to be brave for my little brother, with time, I'm only scared of the process of the needle poking me, not the size or looking at it. I even donated blood with a huge needle, I understand the fear, but you can manage to overcome it.

I hate needles with all my life their my biggest fear it doesn’t really hurt but I hate the way the needle looks and how it feels when it comes in and out of your skin so I totally get mike we have the same reaction cry and look scared .

I used to be afraid of needles then I figured out the trick to it. Take a slow deep breath and count to 5 and next thing you know the shot is over and done with. Try it out.
I tried it but i have trypanophobia so that doesn't help because I can't relax at all 😭

So, I had to get allergy testing because I could not stop coughing for 2 seconds. They stuck like 15 different needles into my back. I couldn’t lay on my back for a while. They had no mercy when sticking those needles in my back 😭. I found out that I had too many allergies but they were common. Not like a peanut allergy just like grass

I'm mad at that female nurse cause, what kind of a professional refuse to do service cause, in her words she needs proof that their son have that kind of health issues. And in her mind since he's a teenage boy boys aren't allowed to have that kind of health problems.
In the past, mens mental health was a taboo subject.
In the 80s (when this is set), it wasn't even discussed much. They were more expected to "tough it out".
Its only in the past decade that society has started to be more open to the fact that mental health issues aren't gendered. :/
