Idk if it’s different in pvp than pve but with Danse macabre in pve you Shadow strike-Evis-Shadow strike-Cb,Secret technique. You can toss a gloomblade before Sectech if you’re not at 7cp from the Shadowstrike and get an extra stack of Danse Macbre. If this is useless in pvp then ignore me :)
The mechanics aren't different in PVP, but that extra stack of Macabre isn't worth it. In PVE where you are trying to sustain as high as dps as possible, you max it since total burst is less important than consistent damage that is more energy efficient. However, in PVP it's all about cramming as much damage as possible, into as few globals as you can. Adding in a backstab (since he doens't have gloomblade) to get an additional Macabre stack (6% increase) sounds nice, until you consider that's another global that you're adding in there, giving your opponent more time to counter. So while it would be more damage per energy used, it's much slower. A followup shadowstrike>evisc is more burst but costs more energy.
Let's say that Secret Tech hits for 200k at 4 macabre stacks. (It doesn't hit that hard, but it makes the math easier.) Adding in a backstab to get one more stack would take that 200k and turn it into 212k. That is all the 6% increase would do, and a 12k increase is not enough burst to justify the global, when you can follow it up with a symbols>Shadowstrike after for far more damage. Doing this in PVE would leave you energy starved before very long at all, but that matters less in pvp when you'd pool it for burst windows anyway.

I played against a rogue doing this same build yesterday at 2k in solo shuffle. Rogue would have normal set up at start and use some cds but save secret tech and if no early cheese worked he basically stalled till a point where he could duel one of the dps and literally one shot them every time, he ended up going 5-1. It was pretty dumb and not much you can do unless u had trinket but he would just wait for what ever dps ended up using trinket. It was super toxic and considering rogues never die it was hard to figure out what to do to counter it specially in solo shuffle. I was playing boomie and he got me one round without a trinket and i saw it coming was in bear form when he duel/stun me and I barkskin when i was in cheapshot and he still 100-0 me. This is without 4 set too man so its gonna be even more broken.

I have a friend that 1shot to 2300+ as subtlety but his arena ratio was 477-419 so his win rate was kinda ass he couldn't help that monks coccooning his burst and paladins were equipping a shield and using divine protection then switching back to 2hand after they eat his burst😂

Can anyone name another class that can regularly get massive nerfs only to find a new build a week later that translates to the exact thing the previous build gets nerfed for, often better than the first?
Let me know when Rogue is doing that, considering they haven't gotten nerfed in 10.1, and they aren't even the strongest spec. Not to mention, pre-nerf sub was better in 10.0.5 when you could blind sap for 12 fucking seconds.

Sadly I feel most of those casual dad's left arena awhile ago, maybe casual by dad's now adays but most people past 1600 are fairly sweaty now adays

Exactly my thoughts. I fucking hate it when streamers jump on content trains and it becomes all anyone talks about and then you see a wave of ret pala or sub rogues and its all instantly nerfed again until casters are dominating again and the cycle continues.

Rofl rogues don't have two bubbles. Their cc already got nerfed badly. Ret still does insane dmg. No dps need insane survivability except most casters...
Bro rogues have had the most nerfs in all DF, Ret players got 1 nerf and haven't stopped crying about it since. Rogue is at like 30 nerfs and counting.
Yet rogues have been broken since vanilla and rets are almost always trash. And rogue mains tend to ignore it.

You are not gonna be having a fun time with the 4pc pika. I have over double the amount of crit you have in full PVE gear and am always getting super bad runs of just not getting any eviscerate crits during symbols. If you don't get evisc crits during symbols you might as well not even be wearing a 4pc (great set design blizz, well done).

I miss when stats mattered more on gear then the item level of the gear, when just 5 points of any stat actually made your character feel more powerful, or on the other end, if you lost 5 agility as a rogue it actually made your character weaker…wish they would go back to that.. and make stats on the gear actually matter more then just “oh I’m 450 ilvl”..
I mean everyone is basically the same. Just get outplayed by the better player. Stats scale with IL, so it does matter still lol.
