You forgot to mention that with the Manaphy egg, you don’t just have to reset Pokemon Ranger again, you have to do it on a whole new cartdrige as you only get the egg code once per cartridge

@@PrimalDialga999 You can actually encounter and shiny hunt Hitmontop in Colosseum (Gen 3) which seems like the author didn't know about, but its one of the most difficult hunts you can do so it stays a hard to obtain shiny. 😄

The only shiny ive ever failed was a ho-oh that I reset over. It's been 2 years and I still haven't gotten another one. Edit: I've redeemed myself and gotten the shiny back

I remember when i was playing Alpha Sapphire i got to the part where you get a Latias and my game kept crashing on me (I dont know why)
After 3 times failing to obtain my Latias, the game worked so i could finally get it and it was a beautiful shiny yellow Latias, probably my favourite Pokemon I own

That's crazy. I've been playing Pokemon for years, and I've probably encountered a few shinys that I dont remember, I recently started grinding USUM and got a shiny Swanna in the Ultra Wormhole
My first was white 2, I found a shiny buizel while on a call with my friend, sadly I traded the game in later on. I miss that game :(
I can tell you that when I was shiny hunting Rayquaza in US, I DID end up resetting the game the first time it popped up....
I lost about 10 years of my life on that.... fortunately out of pure stubbornness I managed to get it again, after a month more of soft resetting

I soft reset shiny rayquaza aswell. Took 2 thousand resets to get it first time and about 4 thousand to get it again. Worth it though cos shiny rayquaza is a beast.
U know the funny thing is in ultra sun while I was looking for a larvesta to SOS method on I actually somehow found a shiny female salandit in a random encounter. Heck I still have that salazle on the file.

@@No-us1qz that's great. While it's nice to get shinys through the numerous methods, nothing beats the surprise of a random encounter. Like the shiny farfetched I got a while back in Crystal while looking for Entei. That was exilerating.

I know I’ve had shinnies before it, but the first shiny I remember actually getting myself is a mr mime from a random encounter- I don’t like mr mine very much, and clowns kinda scare me… but I still love her
The only shiny i've ever encountered was a Sentret at the beginning of a HGSS play through... it was before I got the pokeballs. I was torn.
I don’t gamble purely cause I lost all my luck finding a shiny latios in emerald. An achievement I’ll never forget.
Shiny Manaphy is actually reliant on your secret ID so you just have to restart and trade between two gen 4 games :)

Slick_Assasin 123 nah I don’t think I have ever seing a shiny manaphy form ranger . There was 1 guy that did it live on UA-cam but after a week or 2 he admitted that he cheated .
@@goldenONX while yes there is no recorded evidence of a real shiny manaphy from ranger, the shiny chance is determined by secret ID is proven in its code.
I’ve been soft resetting on soul silver for the last year. Just when I would be watching Netflix at the end of the end of the day. I’ve managed to get a shiny charmander( now a charzard) and a shiny treecko (sceptile now). I was so happy to get them after thousands of soft resets. Now I’m random encountering for a shiny wevile

My first shiny was a shiny magnetron I found him while I was grinding in the power plant in fire red and almost one hit k.o it by using a razor leaf on it but it missed and then I caught him

Ironically, I was out of repels to use so remember, sometimes being out of repels is a good thing!
I remember that my first ever shiny in Ultra Sun came in my playthrough, with a full odds shiny salandit. It was male however, but I used him for the whole playthrough. Named him: "Flaccid".

My first shiny was a Dhelmise that was traded to me via wonder trade in Moon, but the first shiny I got myself was a lovely shiny Totodile I hatched in Moon

When I shiny hunt legendaries now, I always bring along a Harvest/Bestow Leppa Berry Phantum. Not because I lost one this way (although I did SR over a shiny Pheromosa once), but because I've seen others suffer the same fate.

Fun fact: I bred for salandit and salaazle (or however it’s spelled), and the first one was male but the second was female. So I got lucky.

Walks Intensely congrats. My personal best hunt is my celebi hunt in the vc crystal. Only took 767 encounters, then I also got a shiny litwick in 3 eggs, which was a nice surprise. Currently hunting that thrice damned rookidee. Have killed 3223 of them and still no golden bird for me.

Actually, you won't recieve another Manaphy egg if you reset Pokémon Ranger, so you have to get a brand new copy of the game every time to shiny hunt Manaphy.
My first shiny was a spinda in sapphire, I now hunt regularly with over 6 full boxes of shinys.
In the old games you could only get shiny I and V unknowns because the shiny chance is based off of IV. And to make it surprising, IV, only I and V unknown. Pretty cool.
My favorite way of shiny hunting is Ultra Wormhole method, I got 10+ shiniest from that, it’s also very fun to do.

There are a few innaccuracies in this video.... more than I feel like listing... but I'll at least clear up #1 You don't have to play through any ranger game multiple times to check for Manaphy. That's actually completely unnecessary. All you need is one egg (though having more than one does help) What you want to do is keep trading the unhatched egg between gen 4 games with new files and hope that the RNG details for the egg syncronizes with a Shiny frame on the new file. (Same odds as normal shiny hunting) however it can take anywhere between 10-30 minutes to check the egg on a new game.
As someone who's completed a Manaphy hunt..... That hunt is unbelievably tedius and "not fun" not to mention LONG unless you're extremely lucky... x3 I'm happy I got one but that's most of 2 years I'll never get back.

My first shiny is a Durant in Sword. I wasn’t even shiny hunting it, I only play for stories but since I caught that Durant I started doing Masuda Method and completing the pokedex to get the shiny charm.
I remember the first time I played ORAS (which was also my first Pokémon game, but I watched the anime and played the TCG since B/W) I was mindlessly wandering around the town where you fight the flying gym leader, and BAM, shiny Vileplume. I think I audibly yelled that it had to have been a glitch. I caught it first try and went on various websites providing screenshots of my “glitched vileplume” I was informed very quickly that it was normal, but very rare

I found a shiny darumaka back in Pokémon black when I was younger but I didn’t know what shinies were back then, I just thought my game was glitched so I didn’t trade it over when I reset my game
The fact that I put in hours and hours into resting for zygrade in Pokémon Y just to now see it’s shiny locked hurt a lot
Yesterday I caught 3 by chaining in x, the day before that I caught 2 shiny Poliwags 5 minutes from each other. Today I caught 1. And I started last week on Wednesday.
Shiny hunting is the thrill I miss from Pokemon. It's just so worth it! All those spent hours/minutes/days is totally worth it! To the people who haven't tried it I highly encourage you to give it a try. As of right now i'm currently hunting a honedge by using the Masuda Method.
Another cool thing is my brothers & sisters love shiny hunting when I do it, it's basically a thing we do as a family. a bunch of Pokenerds lol.
