Where was the point, in which Queen turned from rapper to business woman?
"That was from the beginning." She tells Sway. "There was no turning point. I knew I had to do, it was something I was doing in regular life."
Latifah started rapping at 17, and grew her empire from there.
What's next for this go-getter? "a lot of film projects, the talk show, & family," she tells us.

La's speaking voice is simply clear and smooth, like her rhymes have always been. I love Tracy G's articulation when questioning guests. Really, Sway and Heather B are cool and personable as well (and well informed) when anyone comes in to visit Shade 45.

If I may, I just wanna say that being from the streets, being hood, being "black", whatever, doesn't mean that you don't know how to act when you're out of that element. I don't ever think it's a matter of being someone else, or not being yourself, it's being like water. Knowing how to adapt and knowing what's acceptable.
It's not even a race thing. There's a time and place to be cordial, and there's a time and place to be a bit more uninhibited. She's a shining example of being like water. Long live the legend!

Weird as it may sound, the first tape I ever bought was Queen Latifah. I think I really liked the single, but I wound up loving that album. "Queen L-A-T-I-F-A-H in command!" Now, I gotta go back and check for those joints again. Give it to 'em, Queen.
She's a smart woman. She knows that there's a time and place for everything. You can't go into corporate America actin' a fool. Anyway, U.N.I.T.Y. is my favorite song from her. When those horns come on in the beginning of the song, it just takes you right back to '93/'94.

I think Queen Latifah should of more recognition in the hip-hop game, she is higly underrated. The production company and her label had mismanaged her. I think she should of been on a more active label such as Def Jam or Interscope records.
