Which you should be doing. Employers don’t want you taking about salary because they want to pay you as little as possible. I have a friend who started talking to his co-workers about how much they got payed and they realized that some were getting severely underpayed only because they started working years prior and had a lower starting salary so the x% raises weren’t doing too much for them.
It’s actually illegal to even ask you not to talk about your pay with other employees, let alone threaten or even take retaliatory actions… at least in the US.
