You are absolutely correct. This is not a boys fragrance. It is the fragrance for a grown man. I am 45 years old today. I did, however, wear this in my 20s. Only with suit and tie. And, I was more muscular back then. Honestly, what you need to carry this one off his confidence and an attitude to be perfectly comfortable with and proud of being a man. Today, it is not as socially excepted as it once was. Being a man is good. Being strong is good. Being confident and even a little aggressive is good. Colognes like these require balls to wear. You cannot shrink back. Wear them proudly.
Mine too..Have just buy it for the first time, since i Was a Young man on holliday in Mallorca(1983k)..And whauu i bring good Memories..Still smell so Special fantastic great..
Great review. You really captured the spirit of this classic fragrance. It's very early '70s but that's what makes it so timeless. So mossy and pine with a hint of vanilla. The green bottle says it all. Beautiful.
This was love at first sniff for me! Always thought there was something wrong with my bottles or skin chemistry, because the smell changed from the piny and green opening to a sweeter dry down. Now I understand it's meant to transform 😆
This is my “default” fragrance. Goes on very well, after a shower using Irish Spring soap. Smells manly, but not like Mr. T masculine…much more smoother of a man than that…a gentleman. The first time I smelled it I instantly thought of a barbershop with fresh haircuts getting passed out 😀
1973 huh .. 😎 my older brother wore this fragrance back in the day. Nostalgic to listen to the "vibe" of that same year: Temptations -Masterpiece. We also wore that song and album out in the early seventies
This review is spot on. Not the most natural smelling fragrance, i had an issue with the synthetic and oily feel and gave it away to someone who appreciates it more than i did.
Just bought this blind. The opening was okay but nothing special, it has a strong synthetic soap smell. Then the dry down comes and it mellows into an amazing masculine fragrance. If you like Kouros this is definitely worth adding to the collection. I'm really happy with it, and can see why it was such a success. Thanks for the review.
Hi bro, it was me asking you for the full review of this great classic. THANKS VERY MUCH! prph is one of my all time favs, beside Fahrenheit, Eau Sauvage, Zino, 1881 and Chanel PE. I even was able to collect all 1000 ml bottle styles from all decades - awesome decoration pieces when lined up! Currently I am on vacation on Mallorca, Spain, and I luckily found a 11 years old Fahrenheit in a perfumery here. prph surprisingly is quite costly here in Spain, its "country of origin", whereas it is quite cheap in Germany. Keep your great work coming and give a sh*t on comments from dumb haters! Best regards, Dan.
love the smell of this smelt it as my boss passed by asked him what it was .. and he helped me get it as he knew a store that was a wholesaler.. got it for around 38 usd.. it somehow reminds me of the good old days and trees and my hometown so love it :-D.. next up is invictus aqua :-D

Wow , but initially got very offended to be honest , changed towards good side and tonka makes nice during the last phase . Thanks for review and letting us know about this beauty.
My dad would wear ‘Brut.’ Glad I discovered PRPH last year. It’s reminiscent of brut to me. Now I can smell like my dad without copying him. I work in highway construction and wear it proudly out there. Definitely not a boy “stay indoor cause I’m a gamer” scent. ;) …(no offense.)
Sadly, (trying to hide my age😂🤣) I remember this as a young man working in London, everyone was wearing this fragrance. Liked it then, like it now, just bought a 100ml for £25 Great review my friend 👍🇬🇧
Hi . It looks like greener version of Kouros. It is 40 $ fragrance. How do you mean it is synthetic at the opening. It's not Chanel or Dior. I have seen your video about Antaeus. As you say " it's dark lord, niche, classy....) yes it is. But lust weak I paid 110 dollars for Anteus. It has amazing drydown. Dry and smoky leather. Fragrances like Azzaro Pour Homme, Paco, Aramis....are not bad at all. Best
I'm sorry that these aromatic fougeres and barbershop fragrances are not socially accepted anymore. These are the fragrances I love. Everyone else will have to deal.
I also use fougeres, some of us are making the difference using manly fougere fragrances. Believe me, some women love these fougeres, it has to do with traditional masculinity or manliness, great fragrances, specially this one, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, almost 50 years out there.
How is this for performance and projection compared to drakkar noir? I bought a bottle of drakkar noir And it only seems to perform projection wise for and 1 to 2 hrs.
Great video Joy. Are you able to do a review of the Gucci Guilty full line? I would appreciate your honest feedback on the various flankers. At this time I'm unable to get samples of each so your review would help a lot.
Im my 40's, my staple fumes are this, YSL Kouros, Boss No#1, RL Green & Drakkar. I don't ever want to smell like a metro unisex lollipop boy, real men wear real men's scents. The above mentioned are the to-go-to LIST

Wore it in the 70s. By the 80s I've moved on to newer scents. It was butchered by reformulation anyway. It's not the same perfume as far as I am concerned. It's not on par with current fougere like Bracken. The only classic I still wear is Dior Eau Sauvage, which is truely eternal.
Aspen and Paco have the similar "vibe"? lol They're in different leagues altogether. Aspen is what you might find next to the cash register on the way out of the drug store along with the tabloids. Now, the only reason it might have to "GROW" on s/one nowadays, is because they're used to the sweet, bubble gum, trendy stuff that define much of what's out in the market today, where there's nothing distinct about them. You've smelled one, you've smelled them all.
This was my first buy after watching video of joy besides the waterfall(!!!) at Malayasia and this is also the first buy of mine as frag collector. I was shocked after trying it..not in joy rather in disappointment. What have I got after breaking my bank..an old liquid barber soap...I have tried on my skin but didn't last that long. My friend with me was staring at me as I am asshole. After some days I have learnt what this is and what is called old powerhouse and why it is so special....
Bro you are a great reviewer. But you should just review the fragrances as it is and not compare them to reformulations. You seem to be obsessed with always bringing up the reformulations in every video. Whether the fragrance is reformulated or not, you should just explain that the performance varies from person to person depending on their skin chemistry.
thanks man.im not obsessed but i feel its important to put the info out there so people are aware of the fact that im not talking about the the vintage and later come and start asking questions.i still do tell how the newer ones perform :)
Charlie Sanchez what's the point of that? Too many reviewers get a hard on over vintage bottles misleading everyone then u buy the damn thing and it's been reformulated to hell and performs like water
northweezie1 It seems You too, have also misunderstood my previous comment. When you purchase a fragrance you are not guaranteed amazing performance just because it works well for someone else regardless if the fragrance is "reformulated" or "vintage". For example, if I have a reformulated fragrance, it may last 8 hrs on my skin and only last 2 hrs on your skin. Or if I had a vintage fragrance it may last 2 hrs on me and 8 hrs on you. It all depends on our skin chemistry.
Dear Indian brothers , this is no scent , its a cologne which is used in India in almost every low profile barber shop😂😂😂😂, dont buy this , i am very lucky that i tried a decant version😂😂
I've been wearing this for over 20 years and your description is 100% spot on.
Can't agree more. On it since the 70s

Great review! I bought my first bottle during my military service back in 1984. And I still love it.
This is the first ever fragrance I bought with my money. Beautiful fragrance.
I sprayed this on me at the mall. The next morning I woke up bald & driving a Ferrari.
I sprayed this on me at the mall. Next day I woke up in a suit saying to people “stay thirsty my friends.”
😂
The last bottle I bought was in 91, my new bottle will be here tomorrow!
I'm 18 years old and this scent my segniture scent when i wear it feeling comfortable
man i wish i knew this scent when i was 18 i recently found it and love it..
It's my new spring scent.
Where it with confidence. It’s a real man’s cologne. 👍🏼
Paco is King of the chess game. All you indoor gamer boys stinkin’ up the room with your dior savage.
Throbbing headache you give me!

Am 40 now...in 80 s i used it...and in the 2010 s till now mu favourite than all...mix of soap and a bit of lemon...adore it👍👍👍😊
So you used it before you were 11?? Fair play! 🙏🏻

Great review! Even in my ever-growing collection of 20 years I always have to have a 50ml or 30ml of the original Paco Rabanne PH.
Great review. You really captured the spirit of this classic fragrance. It's very early '70s but that's what makes it so timeless. So mossy and pine with a hint of vanilla. The green bottle says it all. Beautiful.
I got a 50ml vintage version of this beauty for £16. Absolute bargain
Edit: I'm 19 and I absolutely love it
This was love at first sniff for me! Always thought there was something wrong with my bottles or skin chemistry, because the smell changed from the piny and green opening to a sweeter dry down. Now I understand it's meant to transform 😆
Brought back memories from the 70s...
My favorite cologne, the newer colognes have nothing on this . The old classics are so much better
i agree, i hate these overrated tooty fruity unisex millenial fragrances
Its a classic 20 minutes it smells like water on a rock very invigorating green and fresh ...Young woman like it they think its a soapy scent
This is my “default” fragrance. Goes on very well, after a shower using Irish Spring soap.
