NCAA Champion, BYU Star Whittni Orton Goes Pro, Announces Her Sponsor!

Whittni Orton Morgan is the reigning NCAA cross country out of BYU who joins us to share some news that she has signed her first professional contract.
She talks to Chris Chavez and Kyle Merber about the process and what it means for her training group set up.
We talk through her career up until this point which included playing multiple sports in high school with her favorite being basketball. So how’d she end up running and got so good at it? We touch on her mindset and motivation to win an NCAA title - which was interrupted by injuries throughout her career for the Cougars and just when things were going right, COVID strikes. This was a real fun conversation before she makes her debut in the women’s 3,000 meters at the Millrose Games this weekend.

Hi Chris, great podcast again, but one small consideration on the intro where you introduce your guests. Could you please stop mentioning the purport of the message the guest will announce? So talk about that she's signing but not with whom (in this case) or that athlete x or y will announce their race schedule, but not that you give away the entire plan in the intro. That takes away a bit of the curiousity and excitement that the podcast triggers. Nonetheless, keep up the good work!!!
