Hard to believe that this never featured on any of their studio albums. For most bands, something so marvellous would be the highlight of their discography, but for Runrig, it's just one of so many masterpieces that they can almost ignore it.
TWAS ON ONE OF MY FEW JOURNEYS HOME THAT I STOPPED IN MOFFAT FOR A BREW ON MY WAY NORTH POPPED INTO A SHOP ON THE HIGHSTREET SELLING CLOTHING AND SPOTTED A RACK WITH TAPES ON PICKED ONE AT RANDOM BY RUNRIG ,SO STARTED MY LOVE OF THEIR MUSIC TO ALL WHO KNOW SLAINTE MHORE
Another case of love at first hearing! Having lived in Scotland, and walked in Sutherland, I got lightning in my veins hearing the music and seeing the picture.
The poor old MV Suilven. Sunk in a bay in the far east! She was excellent doing the North to South Islands of New Zealand, and ploughed through the very rough seas. Yes her best part of her life was sailing the Minch from Ullapool to Stornoway!
@AchmelvichIsAce That photo o' Suilven isna that bad, seeing as its taken from a plane and you can see Canisp as well. That must be Quinag in the background. Do you live oot Achmelvich, right bonny beach, white sand and crystal clear water, well it was LOL awa back in the mid sixties.
I spent 8 years of my childhood in the fishing village of Lochinver. Suilven dominated the landscape. A beautiful tune, thank you Runrig.
Lucky You living in such a enchanting environment❤

Beim erstenmal hören...geweint..
