I love your analogy of working a job compared to working for yourself. You’d think those who are making such comments would instead learn from what you have taken the time to share - you’re awesome !
Your 100% with what your talking about with society.. it's why the government doesn't like alot of old school homestead individuals. It cuts into the business based government system. Keep up the great thinking.
i watched you build your house when you first channel i think you are completely in your best type of life that makes you happy . keep it up and live it to your best life and enjoy it to the fullest. and the hell with the nay sayers .
I enjoyed your video. I just had some southern pine cut down and kept 26 logs. They are 18" to 25" diameter 12ft long. I was hoping to get a bandsaw Sawyer for hire. I don't know how much I will save by doing this. I just didn't want the wood to go to waste cutting up and hauled off.
If you don't have a sawyer yet try posting in a couple sawmilling Facebook groups. Lots of mobile sawyers network in the groups. Lumber is far more likely to get used than a log!
2 major points you missed 1 My corporate employers and managers also enjoy the benefits of my labor So i get paid $20 per hr. minus taxes = $15ish but i produces about $100 per hour of their product 2 You paid some money for those logs when you bought the land they grow on Plus the cost of your equipment. So $400 in 4 hrs. minus costs. You are keeping more than me but way less than a surgeon
6:15 you forgot to mention that your employer pays half of your taxes. Plus if you have benefits your employer probably pays for a decent portion of it. You probably makes something like 25-30 an hour and take home $15-18 an hour. Property tax…. Maybe more like $14-17 an hour. Inflation $10-14….. You have a great rant here. Government needs to be cut well over half.

Of course the employer only splits FICA, SSN taxes. Not income...
@@kerfsawmilling right.
If you are an honest person you do claim that money you make
No dishonesty here. All income is reported, but not all value generated. Governments don't accept payment of taxes in lumber anyway! :)
