He was telling the truth In the fact that a father daughter relationship is very sensitive. He feels it’s disrespectful for her to be expressing her self the way she has as an artist. Therefore he doesnt really support her. (How she likely sees it) he probably sees it as steering clear of something him as a father/man. Not to mention as a parent no matter how good or bad any of our parents have been the likely did the best they knew as at the time. She is an artist he can’t control how she expresses herself. If he wanted more say he’d need to work on being able to accept certain things. Which in most parent child relationship is tough if not impossible. Kids/adults say these things all the time the only difference is she is an artists with a bit of celebrity. She never made it known he was her father til recently really.
