I've been using this on my work MacBook for a few months now and I'm realizing having just watched this video that I'm not leveraging nearly any of its capabilities. This is incredible!
We just need this available on Linux as well so I can use it for my home laptop as well!
This is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time! Thank you for making this! It is beyond useful
Wow, warp seems very interesting. I love the idea of code blocks and easy command cursor navigation. Looking forward to it coming to Linux and Windows
I'm testing Warp and I'm loving it.
Amazing! I'll try it out!
omg i love your product! really upgrade my workflow
Fantastic!
awesome job guys!
Thanks for a nice demo.
Awesome Tool!!!! Love it!
Great Vid!
This is so dope!
such a great video, thanks!
This is amazing stuff!
Just beginging to learn Mac, after multi decades on Windows. I enjoyed this video very much Thank you!!
yo yo! LOVE it!!!
Very excited this is now available for Linux!!!
this is really impressive
simply WOW!
Awesome! one small feature I would appreciate on the next version, is that auto suggestions be case insensitive
amazing love it 🥰
waiting for support with pk10
nice precis, an entire days training course in 9m
I subscribbled ...
cannot wait to try it myself when the windows/linux build comes out.
We're so glad to hear this!
I've been using Warp for a couple of hours and loving it so far!
The only feature I miss from iTerm2 (so far...) is the "duplicate tab" shortcut.
Cmd + T essentially duplicates the tab
@@official.mhm13 Yeah I've been using Warp for more than a couple of hours now and don't miss "duplicate tab" anymore 😅
Amazing.
thank you 😊
This is great! I only miss the ability to use Warp as the integrated terminal in Visual Studio Code...
the Warp Ai is incredibly powerful more ppl should use. For years my goTo has been stack overflow. However Warp ai has answered some pretty hard questions I've thrown at it and it gives a very concise, clear, step by step answer. I still use vscode debug for a lot of terminal stuff but like most people have said. Warps terminal is a lot prettier and if it could integrate into vscode I would even buy it.
The warp AI is ChatGPT btw so you could go direct to source if that’s what you’re wanting out of warp (since warp apparently limits number of ai prompts per day and you have to be logged in and all that)
Amazing and mind blowing! o.O
Awesome intro, thanks. Is the starship configuration public? Love to have that 🙂

Immediately became me default terminal app 👍
Hi, thank you for your demo. I'm waiting Linux version to try it out. Some of functionality looks like a replacement of tmux features. And I have a few questions regarding it.
- Is there a zoom mode, when you can expand active pane to window full size and toggle it back?
- Is there functionality similar to what tmux-vim-navigator plugin is doing?
- Is there a sessions like tmux-sessions? So you can connect by ssh and attach to tmux sesssion opened on server. Or many users can connect to the same session and do a pair programming. Or you can close terminal, but tmux session keeps living and waiting until somebody attaches to it again. You can have some work dedicated home server and connect to it by ssh, attach to previously created and active sessions with all the windows and panes, opened files and vim editors which could live weeks, months as long as it needs to.
If this functionality isn't provided by Warp, it means that I am going to stay with tmux. Thus panes splitting and tabs functionality are irrelevant for me. Also as far as I understood Warp blocks not working in tmux, at least yet.
Nice if it has Vim keybindings, is there a way to add it?
Loved it for a week... The left back to fig. It has a lot to be desired
We're sorry to hear this. What are some things you'd like to see different in Warp?
Awesome! How can I integrate it to VSCode?
Enjoying it as my daily driver. One complaint i have is the autocomplete gives really bad suggestions. Like suggesting directories that dont exist, nearly every time.
Wow, I've been living like a peasant with my terminal.
When it will be available for linux and windows based laptops? I want to use on my wsl2 tho.
you have some really nice ideas about terminal workflows(rust, blocks) but I don't feel like sharing all my terminal activity and passwords with OpenAI or other AI Providers... and it is a little to much based on mouse interaction - integrate vim keybindings to win me over ;)
🤩
😁
Given all the issues around AI and security, my work place is VERY touchy about using anything that may send data across the web and then add AI into the mix and I am not sure that we will be allowed to use this terminal in the office , do you have any details about what data is send out to the net and chatgpt ?
Can you share your Starship configuration?
Can you direct me where to go to get Starship set up like yours?
Logging into Warp (Required) - HUGE no no instantly.
I uninstalled it instantly when the prompt asked for login... wth!
yea and it collects telemetry. instant garbage.
Probably due to the AI integration they require a login. But as a safety measure, terminals like this should allow local AI engines like Ollama to be used instead of the online monthly paid language models
I hope you release it for Linux soon. Btw, it's impossible to add reactions to the GitHub issue for this release request.
🤯
Is it possible to use Warp terminal with an IDE, let's say IntelliJ?
Why my warp terminal does not show >> git(branch)? Its the only thing missing here.
big!
very big!
The CTRL-G part to select multiple lines is not explained completely!
What do I need to do after I hit CTRL-G to select the other lines?
I hear an additional click / key in the video, but it's not explained!
Note after some fiddling: Seems I need to press CTRL-G multiple times.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Wait, how can you customize the prompt?
If telemetry and cloud features can be opted out, why does it still require login?
will this be coming to linux?
This is a literally game-changer! Is there a way to embed it in into an integrated terminal such as VSCode or Jetbrains?
There is no way to embed it just yet. We've logged it as a GH issue that we're aware of and figuring out how to prioritize!
@@warpdotdev Thank you! Does Warp open for contributors?
Yes, you can contribute to our open source repositories here:
github.com/warpdotdev/themes
github.com/warpdotdev/workflows
@@warpdotdev Thanks !
This will be yet another game changer once implemented.
is it possible to collapse a block?
Make it use Ollama and local language models for safety measures. We can’t trust an online terminal that monitors all letters and passwords we type in.
I tried Warp but couldn't find a bookmarks manager or address book.
There will be it for Linux also?
It didn't work on my Mac. I don't know if it's because I'm using iterm2.
3:34 FYI, it’s just called a hash (symbol) or a pound sign. A hashtag is a social media thing.
Warp is great if it for advertising on a large scale
Thank you! Are you asking if we are advertising large scale?
@@warpdotdev yes
Actually I saw warp before chatgpt came out and I was amazed. No worries you are helping coders to help during coding but like Linux if you made it open source software where people would come and develop it I think that would be a great choice. I would also contribute as a python dev
I love Warp! Could you please provide me with the value of PS1 for the starship prompt in this video? Thank you!
Here is a video (and corresponding blog in the description)

@@warpdotdev Got it, thanks!
When are you releasing on windows man...
when wrap coming in windows??
i use linux.when linux compatible will release.please provide me information?
Does warp work, for in-ide terminals?
Currently, there is no direct integration between Warp and other IDEs. However, we've built ways that make it easy for you to open up Warp from your favorite IDEs, like VS Code.

@@warpdotdev I think he meant more like Vim… and in my opinion there’s still a lot of work to be done there. I can’t use vim with warp and that’s why I use Kitty
I have a question what Warp exactly is ? is it like terminal that is in build on macs ? or like a coding platform ?
Warp is a terminal application!
@@warpdotdev so it works like terminal that is in-build in macs ?
@@LTTG81 correct
The installation is a bit unclear, I used brew and now I can't figure out how to start it.
I wish warp had center text when entering a command.
Do you mean you’d want the text in the input box to be centered instead of aligned to the left?
Hmm.. I struggle to see any real use case scanario for this tool..despite the the $$$ Warp raised already. I just don't see how warp could beat either Unix shells for people knowing shells or beat LLMS with an interpreter for people not being conversant with Unix.
Windows version needs!
Please.. Pleasseee make this available for all Linux user.. almost everydev love their linux for Shell.. So if we also get Warp + Linux Shell = Truly Legendary ❤🔥 terminal.
If you like warp, you'll love emacs!
Regret not knowing about this software sooner
Tried using Warp. It messes up my prompt. Kind of a deal breaker. I’m very particular about my prompt. If it didnt break my prompt I would probably use it.
What prompt do you use?
@@warpdotdev Starship with ZSH
@@warpdotdev it forces the prompt onto one line.
@@warpdotdev I think the other thing was the cursor. I like my cursor to be a blinking block. Sure last time I checked that wasn’t an option? Could be wrong.
@@damienbutt6320 Ah gotcha. The idea here is that most terminal experiences will have the input on the same line as the prompt, so prompts like Starship will allow users to customize their prompt to be 2 lines - that way the cursor will start on a different line than the prompt.
However, because Warp's input box is a separate UI "element" than the prompt itself, they are on different lines by default. You're correct that we do not support Starship's multiline prompt, but that's the reasoning behind it.
If it helps, here's a video one way we've set up a configuration for Starship prompt on Warp:
ua-cam.com/video/Xyr_EOmEB_g/v-deo.html
Please fix meta key for nvim
Waiting for linux version
Please make it for MANJARO LINUX.
PLEASE make it faster
nope
Too bad I found Warp and Zellij almost at the same time, Zellij took over almost all the features that Warp offers. And I can not live without Zellij.
bro please make it happen for linux
The fact you have to sign up for an account is an INSTANT “hell no, never.”
Would be nice if you didn’t have to sign in to use it.
why do you write this is rust any particular reason?
Not terribly impressed, lots of features described are already available in shells via one way or another. Others are basically tmux or other multiplexer session manager things. Which have added benefit of working everywhere (any term, via ssh and what not). So only thing missing (is it even, though, haven't check plugins and widget for shells someone could have made) is AI stuff.
Love all the haters. Their presence & persistence are a far more valuable endorsement than any promo materials Warp could put out.
Then again, I’d be salty too if I had memorized the entire MAN pages over multiple decades only to see an innovation come down the pipe that put earnest but inexperienced novices on equal footing with my miserable self all the sudden… especially as I watch them swiftly leave me behind as a result of said new amazing equalizer tool that enables them to work unconstrained, far more efficiently, and no longer pausing constantly to scan through outdated, poorly formatted, or opaque reference materials.
Once they begin to efficiently tap in to the massive benefits & time-saving efficiency courtesy of Warp, the massive creativity, imagination, ambition, and innovation deficits that I masked for so long by virtue of rote memorization or archaic protocols will become insurmountable.
It’ll be time to “cd careers” and “run: surrender” 😂🤣😂
(Because dinosaurs about to get blown past at WARP speed)
Kudos Warpdev team.
How is this even free?
If Warp requires me to log into an external network to access a command line on my computer, then it is by definition spyware. I will never install Warp.
Is this that dumb terminal app you need to sign in to use and have an internet connection to start?! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
it's so hard to listen information in this lady's voice. an ai voice would have been better than her honestly.
Completely asinine defaults and keybinds to boot lmao
😂🤮
🥹 Oh my gosh this makes me so happy, going to try it out asap 🎉
