Random Things Indonesians Say 🇮🇩
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 лип 2022
- As per requested - the Indonesian version! 😆🇮🇩 Most of these words are not "words", they're just...expressions. The only "words" here are "gitu" (like that) and "iya" (yes) but as you can see the words change meaning depending on usage and context 😅
Of course, expressions also vary greatly depending on region and dialect/local language. These are just the things I say or hear people say often ☺️
Also, there are a LOT of other expressions for OMG 🤣 There's also "latah", when people repeat certain words quickly when they get shocked (eg. "eh copot copot copot!"), and I think it's really just an Indonesian thing that doesn't exist in other languages 😲 but we can discuss that in another video 😉
What's your fave non-word expression? 🤓
*PS: I made a German version of this a few videos ago, check it out if you haven't! 🇩🇪

Non formal Indonesian is harder than formal Indonesian and this is one of the reasons why.
As an indonesian, i find formal indonesian harder 😊
@@mingfei7833 as an indonesian i agree
You can blame our alay (cringe) teenagers for this. Slangs pop out faster than rats breed
Not true, both you can just pick them up by listening and learning. Not only indonesian but every single language on earth. You just need to open your ears and give yourself time

That is not Standard Indonesian. Those expressions belong to Jakartan dialect. Only people living in Jakarta use those interjections. Indonesian people from other provinces use other expressions.

@@ramamonato5039yaelah, itu slang dari b.indo bukan slang khusus logat jkt doang.
As an Indonesian learner, I am surprised at the lengths Indonesians will go to not speak normally. The second I see Jakarta slang I begin to internally decompose
i'm sorry i think we actually can't speak proper indonesian 😭🤣🤣🤣
@@GESTEofficial That's why we usually dont get a good grade for Indonesian subject at school because proper Indonesian is kinda hard 😂😂😂
@@adityarahmandaAh... Now I know why in my certificate... I got my Indonesian language 68 out of 100 while my English 89 out of 100. 😂 It has always been a mystery to me.
Yes, because our archipelago country is fairly young, and the language has only been made official in 1928.
Long before the dutch colonization, it was many languages from different islamic, hindu and buddhist kingdoms spoken in their respective territories. This part of the history is what shape Indonesia's cultural diversity today, with the local languages standing strong against the change of times, ultimately affecting Bahasa Indonesia as well.
as a indonesian, i almost got remedial at every Indonesian subject tests
mereka bilang nada tidak memengaruhi arti di bahasa indonesia, padahal. wwkwkkw
1 kata bisa punya 2 arti berkebalikan, misalnya tahu/tau (know, bukan makanan ya).
kalo bilangnya "tau" dg nada pendek, artinya lu beneran tau, tapi kalo panjang "taaaau", itu artinya lu gak tau 😅
@@AkunPunyaPribadimencoba mempraktekkan dan meresapi, ternyata bener 🗿

formal Indonesian is painfully easy. . . until you realize that the spoken Indonesian is so much different. 😭

well, we also using eye contact in many cases, so yeah, "iya", "hah", "kok" and "kan" can have many different meanings....
We hardly speak formal Indonesia language 😂 the study facilities should teach daily conversations for those who want to live in Indonesia
Not really true. I first learn formal Indonesian, then joined Indonesian guild in an online game AND lived in Indonesia for about 6 months to learn spoken Indonesian. Both are easy, just the matter of how you learn it
If you learn colloquial/spoken Indonesian the way you learn formal Indonesian, then it's going to be hard. But if you have formal Indonesian basic and learn from observing convos of actual people, it's arguably easier
Ppl would call you weird/nerdy if u use formal public to commoners😭

Ya memang bahasa tulis itu baku, digunakan untuk pembuatan surat resmi, buku dan lain lain yang bersifat baku / autentik.
Sementara bahasa gaul dipengarugi penyertaan bahasa / kebiasaan di daerah masing masing tetapi masih mudah difahami, hanya sedikit ekstra bingung mikir.
Tapi sesudahnya malah tersenyum.

the synonym of copot is lepas, and lepas means off. Eh copot2 is the expression we usually use when we trip, surprised ( it is one of the many expressions that we call LATAH. Latah is the act when a series of words come out from a startled person. Most common words in Indonesia is eh copot-copot.)
