  • Could you live to be 120 - or even 180 - by “hacking” your biology?
    And what do the highest-performing, longest-living people on the planet do to stay happy and healthy well into their 90s and beyond?
    On this episode of The Dr. Gundry Podcast, I explore these questions with world-famous “biohacker” Dave Asprey. Dave’s the founder of Bulletproof Coffee and most recently the author of Game Changers: What Leaders, Innovators, and Mavericks Do to Win at Life.
    Dave interviewed over 500 experts (including me!) while researching Game Changers - and on today’s show, he’ll share some of the most important tips and secrets that you can use in your own life.
    We’ll also dive deep into the science of longevity and reveal some of our most effective “hacks” for slashing brain fog, reducing stress, and boosting your performance (no matter what you do).
    You’ll also hear why Dave thinks he’ll live to be 180 and why that may not be as crazy as it sounds.

      This is a great interview! Amusing as well as essentially informative. BTY, it's not just oxalic acid [oxalate] that's such a potent chelator of calcium [and other 2+ cations], but phytic acid [phytate] too. Heat from cooking will neutralize both. As an aside, purslane, although super nutritious, is the highest of all plants in oxalates.
      Plants with high amounts of oxalic and phytic acids are called goitrogens. These are mostly in the Brassica family of sulfur-containing plants. If you go to David Wolf's Longevity Conference-just as one example-you'll see lots of vegan woman with nodules or obvious goiter-with no idea why.
      One more point. Glycation, or Non-Enzymatic Glycosylation, is a major, if not the major, scourge of youthfulness and longevity. What are the most glycated substances & foods available to us? Roasted coffee beans; tobacco smoke; English Black tea; deep-fried potatoes; browned bakery goods; charred fat on meats [which also involves carbonylation of meat]; crispy skin on poultry.

    Enjoyed the interview with Dave Asprey. He has curated levels of knowledge and cutting edge information that very few have been able to do. At 25:23 he was asked
    to pick the one thing that {we} can do today to go onto that journey called longevity, but in his discussion on his rationale as to how he came up wit the notion of "live to over 180," I don't think he ever answered that particular question. Great conversation. Cheers!

    33:00 Spinach is higher, cacao etc there are sooo many foods high in oxalates. The staple of the Japanese centenarians is sweet potato, which is loaded with oxalates.

    Hey! I love being retired....I now have time to listen to videos such as yours and am still learning and applying the information. I think lots of people are missing out (the young people) when they constantly work and miss out on those informed! I guess Dave Asprey plans to get into a med bed when that technology becomes available if he plans to live to age 180! lol Glad to hear about kale in this video! The A.G.E. pill (capsules of anti glycation extreme) by Sisel Corp. is one of the anti-aging choices.

    My goal is not to live longer (we immediately get younger on the other side), my goal is to live younger NOW. The agendas are different (perhaps the approaches are the same).
    Thanks for doing this interview. I had just discovered Dave last week and was an immediate fan. Can we possibly convince him to create protein bars not based on cashews?

    Hello Dr Gundry - what blood test should we taking to confirm a diet is working for us?

  • @conglomeratehq
    @conglomeratehq 3 роки тому

    Just an add, as I'm surprised neither one of these fine people mentioned it, is that breathing (blood oxygenation) is the foremost catalyst that breaks down hydrocarbons (alcohols and sugars) in the bloodstream... therefore preventing insulin genesis to store these things to remove them from said bloodstream.
    Not doing so is the leading caise of alcohol poisoning, insulin resistance, and diabetes.
    It's a major compoment in exercise having SOME effect on fat levels.
    Breathing excercizes have been studied and promoted for over 120 years, in commonly available publications, as they relate to energy and focus.
    The correlation between de-toxifying your blood and metabolizing sugars into useful components (to create energy) is quite clear and under-communicated.

    Hi Dr. Gundry . I really need your help regarding sunflower lecithin is it good or bad. I would like to buy some keto bars for the family and I am worried this ingredient is poison.

    • @MindDrip
      @MindDrip 5 років тому

      I'm no Dr. G, but I think it's a safe choice, since it's isolated lecithin and not sunflower oil.

    I've got couple useful tips from Dave in the past but let me point it out that he promotes beef as a superfood. I'm kinda surprised he didn't mention it here probably to be respectful of Dr Gundry's views... No one will live 150 years if eats red meat.
