thats a keyboard an not a piano. It not as much keys as a Piano or a E Piano. I have the Yamaha CLP S406 but i am sure there are E Pianos for like 500$ or something like that for beginners.

You also do it so the hand can “rest” for a few moments :))
it happens magically.. sometimes in specific note i put my hand down on my lap for a moment, i don't know why that happen.. it's spontaneously.. xD
It depends on how much force you put into a chord because your hand naturally springs back
