You always seem to work your way through some of the nastiest trees. That split though!!

I actually enjoy these crazy puzzles. I hate the risk/danger involved because I never want anything to effect my family, but I've done it for so long now....that my family knows it's all part of the gig👍
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching

The worst thing is that you are risking everything for a client who tried to deceive you from teh beginning

I'd like to disagree with you, but I can't because you are only stating facts. Thanks for the comment & for giving me your time and attention!

      Yeah day 2 is in a lift👍
But day 3 puts me back in the saddle, because the lift wouldn't/couldn't reach everything

Enjoyed the video. That is a pretty big tree for sure. And the fact that it has a huge split that's held together with old chain and a come-along adds a magnified element of danger. I mean tree work can be dangerous as it is. But, add in a huge compromised tree....that's what adventure is all about. Look forward to future videos on this project. Nice work so far.

When the staub hits the chain, it shook the camera. Impressive! Great job and great video. Have a blessed week.

Yeah the camera has a built in stabilizer, but it still shook it regardless. Wish it would of shown how bad it was, but the stabilizer really minimized how it viewed in video.

This tree may have been saved with 3 or 4 long, thick bolts (3/4" All-Thread, big nuts & big washers) put through the cracked trunk. Up high where the trunks diverge pull the trunks together with a come-along then wrap some lengths of 5/8" or bigger chain to hold it all together under tension. Then released the come-along. The higher you put the chain(s), the more leverage there is to hold the tree together. I would have kept it, provided that the tree wasn't dead, (It looked very healthy aside from the crack). I would have never given up that much shade. Just bolt & chain the SOB together. (Sniff) Sad.

This tree failed & split because it suffered from rounded head syndrome (RHC) The tree was overgrown & because of the super stressed canopy, the trunk began to fail. Very few options here...
