I know this started as a legit 6.7 truck, converted to excursion. But does anyone know if using a Crew Cab Long bed truck, then splicing a Excursion cab onto the back of it would work with ZERO frame cutting? As the wheel base and total length equal the same. So I'd imagine everything "should" line up... But does anyone have some pointers?? Thanks!
This while possible, would be a HELL of a job. The issue isn't really the frame but the body. An Excursion is 227in overall and a CCLB is 266in overall. You'd have better luck taking a Crew Cab Long box and having someone weld the cab to the box, and then cut a pass through to the bed with a camper shell attached. Benefit of this is you could opt for a high topper shell, though the attachment for shell to cab would need a high quality gasket design. I think what we are looking at is exactly what you'd be asking for as it appears (at least to me) to be a crew cab 8ft bed and excursion mix that had a section modified for an additional larger rear door. If you were to do something like this yourself, you need to realize that that body (for the excursion) once cut is going to flex like crazy when being moved and will need stablizer bars and the windows removed to prevent them from shattering. (experienced steelfitter and Excursion owner) Honestly this is more of a status symbol than truely useful, I doubt anyone's going to get maximum useage out of this but I will say it is quite cool.
