It's not just romanticism or traditionalism, well built steel frames really do have a lovely feel to them, partly because they flex. It just makes them feel "alive". Too many manufacturers aim for ever more stiffness and forget about feel. Well done Ritchey!
The reviews on this channel have been excellent this year, and this is great again, the right mix of factual overview and personal experience riding the bike. Well done!
Loving the reviews, David. Your reviewing style really appeals to me ! The fact that you’ve reviewed a bike that is always on top of my “next bike” list is just perfect. Thank you mate, your smashing out the quality reviews.
I have a 2 yr. old Road Logic. Was just at my local shop. I asked could he get this? I can park my Diverge and Crockett . Thin the herd. Ride a Ritchey. They have soul. And look great. My expensive Madone just hands around most days
Recently got one and built it up with parts from my touring bike, my word, it's a sweet bike. It is a racy geometry bike, if you want something which is closer to your road bike than the typical gravel bike, it's perfect.
Excellent, thoughtful and fun review, good job! This is one of the two to three cross bike framesets I'm contemplating and this review is really swaying my pick at the moment. Cheers! #ritchey #swisscross #frischi
my Ritchey Swiss Cross Canti version (with World Champion panel accents) gets all the compliments where ever i take her. not to mention, i run CAMPAGNOLO 10-speed
smp156 - I’ve always eyes off a canti Swiss Cross but not sure if max tyre width. Can you run 38s on it? Or are you comfortable on less than that? Love that bike.
I wish you could review the new Road disc version of that frame. I'm getting ready to buy one for my son and get him into biking for fitness. The road version is almost identical but narrower and I've herd two specs on the size tires 30mm and 32mm, be interesting for me to see the 30mm clearances.
One thing I don't understand is why there should be a cable routed over the top of top tube? My Cx bicycle has 3 cable over the top of top tube, one for Fd, one for Rd, and 1 for rear canti brake. Kindly enlighten me.
Swisscross doesn't need wider tires. If you want to run 50mm tires, get an Outback. SwissCross is a race bike, made for Cyclocross. IT has more than adequate tire clearance for it's intended purpose.
gravel geometry is completely unnecessary, cross geometry is more than slack enough. swisscross would be nearly perfect with fender mounts. slightly more engaging geometry wouldn't kill it for soft road or cross use either.
Right. Looks like it's around $2500 AUD for the frameset- i'd much rather pay $1400 AUD for a Soma Fog Cutter. Can't go wrong with the Tange Prestige double butted CrMo steel tubing.
Sorry was replying to Cliff unfortunately no canti version nor any plans to bring it back. There isn’t much demand according to a Ritchey rep it’s a shame.
Cliff Eastman Yup but not in my size 53, let me rephrase that the Rep had no insight on whether or not they will continue with cantis as demand just isn’t there. Let’s start a petition ;).

Also bought a Logic and sold my super six just wasn’t riding it. Steel has soul.
Couldn’t agree more

Glad you're liking the reviews! This is definitely the kind of thing we want to do more of 👍

I just bought one today. Replacing my old canti braked Ritchey CX breakaway. Excited.
Enjoy it!

Great review. Agree with other comments about the quality of your content. Informed informative stuff. Top work.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it!

Pft... I make him look good 😉 Joking aside we're glad you're enjoying the reviews

@@SIvers-or2ke 38 fit easily.
Late 2020 I'm waiting for my Logic Road to be delivered. Can't wait
Great review detailed and to the point
Steel is real! There really is nothing like the ride-feel of a well-designed and built steel frame
A review/comparison to the Ritchey Outback would be welcomed.
Great review!👍🏻🔥
Thanks very much
Great video and beautiful looking bike! What's the comfort level of a Ritchey SC compared to other CX bikes or gravel/adventure bikes?
Just thinking. I would love to hear your thoughts on a side by side review between the Outback and Swiss Cross
I'd like to hear this too!
Me three
Dave. How tall are you and what size is that frame? A large? Apologies if you said in the vid I had to watch it with the sound off! 🙊

It’s for when you’re shouldering the bike during a CX race. The cables are positioned on top so they don’t get in the way.
Please do more steel gravel bikes.
We will see what we can do!
Cool. Nice bicicle ♥
what handlebar's are on that bike? thanks in advance. :-)
One of the best looking bikes
Top with the new Campa Edkar
This bike is so pretty.
Imagine if Ritchey had some tech like CAAD by cannondale but for steel🫶🫶🫶

Nice, seems like it's meant to be able to put miles on training and then race on

Whats the weight?!?!
God, that music is irritating. Please consider not playing music while you are talking.
Third water bottle mounts and fenders have no place on a cross bike
The problem is also the price, for a bike that isn't versatile at all this is to expensive!
I was born in 1994
Nice but much to expensive. I mean you pay 300-400€ for the name only...its no more rocket science today to build a good steel frame.
Right. Looks like it's around $2500 AUD for the frameset- i'd much rather pay $1400 AUD for a Soma Fog Cutter. Can't go wrong with the Tange Prestige double butted CrMo steel tubing.
Disc brakes really spoilt the good look of the bicycles. it truly is the biggest gimmick in the history of bicycles. it is really sad.
Not anymore.
@@Massproduce201 with the disc brakes, aerodynamic is down the drain.
