Here's a poor man's cabin filter (been doing that for years on my MK2): buy that fluffy white fat filter for kitchen extractor hoods and simply wrap it over the cover (as seen at 19:54). Secure it with a ring of cable ties all around and then use a scissor to cut off excess filter material at the sides.
And you sir are a blessing 🙌 🙏 I did my vr6 swap on my mk2 golf 10 years ago and there is only one thing I hate about it and that is the mk3 clocks. I have 160mph clocks from a early 16v and I am I hope I kept the wiring! If not I will be on the hunt for those 2 plugs! I want mk2 clock back so bad! Amazing work sir!
That graveyard was insane! Great work on the clock bro and congrats on the first Resto Design product!! 🙌🏽 Look forward to getting some merch in the future! 👊🏽
Thank you friend, with the prices of the clocks and mk2 parts, I was very lucky to have found this one at the price I got it, so I had to make it work 🤣
Great and very useful stuff! Question: What is your oil pressure on idle, and what on higher RPM? On my ABF it was on 5bar all the time, and I think it shouldn't be that way.
Thanks, it differs due to oil temp, from cold the pressure is high at idle and then drops between 80-110C to about 2 bar, at 120+ drops to 1bar at idle.
@@RestoDesignsnando It was an original sender and gauge on ABF Cupra. Now it's all apart. Engine is gonna go for a rebuild, but this is still bugging me why was it on 5 bar all the time. :/
@@RestoDesignsnando okey so i bought a mfa speedometer and im on old installation golf so what changes do i need to do to connect all that like fuel and that info sorry for bad english its not my native language
@@RestoDesignsnando but besides that first i want to connect a cabble from alternator to rev counter how i can do it and witch wire on the jack is the for revs?
Hi there, there is a insta link in the about page here on UA-cam, at the moment they are sold out, hoping to have the next batch soon, as well as one's for UK RHD mk2's
Great tutorial on the cluster wiring
Thank you!

Nice little tour Nando
Thank you for another interesting video😊👍 actually I never thought of using a ce1 clock on a ce2 wiring. That was pretty cool😊👍

Yeah the ce2 ones are not really cheap at the moment🫣😊
Gud vid 👌
Thank you mate.
Your old cluster wrote until 200 or 220kmh , the new one that you fitted reaches 260 kmh , doesn't it need calibration? Or it shows the right speed ?
It shows the same speed, using Google maps the GPS error is the same from the 200km to the 260km.
Where is this junk shop that went to get the parts?
Great and very useful stuff!

@@RestoDesignsnando Mine was all the time at 5 bar. So it's either a bad sender, or something with the oil pump?
@@KRAMPUS_G60_16V Is your oil a 5 bar gauge? What sender are you using?

@@KRAMPUS_G60_16V ok I think it's a wiring issue more than an engine/oil pump issue.
Have you ever done ce2 cluster in ce1 car can it be done
And did you solder the wires
I did.
Yes I have, it's the same process just in reverse.
@@RestoDesignsnando thank you
