Wow this is bringing back memories. I did a clinic with Mac about 7 or 8 or 9 years ago...he said it was going to be his last one. Palm Springs, I was a 3 handicap and by far the weakest player in the group of 10 guys. A tour player everyone knows was there. Another older player who finished 2nd at the US Open back in the day. Bunch of elite amateurs. One or two Asian players. Mac was a tireless worker. He never sat down and never ate or rested that I can remember. We were hitting balls in the dark every day for a week. I would do it again.
Mac and the PGA didn't see eye to eye a lot. Mac wanted to enter the 4-ball tournament by himself, where he played two balls one left-handed, the other right-handed. Unfortunately the PGA wouldn't let him do that.
How many more of these do you have? We have a UK Top 50 instructor in Scotland who teaches MORAD and he did a day clinic with Mac back in 2006 at Drumoig for £1500 per day, or maybe it was dollars. He has footage of Mac too on tapes somewhere but he can't find them.
Thanks Kevin. Is a shame about Zavin. I was looking forward and hoping to see his contribution to these videos. Plenty of nuggets of great info in these videos. Enjoying the content so far 😀
At 17:30.. Mac states hands going around in a perfect circle post impact- Golden nuggets there like no tomorrow. Light bulb moment for sure.! That alone is a 10 handicap reducer!
Kevin, do you know if there’s any video of Dave Stockton talking about his time with Mac? It’d be interesting to hear his thoughts now almost 40 years later.
Mr. Hogan dictated The Modern Fundamentals...HWW simply took dictation and then helped articulate some of Mr. Hogan's concepts with words (supination, pronation, plane, etc.) that Mr. Hogan lacked...Mr. Hogan reviewed all of those words almost daily during the writing of it

Like us all, a falling out was inevitable with Mac. I haven’t heard Dave talk publicly about Mac in recent years.
Goooooood
Best golf swing, best understanding of the swing in history. I was fortunate to work with Mac from 1986-90. Love this guy, what a giver!

Agreed. Mac’s early understanding of authorship was skewed.
