    I'm loving the videos and learning a ton about trading, but I have a question. How do these concepts translate to swing trading rather than day trading?
    I am an engineer by day and am opening a trading IRA with a very small amount of funds to trade with as a hobby. Since I don't have the time to devote and I only plan on doing it as a side gig I like the slower pace of swing trading. However, I love the content you make and plan on instituting almost everything you talk about. That said; I also don't want to be inadvertently making the mistake of applying something you do in day trading that doesn't work the same in swing trading. Can you help a brother out?

    • @DisciplinedTraderUK
      @DisciplinedTraderUK  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Kent, thanks for the feedback, really pleased to hear you're finding the content helpful. Nearly everything I've discussed on this channel applies to trading on the whole, regardles of what style of trading you do. So no problem there. I actually mainly swing trade myself currently so all the upcoming content will be based around swing trading rather than day trading anyway 👍

      I just can't get my head wrapped around the 1%/2% statement, I mean isn't it a bit low? I've made 80+% on a couple of trades, trading crypto with a 10x leverage. Have done a lot of dumb shit and lost those profits but I'm pretty sure I could keep them if I had more knowledge and did less dumb shit lol

    • @DisciplinedTraderUK
      @DisciplinedTraderUK  2 роки тому

      Hi Jonathan, I've used various strategies over the years and some of them work better with a trail stop and some of them work better with the set and forget method. It all comes down to what your testing shows is the best method to use 👍

    2:45 10 20 50% of what from their trading (as info i started a demo account today and only traded bitcoin, i only used sell or buy and later then bought or sold and after 15 trades in 1 day and always buying or selling 1 btc i have finished up with +1100€ and i dont have that much info yet, so i think if yo uare good at it you can get at least 5 to 10k a month consistently i mean i got over 1k in 1 day without knowledge so if you mean 10 20 or 50% of their job wages then i would disagree but yeah idk and i also know that this day was probably also very lucky for me but still 14 out of 15 trades bringing me money just from buying and selling with the thought '' i think its gonna go down now'' is quite decent right)

    • @DisciplinedTraderUK

      @@DisciplinedTraderUK i fully understand that thats why im currently demo testing with these margins so i feel more comfortable with it, currently its looking promising for the future which means if i give it a lot more time maybe i will start doing it if i traded like 2000 times lets say and was right about 1200 to 1400 times then im confident enough but still thanks

      There isn't really a set time QuietGamer. There are lots of variables that will affect your average trade duration. For example, if you aim for 3 to 1 on your trades, these are likely to take longer than when looking for a 1 to 1 risk to reward on your trades. If you have backtested your strategy, you will get a guage of how long it typically takes for your trades to play out. Hope that helps 👍
