I just wanted to say that every few months or so I come by here to read new comments on this video. Over 7 years later and still the amount of kindness and support I see in the comments blows my mind. I don't think I've ever seen another video with a comment thread so positive and heartwarming. It's especially cool to see that many of you grew up on this video (and man does it make me feel old). Having a little girl of my own now, it means that much more to me. So again, thank you for everything you all have said over the years. I read every comment and they make my day better every time. - Andrew Meduri
Checking in April 2022. Remember watching this when I was a young kid after beating Crisis Core. A lifetime has gone by and I suddenly remembered it. Still made me shed a tear. Hope it lives on.
I'm almost thirty and I remember back in high school this is the only thing running through my mind. this is just pure awesomeness even until now im glad its still here.
2:45 onward... that part hits me... SO hard in ways that you can't even imagine, even if I didn't have the knowledge of Crisis Core, it was just timed so amazingly well... and it hurts... You definitely did amazing on this for it to be such an older GMV. :D
I remember finding this when I was in 9th grade, sooooo long ago. This is by far the best AMV I will ever watch and I continue to tel this to my friends to this day. Always my favorite, never remove this! It's gold!
I really truly grew up on this video, my dad showed this to me when I was a kid and I went around ages 6-10 telling everyone how my favorite song was called 'this is war' and it was so cool. Rewatching it is like reliving my childhood. I always eventually end up back at this video, it feels like a piece of me.
With rebirth coming out in a week, I came back to watch this again. Still hits me the same as the first time I saw it. Thank you for this video, honestly!
After 7 years, I've finally remastered This Is War and you can find it on our new gaming channel. I did my very best to keep the remaster as a frame by frame clone of the original, but entirely with HD or upscaled videos. I hope you guys like it just as much as you enjoyed the original. Also, we'd really appreciate it if you guys could subscribe to our new gaming channel once you watch the video. We have several other music videos as well as tons of gaming content for you all the check out there. Thanks! - Andrew Meduri
The Zack and Cloud scene where Zack is talking to Cloud always gets me. From the on, I'm just a sobbing mess. That's how good this is! I'm so glad that Final Fantasy was created. This is my favorite video game franchise ever! It's been five years since I first found this video, and every time it gets me at the same part. That's how well this video is made! Great job!👍🏼👍🏼❤❤
I remember discovering this when it came out 14 years ago, to this day this is one of the most well put together AMV's I've ever seen in my life. Up there with Ichigo vs Grimmjow goodbye by sr-71.
I came across this video years ago and I still find myself coming back to it. I'm older now and have come across a lot of problems and obstacles so I'm really glad to know that this video will always be here, one of my constants in life no matter what changes I have to face.
I'm back 10 years later, all because I wanted to show my mate the video that has changed my life so much, and I found I had a comment from back then. Still crazy how much this video still affects me and how I've grown with it.
I just re-remembered this video while going through and introducing my wife to the FF7 compilation And I legit haven't cried so hard in years This will always be one of my most favorite things ever made I love you for this So Dadgum Much
I used to Rollplay FF7 on Bebo back in the days, and it was videos like these that I would finish school to come home and just play on repeat. To any one these days it would seem bizarre and weird. I'm now Engaged, I have my own house and 3 children. Times are great. ❤ Hope everyone who reads this is flourishing in life, and if you aren't! Just know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. God bless👊🏻
I watched this back in 2012, and God this takes me back. Now that there will be a FFVII Remake I remember this video suddenly. Hope you are having a great time of your life! Still thanks for making this great video!
I've seen this video probably a thousand times, and I still love it. From start to finish. I honestly consider this one of my favorite music videos of all time.
I still come back and watch this every so often. It's just genuinely so incredibly done. I've never even played the game/story that it's about but I can feel the whole story, the emotion, everything. Sick job my dude
I'm so glad this is still around. I must've first found this about ten years ago now? For some reason watching it again has brought me to tears. I guess the nostalgia just hit me like a truck. I always remember that blend of Cloud's scream with the song, the buildup and the crescendo, with the scenes from Advent Children. Many amvs that were beloved and core to my growing up are gone, but I can't describe the relief and joy I felt knowing this was still up.

Such a great video. I remember being an emotional teenager when I found it. I had just finished Crisis Core on my psp 2000, and spent my days listening to 30 Seconds to Mars. This video brings memories of three different portions of my mid teen years all at the same time. A great video indeed.
Ahh one of the best videos on youtube for sure. I saw this when I was a kid, and even now, it still takes me back to that time of imagination and simplicity. Thank you for still keeping it on.
I can't believe its been eleven years since I first I stumbled upon this video. I really like thirty second to mars but I didn't know anything about FF back then. However, this video was so amazing that I found myself checking it out. I'm still not a gamer but I thank you for introducing this gem to me.
I never had a console to play any game in the Final Fantasy franchise, but when I found this video I felt such a great emotional connection with all the characters and settings that were unknown to me that it was permanently etched in my memory. it's December 11th 2020 and I just turned 21... I grew up with the Final Fantasy games and movies. This video has just brought back the exciting feeling I felt when I watched the stories for the first time. I never heard this song and its not really my style, but I cried. The overwhelming and familiar feeling I'm experiencing just makes me love the series more.
Took forever to find this vide again, one of the best fanmade music videos I have seen, and one of my favorite Final Fantasy vids out there. Love your work, hope to see more.
I've been watching your vid for years and it's still one of the best out there. Cloud screaming in it really sells it. That is a tortured scream and I think the first time I watched this it brought tears to my eyes. Congrats on such a good vid 👍
This was my favorite video in 2011; Today, after several years without seen it, i just found it and the feeling was indescriptible, nostalgic af, you marked a part of my preadolescence with the best avm ever, i just can say thanks man.
I've played just about every final fantasy game there is and seen the movies... I freaking love this. Really makes you feel like your part of the fighting.. My fave final fantasy video 😍
Having played Crisis Core and knowing what Zack means to Cloud, the whole damn adventure about Angelo...and then this absolute gem of an amv is why I keep Zack as my PfP. He was the perfect character for tying all of FF VII together, because he is just so much of all of it without the question as to why he has to choose sides. Ultimately, he chooses to defend both Angelo, and Cloud, even knowing Sephiroth is a friend. He hopes for the best! Though he doesn't get to see it at that end, he knows good will overcome evil.
This video...wow....I barely knew what final fantasy was when I arrived here, back in 2011. It was the first time I had heard the song. It just blew me away. I was sitting there, in a dark place. I was procrastinating homework and stumbled upon the video. I literally just stared at the screen, transfixed. I turned it up, put on my headphones, and just watched intently. When it showed Zack dying and Cloud screaming, I cried....for a good long time. The song...the video...Just perfect. Bravo. Bravo.
Back here again, I watched and commented on this 7 years ago and rewatching it now, I still love it to bits! The video, especially the cutting together of the FF7/Cloud/Zack/Sephiroth storyline is better than most current movies! It gives me the feels to this day. Amazing work, thank you Andrew. It just makes me want to go back and play all the parts of the FF7 Saga and makes me want the remakes and for the story to continue forever.
The attempt to present almost each and every main clashing protagonists in all of the Final Fantasy franchise, as well as the inclusion of Noctis, is commendable. This is the best made video of this song I've seen (minus my bias on Final Fantasy). I'm guessing the 256 people will know what The Void looks like.
