- Somehow, we don't hear much what Prevé gives. 10 years ago, what we knew was:
- another Proton's model
- replacement of Waja
- supposedly a breakthrough model that tops all other previous Proton lineups.
Now, after 10 years, DGD finally get to drive this vehicle. It is indeed full with surprises! Why surprise? Because it's from a quickly forgotten model It gives us features like:
1. Curvy paddle shift that you can 'park' your fingers comfortably
2. Very responsive transmission. 7 speed!
3. Improved Campro engine roaring feeling
4. Entertainment system - got working navmap!
5. Digital dash/meter
6. Very huge boot space (biggest compared to Waja and Persona)
7. Fuel efficiency not bad considering a 12 yr old car
8. Smart key knob
9. Neat and simple dashboard layout (still looks modern though)
10. Banyak lagi, tak larat nak type dah
If you are looking for a reliable car and don't want to pay any monthly commitment, Proton Prevé could be a strong contender for you.

Best jugak preve turbo ayah saya pun dh ada tapi saya belum besar tunggu lagi 4 tahun boleh la bawak kereta preve ni yang penting handling mmg sdp 👍
I'm an owner of preve from 2012 until now... I was thinking to sell it due to CVT failure after 10 years old & 200k km mileage clocked... And I'm thinking to buy a new car that is below than RM100k... but after several months of car review & test drive I guess I will never find any car which gives similar driving experience & performance as preve with almost or the same new preve's price tag... All cars below 100k way to bad compare to preve's performance ride & handling... So, after a lot of thought, I end up rebuild my CVT transmission and continue to enjoy my preve until I could find one below 100k car that can match preve's driving experience & quality... I guess I won't find one tho... Haha...
200k km lama tu... tahan jugak. Try pasang cvt oil cooler yang lagi besar.
Hi, may i know how much does it cost you to rebuild the cvt gearbox? Been thinking to buy a preve cfe too recently. Not sure if i should.
Also does the year 2012 ones have Isofix? Because thinking to buy it as a family car
@@chaiminhua7727 it cost me around 4k to rebuilt the transmission... However, I recommend to change a new transmission which will cost around 8k for a less headache in the future... It's because the rebuilt transmission is using aftermarket parts which will not last too long... Maybe 2-3 years life expectancy from most of the transmission rebuilt case for preve... Yes, my preve CFE which is the premium version do have an isofix... Fyi, I've sold my preve as I've found the worthy car which cost me less that a 100k that I think match the package of a preve...

Openings the trunk for the last seven years I use the remote, so my key hole still shining no scratches 😁 driving dynamic 👍 the steering rack bushing lasted three years only, though it’s cheap but its could be last longer if the clamp size a bit smaller, the down side of Preve is I need to buy a RM140K+ car so not to feel something missing when driving especially the corners straight line too for normal 170-190kmh stability

been driving my moms preve for quite sometime now (executive model). i simply love how the car drives apart from the sluggish cvt, i've got no complains. easily one of the nice driving car out there in my opinion.
My family has 2 preve turbos. Very fast on the blok, not sluggish at all, depends on how you drive.
@@marinaau8551 i think it's not the engine its the gear box. the turbo variants has different gearbox so the driving experience may vary

@F9Fad - terima kasih, fair comment. Kami rasa pasal mungkin model ni 1st Proton model ada ready turbo. Jadi mungkin efficiency belum optimum lagi.
I’m using Preve 1.6 Turbo since 2016. At the early days got some issues & the biggest issue is need to replace the gearbox. Fortunate enough it still under warranty that time. The paddle shift & Sport mode is obviously outstanding compared to the other cars brand with same segment (Vios, City etc). Thinking about to sell this car but obviously fall in love with the performance, especially the S mode.

@@aj-qb6dg it will increase your RPM to get the max torque quickly.
@@aj-qb6dg more suitable for going up to Genting highlands, on normal highway you get torque but not the speed, Once I forget to return the mode from S to D for a long highway distance, the gearbox overheated, D were enough for highway, that’s my own judgment
change to a bigger oil cooler, that will increase the gearbox reliability. The standard one is quite small.

@glaser85 - good observation and thanks for the input, by right kita dah tukar gear sebelum pusing, but yes, sometimes, kita terlupa. Preve punya paddle shift mmg membantu

I've always wondered what could be the main reason for this car's poor fuel consumption? A turbo'd car is supposed to make the engine more efficient. Is it the sluggish cvt gearbox? And why hasn't anyone have tried retuning the cvt to have better performance & fuel consumption?
Spot on. I wonder the same too. Probably that's why Preve, once a high-potential car quickly became less successful as they intended too.

@Fizzy Kanjo - pendapat saya, yes masih berbaloi. Masih boleh buat macam-macam dan kasi sporty look. Handling memang best kereta ni, dan bila drive malam, lampu-lampu kat dashboard pun masih nampak menawan.

tak.. ramai dalam group cakap underpowered lepas tu clutch pump selalu rosak. Kalau beli turbo cuma perlu tukar oil cooler hose setiap 40k dan cvt saja (selain wear & tear parts lain2).
Lagi puas guna turbo.

@@HMEMM cvt tu memang mahal kalau repair pun 3-4k. Tapi kita simpan je duit sikit2 khas untuk cvt. rasanya sama je kos macam tukar clutch pump selalu. Lagi satu minyak cvt tu sepatutnya kena tukar setiap 20k. Ramai tak perasan benda ni dah tulis dalam buku. Saya pun sama. Cuma perasan ayat tukar minyak dan filter setiap 60k. Tapi minyak dia saja kena tukar setiap 20k.
