Awesome video, very thorough testing. The full set up looks great!
Would I be right in thinking the old formula risers, like my Prodigy, use the "Smooth" pivot point? As the limbs make contact with the dowel either side of the pin. Bringing the pivot blocks out to the edge of the limb pocket is more like the ILF design. Very interesting! The 1FPS gain is not much of an issue, but the shot feel sounds much more impactful and less noise is always a bonus.. Each setting might require a different brace height to work most effectively/quietly though. Still it's a great design, always nice to have more things to tinker with and tweak, good job Hoyt. Now just make me a 27" version.. haha! Happy shooting Anthony.
Thanks Anthony for this great review. Would you be so kind to share the spreadsheet with the measurements with us?
When is the xceed video coming out? I just pick up one I'll be good to see some stats between those modes
Anthony,
This was a great review with lots of good feedback.
If you agree, I could show you how to process the data in excel to display the lbs/in curve which is often used to objectively assess smoothness.
Sounds great I will like to learn more about that. I am honestly not a master at Excel and Google Sheets
@@shoreshotarchery Find me on Facebook and message me.
That was some great analysis..... Thank you Anthony. Did you have to adjust brace height when you moved between the settings?
On other note, I liked "Anthony here" (was kinda your trademark) than "my name is Anthony".
You probably dont care but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last few months =)
@Keegan Gordon definitely, I have been using Instaflixxer for months myself :D
Almost a year ago, but I have a question. From minute 18 on, you show the table with draw length, draw weight and difference between the weights.
How have the values in the colored columns been calculated? I can't figure it out. If I try to do the math, I come up with completely different values. Your values do not make any sense for me. In the diagrams you can clearly see that the curves become steeper and steeper the longer the draw length is. But your numbers are getting smaller and smaller.
Sir which one should i buy
Xceed or xi
For smooth performance
I agree. Hybrid is a little noisier. I'm using uukha limbs... I feel that the I can't get the performance setting to work because of the shape of the limbs' pivot point. It's not making full contact with the stt pegs
Very interesting that makes sense
Very interesting. I've got an Xceed in the mail and will be shooting VX1000s. Good to know, I might stick with the middle position. The smooth setting is probably going to be too soft with those already buttery smooth limbs.
Is this the Hoyt response to the Gilo GT? Any plans on testing that?
I would like to but I have not been sent a test riser yet
Would each setting putting any more stress on the limbs changing the life expectancy of the limbs?
I don't think so but time will tell. To test that you would need many full set ups and have a machine shoot them. Currently I have about 8,000 shots on the Formula Xi and Velos limbs and have had zero problems.
Hello, I lost that part, so can I buy it separately?
You would have to contact your Hoyt dealer
Hello.. What is the limbs draw weight on this bow you shooting?
46# but the limbs are 42#
@@shoreshotarchery thanks for replying. Actually I just ordered a Hoyt Formula X, Im a bit confused about the limbs weight that will suit me. I have been using a recurve Sanlida X8 beginner's ILF with #18 limbs since the past 1 year. I would like to buy the Formula Velos limbs #30, I'm a bit doubtful about whether this poundage will halter my form. What are your thoughts?
@@shadmx3912 @Shad Mx 30# might be a bit heavy just to jump into. What you could do is just do reps with the 30# limbs (draw back dont shoot), Untill you get used to the weight. Durring that time keep shooting you old bow and limbs. To maintain your form
Bow sounds a little sick
Why do you use weights on your stabilisers above the dampers??? I think using dampeners above the weights is more interesting. Sorry for my english. Hi from Ukraine)
You want weights on both sides of your dampeners to make them work more effective
@@shoreshotarchery I’m almost sure that if you move the weight below the damper and take the correct ring on your v-box it will reduce more vibration. It would be interesting to see this comparison in video
@@user-kv1ke9zn8v It depends on the system but I usually need a similar amount of mass directly or at least close (leverage) behind the dampener to act as counter inertia to the moving weights in front of the dampener. This effect is called "phase cancellation". Unless you are not using very small weights the stabilizer itself will likely not be able to achieve this. You are perhaps more likely to amplify the vibration through through the opposite effect. I have had stabilizers vibrating loose when I have not had enough mass behind the dampener. This will not happen if you have set up the balance on each side of the dampener correctly. Which will vary on each bow system
To really show comparative tests the archer should not know which mode is set. Get a 3rd party to set up the bow. Compare all modes and then review the results. This stops expectation interfering with your experience of the settings. Otherwise interesting.
Why do you seem to have different form in every video?
I am constantly working on it and evolving it. Right now in this video I am shooting my highest scores ever (mid 640s). Also I have not seen my coach for 3+ months. Probably will gain a few more points when he comes back 😀🏹🎯
@@shoreshotarchery good for you man! I've changed a bit tbh only time will tell for when I get to test that!!!
Your setting tiller somthing wrong. Noiz is no good.
What you showing 🙄🙄🙄🙄
String tension settings
I mean what is in video cover and .. what are you showing us 🤗☝️
