Secura was always reassured by Bly's sworn word that he would have her back no matter what, which gave her comfort on the battlefield. In the illustrated ROTS screenplay, there is dialogue between the two that was cut from the film where they have some playful banter with each other before Secura notices them raising their blasters and asks if Bly has spotted the enemy. "In Legends there were actual chipped clones who didn't execute order 66." Dude, there WERE no chipped clones in Legends because the chips only came AFTER legends. In legends, the clones were just indoctrinated and never had all that much attachment to the jedi.
I sort of figure Greggor was either more independent/brain damaged than the others, so maybe the chip just didn't work. As for the others, Rex couldn't convince every clone and he couldn't just force all of them to have the chip removed in a risky medical procedure. When it came to Wolffe, he likely would have been easier to convince because he bad served under Plo Koone. He loved Plo Koone and even if the Jedi did betray the Republic, he wouldn't have gone after Plo Koone. It was this reasoning that, while it didn't override the chip, likely would have made it easier to convince him
I think it’s because Rex would be a fugitive if seen alive, but he was presumed dead I think. He probably didn’t want to risk getting gunned down by his own brothers so he decided to help the clones that were closer. Maybe he tried with Cody but we saw Cody’s loyalty to the republic, and later on the empire, in revenge of the Sith when he ordered the at-te to fire at obi won kenobi, a great friend he trusted, with no hesitation. Wolffe and Gregor probably were just easier to convince.
@@rosesweetcharlotte Do we know if Wolffe is the one who killed Plo Koon? Plo was killed by pilot clones IIRC, it's likely Wolffe was on the ground at the moment, no?
What @@double1777 said. IIRC, Aayla stuck with them through it all and made sure to get them out. So when the order came through to purge the Jedi, the Company's respect for her outweighed the hatred that was implanted in them.
That’s what I noticed too, Rex was the only who tried fighting the command and showed hesitation saving fives over and over showing how strong his bond with Ahsoka and Anakin was he wasn’t gonna be controlled easily. However with Cody look how he didn’t hesitate as if he went along with it, from what we’ve seen, yes he and Obi wan we’re friends but not at the level of Anakin and ahsoka with Rex. They just had mutual respect with them only fighting together in the battle field and picking up on their moves in the war. Rex even adopted some of Anakin’s more human side which is concern even when it’s against the mission
Rex is also one of the only clones who disobeyed orders throughout the series and he could fight againist force suggestions. so he was trained somewhat by either Anakin or Ahsoka in how to shield
Hannah Young have u seen the series?? Neither of them knew what was coming Rex knew about the chips but didn’t know their function, Ahsoka found out when it started. Plus we all know what Anakin was doing. It’s Rex’s relationships with them that helped him prevent it for a bit but was eventually controlled. Cody didn’t even hesitate which shows his relationship was somewhat strained with Kenobi or just mutual respect for one another
Cody did hesitate, just briefly, because he wasn't in any way aware of the chip, so the average trooper and him had the same possibility of resistance.
Umm, Cody and Obi Wan were closer than ever, we didn't see much of them together, but they were really close. The reason Rex hesitated was because he knew what was going on after what Fives said.
2:16 - That is putting it mildly (albeit taking a lot from Legends) - Vos was straight up hostile to his clone commander Faie. Now maybe it was because Vos had zero command experience and was disguising his frustration by being incredibly hostile - but I dare say Faie was secretly happy to execute Order 66, if only to get rid of his douche boss.
I think that it wouldn’t really matter if named clone troopers/commanders resisted the chip, because even if those clones had a huge connection to their Jedi generals and resisted the inhibited chip they are literally surrounded by other clone troopers who wouldn’t be able to resist the chip because they didn’t have a strong enough connection to their Jedi general. So in bly’s case and if he resisted the ship he is still surrounded by other clone troopers and it’s not like bly is gonna tell them not to shoot because they’d shoot him for treason!
As much as I didn’t like order 66. I like that Bly and other clones respected Aayla Secura so much that they thought she deserved a quick and painless death.
After the final episode aired, I really wanted to find any fan fictions where order 66 didn't happen. I couldn't find anything extensively written, but a short one i did find was pretty good. It was called resist 66 (or something close) and instead of the chips essentially flipping a switch in the clones that they don't even know about, the chip sort of force their minds out of thier bodies as something else takes control. They are left helpless to watch as their bodies act on their own without their consent. They are however able to resist if they use everything they have to force their way back in. The first two chapters were about Bly and secura and essentially the reason they fire so many times of secura is because the clones are fighting for control. While cant resist the urge to fire, they can contro where they hit as Bly and the others constantly hit non vital spots. As secura is drawns closer to death, the chips infuence weaken in proportion and they regain control albiet very strained control. Using the chance they patch her up the best they can and intruct her astomech to take her to the medical facility that yoda and obi-wan go to at the end of ep 3. They record a message for her for when she wake up explaining what happened and warn her not to look for them as they don't want to risk killing her again. As her ship leaves they feel the chip weaken further as they are relieved that they are themselves once more. Ther are other chapters focusing on some of the other order 66 scenes and they're pretty well written. Unfortunately the author has given up on writting due to othe rplagerising their work, but for as short as it is, it's a pretty good way to spend an hour or two
THE CLONE WARS series did a great job expanding upon the prequels, the clones and the clone war itself. Ahsoka was a great character and so was Rex. As for Aayla Secura, she was beautiful and occasionally good fan-service!
I read a (I think it's legends) comic somewhere where luke skywalker meets Aayla Secura and Shaak Ti in a Jedi Temple, and they need luke because only a master and an apprentice can open it. (Similar to that on Lothal in SW Rebels)
It bothered me that in the last season of the clone wars, the briefing scene with the Jedi, Secura did not have her navel piercing, whereas in ROTS she does
I find it funny that Bly didn't like Quinlan, but cared deeply for Aayla, who was Quinlan's padawan. also, in my fan fiction, Orion meets another clone that served with Aayla. this trooper was named Eights, and he was a very dickish individual. he got the nickname Crazy Eights for that reason. oh, and Orion's former master was... Pong Krell. so the two could relate regarding having masters who turned to the dark side. that goes for Ahsoka as well.
Good insight on the relationships between the other Jedi and the other Clones not covered as much in The Clone Wars series. The Jedi weren't portrayed as being right all the time anyway so there probably were some clones who hated some of the Jedi. There definitely had to be some Jedi who were jerks. There are many Star Wars stories that suggest this. This was a good video.
The reason Rex was able to resist was not because he cared more than others for Ahsoka, although that certainly helped, but the reason was because he already had warning that Order 66 was coming (or something along those lines), so when he first felt it happening, he knew to fight it, whereas most clones would not have realized they *should* fight it until it was already too late, and "kill Jedi" just seemed perfectly normal.
Honestly anything would be better than Martinez arc. But it kinda served the plot, cause Ahsoka found data on Maul, and realised that while she’s not a Jedi she still wants to help people. But I wish it was in better story yeah
Its honestly sad to think about bc some clones had mental issues after having to do something so horrible to the ones they considered family besides themselves and each other😞
Your passion for Star Wars is great, your in depth analysis is insightful and your the kind of person that should be involved with its future. Thanks for your vids.
The scene with bly running through the hallway shooting, the first part of it shows his visor down, it changes its position showing it up, then lastly it changes position of the camera again and shows he doesn’t even have a visor
Let’s be real here, does Jedi Bob even need clones? He could take on the entire Jedi Order by himself and come out without a scratch. He is the true Jedi Knight!
I felt like we did not get a proper ending to the clone wars series, but in actuality, we got the beginning for the asoka series.... which does not do the clone wars justice sense it did not focus on it's TRUE potential ending.
Bly and the other troops she led mention in a game, I think in the second game in the original Battlefront series on PS2, that they hoped her death came real fast since it was her support and leadership on Felucia that saved many clone lives and even kept them sane in the hellish jungle.
I kinda wished they showed what happened to clones after the order like did they snap out of it and regret their decision or were they permanently bad people
The chip was set to comfort them. They probably felt it was a hhard but right decision. If not, all of the good clones could potentially revolt, get depressed, etc.
Survival of the wittiest in this video! Don’t trust a Droid army covered in flesh. And anyone who tells me that Plo didn’t love his troops the most, than any other Jedi, you can go jump in a hole 🕳! He loved his troops the most over all the other jedi! Doesn’t mean that the other Jedi didn’t love their clones but he is ranked number one at doing so☝️! He named his army the Wolfpack! Everyone else had strips and lines, that goes to show you. There are also so many other reasons why he treated his clones like family. George Lucas puts all the reasons why he loved them in the cartoons, and comic books 📚 his commander goes on to live in rebel’s and he personally removed his chip with not help! (Rex needed help) and Gregor was a Commando
It seems that force users in general were targeted, appart from sidious. In onne occasion some clones even targeted Vader, in his suit, with a scarlet saber, serving the emperor and all...
Bly must've had one really awkward conversation with Appo after Order 66. Appo: "Thank God we never had to shoot our Jedi General! He stayed loyal to the Republic, and he even helped us take down other Jedi! Now, he's the leader of the entire Imperial military, and he's even got this sweet new armor set that looks intimidating and badass as all hell!" Bly: *Sad Clone-Twi'lek noises*
I don’t like Twileks. The skin color is ugly and they have weird dick brain tentacle thingies on their heads. No, thank you. Besides they speak with a French accent. Lore wise that means socially they’re considered not as intelligent.
I respect your opinion, but his choice ultimately saved his life, don't get me wrong i love clones but I also like Kota, the force unleashed games were my first star wars games (other than lego star wars the complete saga ds version). But I can see your point
His reasons were legitimate. Clones were all the same, so they would all think the same. Therefore making them too predictable in battle. Also their loyalty could be in question because they were practically droids.
I like how he explains how not every jedi got along with their clones, then repeats that 3 times in a row. Why do Star Wars UA-camrs do this stuff, man.
Aayla has always been my favorite Jedi even when it was just glimpses of her character at first in the films. I still remember the excitement when she finally appeared in Clone Wars season one! She was portrayed very benevolent and stoically not trying to intervene with the Lurmen, and instilling patience in Ashoka. The French accent also complimented her character very well, I was happy to hear her in Rise of Skywalker, even if that was one of the only highlights for me. Definitely should have done more with her but Ashoka embodies them all, Shaak Ti and Luminara too!
Kota sensed something off about the clones that always told him not to trust them which we know was the brain chips. But not that they were inferior that I know of.

Did Rex go out of his way to free Wolffe and Gregor? If he did, why couldn't he help more clones with there inhibitor chips?
I sort of figure Greggor was either more independent/brain damaged than the others, so maybe the chip just didn't work. As for the others, Rex couldn't convince every clone and he couldn't just force all of them to have the chip removed in a risky medical procedure.
When it came to Wolffe, he likely would have been easier to convince because he bad served under Plo Koone. He loved Plo Koone and even if the Jedi did betray the Republic, he wouldn't have gone after Plo Koone. It was this reasoning that, while it didn't override the chip, likely would have made it easier to convince him
I'd love to see a movie or miniseries about Rex finding and teaming up with Wolffe and Gregor.
@@kesselrunner agreed
Ayala is one of my favorite Jedi. I love how you explain their relationship. They were definitely a awesome team.
The clone Troopers kept shooting Aayla Secura as if she wasn't dead yet in Order 66.
They were trying to make her die as quick as possible to make it painless
What @@double1777 said. IIRC, Aayla stuck with them through it all and made sure to get them out. So when the order came through to purge the Jedi, the Company's respect for her outweighed the hatred that was implanted in them.
They were trying to prevent a pervert from violating her corpse.

Rex loved Ahsoka. Cody didn't love Obi-Wan, at least not in the same way.
Bly, do you think there are droids?
*NO.*
His boss' incompetence also probably led to the death of some troopers, so probably his commander would have good reasons to feel relieved.
Pong Krell wasn’t just a Jedi who disagreed with the clones, he fully converted to the dark side.

Bly was my first Clone Trooper action figure. I was so hyped every time I saw him in screen.

Ahsoka is better looking tbh
Overrated
I read a (I think it's legends) comic somewhere where luke skywalker meets Aayla Secura and Shaak Ti in a Jedi Temple, and they need luke because only a master and an apprentice can open it. (Similar to that on Lothal in SW Rebels)
It bothered me that in the last season of the clone wars, the briefing scene with the Jedi, Secura did not have her navel piercing, whereas in ROTS she does
"More like a brother/sister relationship"
Bly- damn.. friendzoned.
I remember reading that Bly was glad he had the helmet on so he wouldn’t have to see Aayla’s look of disbelief.
Palpatine: Execute order 66
Bly: I quit being a clone there for I don’t have to follow orders anymore ok by I’m gonna leave

@@Spinahihi i'm sorry for the sin i was into it at the time two years ago like a anakin ep 2 idk why lmao

Honestly they should’ve replace the Ahsoka ark (no offense to her) with something with Ayla and Bly

I felt like we did not get a proper ending to the clone wars series, but in actuality, we got the beginning for the asoka series.... which does not do the clone wars justice sense it did not focus on it's TRUE potential ending.
I really wish we got to see more of the 327th Star Corps in the show. It's probably my favorite battalion
Bly and the other troops she led mention in a game, I think in the second game in the original Battlefront series on PS2, that they hoped her death came real fast since it was her support and leadership on Felucia that saved many clone lives and even kept them sane in the hellish jungle.

Rahm koda deserved his own clone wars episode
A bunch of blasts to her back. Imagine how boy felt shooting down his best freind only because he was forced to
I kinda wished they showed what happened to clones after the order like did they snap out of it and regret their decision or were they permanently bad people
The chip was set to comfort them.
I'm confused why Order 66 applied to Ahsoka. Didn't she leave the Jedi Order?
It seems that force users in general were targeted, appart from sidious. In onne occasion some clones even targeted Vader, in his suit, with a scarlet saber, serving the emperor and all...
Because Ahsoka was one of the few people who could bring Anakin back to the light.

Pretty sure Yoda got along with the clones as well. Episode 1 of season 1 of Clone Wars shows that
Bly must've had one really awkward conversation with Appo after Order 66.

In the clone wars adventures comics they show quite a few jedi getting turned on in order 66
They should have shown Felucia more, and Aayla Secura and Bly. Also Rahm Kota was a jerk I dislike him a lot
Kota is legends
Kota had his reasons which, inevitablely turned out to be sound.
I like the thought of them being closer to siblings than lovers.
I like how he explains how not every jedi got along with their clones, then repeats that 3 times in a row.
Why do Star Wars UA-camrs do this stuff, man.
Didn't even make it to the 10 minute mark man. What's his plan here?
Correction, in legends clones didn't have control chips, the execution of order 66 was based on their ingrained loyalty to the republic.
That one clone who listened to fives
