No kidding, lol! Teamster leadership told ALL their members to vote for Biden in 2020. I'm sure one of his Teamster buddies will be speaking at the upcoming DNC &/ or Biden fall rallies.
@@acfanter I can believe it, because Donald isn’t a true Republican. He ran as a republican, since he knew he would not win and an independent. He has the same ideals, you can see them in speeches that he made before he became president all those years ago. He talks about taking down these special interstellar group, go watch some of the speeches at the work economic forum that he use to talk at. He personally invited this man to speak at the RNC, this is not surprising at all. People should see what type of man he truly is.

36 year retired Teamster here, 1988-2024. This is truly amazing. For my entire membership tenure the rank and file had many, many Republicans while the Teamsters leaders were blindly Democrat. This is both shocking and refreshing.
Please research worker's rights bills and assess the Republican versus Democrat votes on each. I think you might be surprised. A lot of these guys, including Hawley, vote for Right to Work laws.
The IAFF is exactly the same. Rank and file are mostly red as the higher-ups are blindly blue.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was when the USW supported Biden in 2020 after Trump had brought back so many jobs to the US. They never got another dime of my dues. I’m glad to see unions waking up to who really cares about them.

sMokyRidgeRunner? hehe anyway tbh, i also am in a union. its the only reason the rr doesn't get away with job raises below cola (cost of living adjustment) - wait, for 10yrs they did. and the dam msm reported as if we got an undeserved ~25% pay raise LOL. no it was a basic4% for the cycle of trade agreements that were $hit. it should've been 70% but that's mho(to put us back on par with utility/powerline workers). so IF u wanna work certain jobs, u r gonna hafta pay union dues. at first u think it really sux. but it sure seems like the big corp that owns ur jobsite sure love to threaten u with loss of service every dam minute of the day... just being real. sometimes it sux when u run across a coworker who should be fired/ never hired (thanx dei) but often it sure helps when u r needing a friggin sick day. we had 1 for the first 10+ yrs of my service. and i've always been a maga.

@@dbmn7571 they may be lining their own pockets, but i work for UPS and believe me, the benefits that we get are beyond amazing. we have one of the best health insurance policies in the country and we don't pay a dime for it. nothing comes out of our checks for insurance. The Teamsters pay 100% of the premium and the coverage is incredible. we have a pension plan, vacation, holidays, and job security. It's almost impossible to get fired unless you really fk up.. you have to almost want to be fired. Union dues is only 2 and half hours a MONTH (so if you are getting paid 32 dollars an hour then that is 80 a month and it is split weekly... so 20 a week) and we get yearly raises. by the end of this contract in 2028 i'll be making $30 an hour and when i started 11 years ago i was making $8.50. So he is lining my pockets too.

When Biden broke the rail strike in 2022, I thought it was a huge mistake. (I might be Conservative, but I sure as heck never cross a picket line.)
For sure, there were issues with the transportation of goods in this country, and the economy was in a problematic state (all thanks to Bidenomics and Biden's cosy relationship with the corporatist arm of the Democrat party)... but I don't think it was Labor that was at fault. There are so many problems in the Supply Chain, a lot of it due to the radical Green agenda and the way BlackRock & Vanguard & other Wall Street players own the railways.

I’ve never been a big fan of unions, even though I belong to one. That said, I respect Mr. O’Brien for delivering this speech and for reaching out to the other “side.” He made some excellent points. I think that there is a lot that Republicans and Unions can agree on. I also give credit to President Trump for his willingness to extend an olive branch and try to expand the party’s tent. Bravo to all involved.

My father was able to retire at 54 years of age because of his Teamster pension and because the owner of his company was selling it to family and my father had no intention of working for them or being used for information. I'm so grateful my father could retire so early because we spent the best years of our lives together. We had time to enjoy each other. Thank you teamsters!

I knew he was speaking with conviction, but I’m not a union guy so I wasn’t connecting too hard to it. Then he said “and I stand for all workers, union or not” or something along those lines and I immediately thought okay this is a bigger deal than I’m realizing
Both union and non union need each other for strength. The non union workers should be getting treated so well to not have the union that the great treatment should trickle down into union jobs as well. And the union workers should be getting such great contracts that it trickles into what non union workers are also given to keep them as workers. We just experienced this after the boom of President Trump in office and the American worker was once again needed and valued. I left the non union job for a union job because that union job was struggling to find workers. Not too long after I left, that non union job had to change and started offering more benefits and ant across the board higher raises for all workers just to retain the workers they had left, as union jobs were picking off their workers like crazy. Now the non union job is paying comparable to the union job and giving even better things as far as vacation and stuff, along with treating workers better to keep them non union. And it's the first time some of the union workers have left to go with the non union job, which will then have it's affect on keeping the union workers happier because they start to struggle again to find workers. They need each other.
That's nothing new. Not all non-union are in a position where they're scabbing.
Unions historically get gains for their workers and then the fear of unions brings in benefits to all of us.

It makes absolute sense that he’s there, because Donald Trump personally invited him. Donald trump isn’t a true republican, he believes in his country and the people. He wants to see people do well in general, he’s not a corporate politician. He has an old speech about getting rid of the special interests, and he knows what is really happening… most of the Republicans don’t even like him. They all betrayed him, and he is trying to fix the wrongs of this country.

This is not surprising, at all. Donald Trump is not a true Republican, he’s a Republican in name only. He invited this man, because he actually believes in these ideals. You can see in some of his first speeches before he became president, that he wanted to bring down the special interest groups. My Mom was one of the few ladies in a Teamster Office 40 years ago. So my Mom was a Teamster and my Dad was a skilled tradesman in a union in the car building industry (rubber company before that)!

@@Mattthecat888 it’s the same thing. But there are different Unions. I believe Teamsters are like the backbone to all the unions from what I understand. The Union keeps it fair to the little guy. They can be a strong arm against corruption. For instance you work 40 hours a week and anything over that is time and a half. Thank the Teamsters for that. Your Saturday and Sunday off is another one.

I’ve done enough research to know that if President Trump had a (D) next to his name rather than an (R) and did absolutely nothing different from 2016-2020, Dems and Libs would herald him as one of the greatest of all time.

With Trump he will siphon the blue collar workers and bring jobs back to America, who will then help rebuild America piece by piece. Need Teamsters to help make this happen because these corporations are using us, sucking us dry, and working people to death, all while using their profits to buy off politicians who do nothing for the people. It’s about effing time. As a Teamster, the majority of us are with TRUMP. The union leaders around the country need to wake the hell up and realize it’s not 1960’s politics anymore. There’s been a political realignment, right and left don’t mean the same things anymore. This was a bold, smart move by Sean O’Brien and I appreciate it.

As a 20yr proud union member, I’m completely floored to see a Teamster’s president at the RNC.

The Republican Party is going through an ideological transformation because what is growing their base is very different from the old guard. You can still vote for whoever you want to. Just because they say vote for a Democrat doesn't mean you have to, but it is good that they have such a well-spoken representative who actually cares about their best interest and doesn't just collect union dues for nothing.

I work for a Company that has manufacturing locations Unionized. Unions can be problematic at times (especially with workers lacking efficiency and constantly stating that it isn't their job when you try to improve processes) but they are a necessary evil. I have seen the Unions be a little more cooperative with Corporations the last few years. Definitely respect this guy for speaking out at the RNC and he has a passion for his workers.
