No chance it could have stayed a mystery with the internet these days. Everyone can find out a lot about a person if they want to, and folks have figured out that 'Fancy' is a fat white man by the name of Jake Hagood. Scooter Braun is his manager, who also happens to manage Justin Beiber (hence the Beiber look-a-like in one of the videos). I guess they figured it would be brilliant to conceal the man's identity and let folks listen to and (hopefully) fall in love with the record first without knowing what the singer looks like, because I'm sure they were afraid that no one would give a shit about it if they knew it was this fat white man trying to make it in the mainstream Pop scene (which, of course, we all know is all about looks and appearances). Sad when you think about it. Or maybe, perhaps, they've got this man locked up in a basement somewhere, forcing him to lose the weight and attempt to appear like your typical male Pop Star...
three videos, but all the same meaning. it doesnt matter what your appearance looks like or what gender or sexuality you are. just stay you cause even tho they say that your flaws are what make you weird, your flaws are what make you different and we need different people in this world.
Three music videos for.one song and no one knows who the singer is , because looks shouldn't matter, sexuality shouldn't matter gender all those things, the artist has an amazing talent, this song is beautiful and that's all that should matter
it is the one with the guy in it i found a site that told you about how they was trying to keep it a secrete but someone said something about it and all but yeah it really is the guy that ends up looking a tad bit like justin beiber
I used to think this was a breakup song before watching the videos. The videos seem like the people going into that studio as themselves are changed for what society wants and how the media should view them and that's why they say goodbye, because they are saying goodbye to themselves. I think that's why I adore this song so much and I wish whoever "fancy" is makes more music soon.
I'm not sure if there's an order to these but I saw the video with the black girl first, the guy with all the tattoos next, and then ended with this one. The first one you feel happier and think "wow! they made her over and she looks so great! that dress looks great and her hair/makeup look flawless!" and you get an overall good feeling. The second one you're kinda bummed because they airbrushed all of his tattoos away and he ends up looking like a Justin Beiber clone. And then in this one as soon as the makeup artists take over it's like their (idk if this person identifies as she/him so I'm trying to be gender neutral) identity is completely gone and the industry has just taken over. I feel like seeing the videos in that progression really drives the message home more. They just kind of get realer by the next and in the end you understand it more. Nice job 'Who Is Fancy'. Nice job. (Also, great choice on actors! They really have great presence.)
I watched it in the same order as well. The black lady looked beautiful, the white teen was made to look wholesome and the trans was stripped of their identity. That is how I saw it.
I totally support this video but I really don't want to assume pronouns based on what they wear so I'm going to use they/them pronouns until they say otherwise c: I think it's great that we are finally starting to see trans people in the music industry!! I hope this artist (whoever they happen to be) continues to do videos like this c:
When they took off her makeup and hair and out her in the shirt and jeans I felt like crying. She was perfect just the way she was and the fact that they felt the need to change her made me so sad... This video hit me the hardest out of all of them.
These videos are about their appearance. How they have to change their looks to become this famous celebrity. I think so lol. And "goodbye" for their old personalty.
WHO IS FANCY FREAKING WATCHED MY COVER! And he commented on my freaking instagram saying it was amazing. Like this dude is on the RADIO, yet he's so dedicated to people. Thank you for being a real artist!!!
This video out of the three is the best, in my opinion. They change him so much, it doesn't matter that they want to be seen as a woman, the media changes everything about you. It was actually very sad to watch this one
Ok 3 things 1. He's good look ether way guy or girl hell as a chick he's better looking than me. 2. I love a guy in leather. 3. It truly is incredible what makeup or lack thereof can change how someone can look. I'm 20 and still think it's amazing. Makeovers rock!
I was a hot mess In my Sunday best Black tears in my eyes You were my first love You were my only one I can't believe your lies Once we were like bottle rockets Now I know I have to stop it Please believe me This isn't easy I just need to say goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Losin' my mind Goodbye You got a new friend You like to play pretend I'm just keepin' my cool Turn on that smoke machine Magic and make-believe She'll never know you like I do Once we were a fire burnin' Now you're just a lesson I'm learnin' Please believe me This isn't easy I just need to say goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Losin' my mind Goodbye [4x] I know that I can find somebody You won't ever find nobody else like me Once we were like bottle rockets Now I know I have to stop it Please believe me This isn't easy I just need to say goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Losin' my mind Goodbye
Anybody else think the music video is really meaningful? Like, it shows what they do to famous people... They change them, so that they may not feel like the same person or be comfortable with who they are
I first heard this song on Spotify and got hooked with the Ne-Yoish voice and beats, but after watching all three videos, I definitely like the song and artist for the message and lyrics as well. Powerful and beautiful.
There are certain songs that give me goosebumps and i can easily say this is one of them, amazing voice, love the beat and total feel of this track. Very well done.
This is one of my favourite songs currently and I am only now watching this other video, and now because of this it is my favourite song. I applaud it for being active in showing all of lives different people.
I cannot get enough of this man! His voice is incredible, the songs have such a good meaning and the videos for goodbye are stunning. I have heard these songs on 11/25/15 for the first time. And by the end of two hours, I had the lyrics for both memorized. My boys ages 9,7,5,2,1 love these as well, my older ones request them at least twice a day, my younger 2 will dance to them. Please keep the music coming!
first heard this song on the radio and i liked it. searched youtube to listen once more and to find out who the artist is. but after watching all three videos, i find myself not caring about what the singers look like at all. the music is great and that's what's important. thanks who is fancy. :)
Its apart of the message, the song is like saying goodbye to who you were once before, like changing yourself go be “attractive” for others or like how the industry and fame changes you.
this is the sad truth... some people have to cover up their flaws, or even pretend to be someone they're not just so people can accept them or even regard them...
This was the only one out of all three videos that made me emotional because of how they changed that person so much. What got me sad was their pained expression at 0:54. 😞😖
Marcos Aguirre Wow, fabulous job in this video. I actually think this is the better out of the 3. The transformation from the beginning to the end is very deep.
This is 100% the person singing- its the only person that matches the voice. Plus, its the idea that... we might not necessarily identify with this fancy, which is why the other videos make it easier for some people to identify with. Yet this video and the connectedness of them all is opening our eyes to the feelings behind a transgender person.
And the videos also highlight how we all have to choose the balance between being our true selves and feeling the pressure to be what other people want us to be or think we should be.
I watched one of the music video and was like, "That's it?" but then figured in the comment section that there were three music videos with three different actors/actresses. My whole perspective on this song and music video changed. It's different and mind blowing! I love it.
To me, combined with the song and lyrics, the video is about how a bad relationship completely erases your sense of self, and makes you feel confused about who you are.
Took me a long time to search this up, had a very vague memory of this song from when I was 15 with little knowledge of anything but this music video. Finally found it after 30 minutes and I'm not disappointed
Sammi Omg...Baked potatoes are amazing! I love them so much, I will eat them as a midnight snack or watching movies at home (the theater wasn't too happy when I tried to bring baked potatoes in last time)!
WRONG!!! It's a single man by the name of Jake Hagood, or Fancy Hagood. Google it if you don't believe me. He's a fat white man-- not your typical mainstream Pop Star. Which is exactly why they are doing this; to get people to like the song first without seeing the dude and his appearance, because unfortunately most folks would look at him and based solely on his looks, not give him or the record a chance.
Jay Are Well I stand corrected. I did google it. and to be honest I expected a more extreme appearance, like lots of piercings, tattoos and such. Anyways thanks for the correction.
Well I mean Taylor Swift is technically in a band with backup singers and stuff to help her backing vocals yet she is still considered a single artist. It really depends on the artists decision I guess
From my opinion and perspective of watching all three videos its talking about losing what you have and insecurities. When I say insecurities I mean like a person that doesn't like them selves for who they are, weight, height, sexuality etc. I love this song so so much it means a lot!!
dayummmm.... that walk tho..... better than the models...
+Laxus Goth ikr. s(he) got a nice body for man and woman.
+Aldy Satria true
+Aldy Satria ikr
+Aldy Satria hahaikr
lol practice :P
Fancy should remain a mystery. Makes them different than everyone else

Or maybe, perhaps, they've got this man locked up in a basement somewhere, forcing him to lose the weight and attempt to appear like your typical male Pop Star...
Agree. I like them anonymous also. It brings more meaning to them bc we judge every on what we see. Just a voice singing is so much more deep
it's done. Frankie Grande (Ari's brother) is Fancy.
i know he isn't hunny. people bluff Fancy's fans to confuse them, thus more curiosity = more attention.
oh... i thought he was still a mystery because of all his posts on his social media. Jake was called Fancy so it does make sense
three videos, but all the same meaning. it doesnt matter what your appearance looks like or what gender or sexuality you are. just stay you cause even tho they say that your flaws are what make you weird, your flaws are what make you different and we need different people in this world.
You are absolutely right
Sooo the guy in this video isnt gay ?
Cuz he is pretty hot when he's not a woman
+SunnyLove Gt Wanting to dress like a women isn't called gay. It's transgender please learn before you comment.
+Jasmine Hill Or he could not identify as a woman at all and just be a crossdresser? Stop being offended by everything.
Three music videos for.one song and no one knows who the singer is , because looks shouldn't matter, sexuality shouldn't matter gender all those things, the artist has an amazing talent, this song is beautiful and that's all that should matter
well said 🙏
Keeta May Yes
it is the one with the guy in it i found a site that told you about how they was trying to keep it a secrete but someone said something about it and all but yeah it really is the guy that ends up looking a tad bit like justin beiber
Brianna Lambeth it was revealed on the Tonight Show the other day it definitely was not the guy who ended up looking like Justin Beiber.
Yes!! What do the particulars matter? The song is beautiful and the videos are brilliant.
I like this version the most out of the three..
氷室龍神 totally agree😊
Same
This dude's hot both as a guy and a girl, damn!
OKKK wow
Ok... my sister said that yesterday!!
I know!
Jason Shields 这哥们看着怪别扭,还有罗圈腿。。
For Real!
I used to think this was a breakup song before watching the videos. I think that's why I adore this song so much and I wish whoever "fancy" is makes more music soon.
I love it when she is staring at the mirror when she is saying goodbye. It's like she is saying goodbye to her true self before they change her.
I'm not sure if there's an order to these but I saw the video with the black girl first, the guy with all the tattoos next, and then ended with this one. +YoQuieroTacoBell Lol i did the same order
I watched in the same order and felt the same thing waaw
I watched it in the same order as well. The black lady looked beautiful, the white teen was made to look wholesome and the trans was stripped of their identity. That is how I saw it.
These videos are so heart-shatteringly beautiful.
ikr
He can rock BOTH.
I love this video the most. That GIRL is stunning and SHE is prettier than most other girls you'll see walking down the streets.
Love, love, LOVE it.
I totally agree!! She worked. It. OUTTTT💖
It's a HE!
TheDuffyGamer34
No... SHE is a woman INSIDE... get educated. This is the 21st century. Why are people's mentality suck in the fucking BC era?
I totally support this video but I really don't want to assume pronouns based on what they wear so I'm going to use they/them pronouns until they say otherwise c: I think it's great that we are finally starting to see trans people in the music industry!! This song never gets old.....
He cute when hes all dressed up at the end 😍
WHO IS FANCY FREAKING WATCHED MY COVER!
And he commented on my freaking instagram saying it was amazing.
Like this dude is on the RADIO, yet he's so dedicated to people.
Thank you for being a real artist!!!
Fab!! 😉
Thats so cool
This video out of the three is the best, in my opinion. They change him so much, it doesn't matter that they want to be seen as a woman, the media changes everything about you. It was actually very sad to watch this one
This song is catchy!! How has it not gone viral already?! It's almost been exactly a month!!
FANCY.. Whoever you are , I love you ! Thank you for being so real
💓
I love how Bobby Newberry and Melody Thornton covered this song
We must accept ourselves for who we are for others to love us.
Whoever is acting in this video is absolutely stunning and breath-taking, my goodness. I think whatever was left of my self-esteem has disintegrated.
Ok 3 things
1. He's good look ether way guy or girl hell as a chick he's better looking than me.
2. I love a guy in leather.
3. It truly is incredible what makeup or lack thereof can change how someone can look. I'm 20 and still think it's amazing. Makeovers rock!
Never gets old. Love all of the three mvs.
Damn he looks good as hell as a dude
so true..:-)
that's what I was thinkin!
Out of all three videos, this one speaks to me the most.
I was a hot mess
In my Sunday best
Black tears in my eyes
You were my first love
You were my only one
I can't believe your lies
Once we were like bottle rockets
Now I know I have to stop it
Please believe me
This isn't easy
I just need to say goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Losin' my mind
Goodbye
You got a new friend
You like to play pretend
I'm just keepin' my cool
Turn on that smoke machine
Magic and make-believe
She'll never know you like I do
Once we were a fire burnin'
Now you're just a lesson I'm learnin'
Please believe me
This isn't easy
I just need to say goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Losin' my mind
Goodbye
[4x]
I know that I can find somebody
You won't ever find nobody else like me
Once we were like bottle rockets
Now I know I have to stop it
Please believe me
This isn't easy
I just need to say goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Losin' my mind
Goodbye
TopGameKillaZ Thankkkkk
I love mystery of not knowing the artist makes it so much better & shows how looks don't matter love it
this is the best video out of the 3 because it explains the concept the best.
Side Note: His body is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my opinion, this is by far THE best video out of the three for this song
I think this version of the video is pretty deep!
Imagine looking this good.
Definitely a hit. It does stay in your mind.
I keep coming back to these three videos because of how fascinating and raw they are...
I love this viedo more than the other two because he really has to change all of him only to fulfill music industry... it is shown perfectly here
this person is the type of person that could get it both as a girl and as a guy. so beautiful.
This person is the best one of the three to be honest. Such a great video.
i dont care what the artist looks like this song has been playing nonstop for me!
theres one for lgbt, one for body positivity, and one for body art
jo vi body art? Which is that?
i love that, this song and video is SOOO under appreciated
These three videos show how music industry changes your true self to become a better looking "artist", and how it makes you feel alone at the end.
Anybody else think the music video is really meaningful? Like, it shows what they do to famous people... They change them, so that they may not feel like the same person or be comfortable with who they are
It took me a while to figure it out but thanks for ur comment :D
wow..watched all three..and the song really stuck in my head
you play this tune once and before you know it you have played it a million times over 👍
😂
I first heard this song on Spotify and got hooked with the Ne-Yoish voice and beats, but after watching all three videos, I definitely like the song and artist for the message and lyrics as well. Powerful and beautiful.
I love the message in both versions! And this song is definitely gonna be big by April
There are certain songs that give me goosebumps and i can easily say this is one of them, amazing voice, love the beat and total feel of this track. Very well done.
That walk tho 😍
I really like the symbolism in the maze, and the high heel shoe. It just makes the song better.
This shit got me fucked up. How you gunna be sexy both ways and leave the rest of us struggling to look cute D':
I love it!
Words never spoken so perfect. Love this song.
This song will always be in my heart
This version of the music video made so much more meaning.
Shit he looks good as both genders😳
i fucking know right
omg luv dis song so much its so catchy cant even believe it dont hav over millions of view yet
Ahhh, which one is it! I love all three, but this one is probably my favorite :'(
This is one of my favourite songs currently and I am only now watching this other video, and now because of this it is my favourite song. I applaud it for being active in showing all of lives different people.
you need to be just yourself don't be afraid to see your true colors
Lw
This video was so heartbreaking and powerful to watch, and I think the most resonating out of all three.
They could've at least used a lace front wig :( they did him dirty LMAO
Omar wigsbyvanity
I cannot get enough of this man! His voice is incredible, the songs have such a good meaning and the videos for goodbye are stunning. I have heard these songs on 11/25/15 for the first time. And by the end of two hours, I had the lyrics for both memorized. My boys ages 9,7,5,2,1 love these as well, my older ones request them at least twice a day, my younger 2 will dance to them. Please keep the music coming!
damn he looks good with both genders 😍😳
Why did I never see this video until now? I was obsessed with this song and it's taken me 3 years t even see it. I have the chills.
I wish my belly was flat like that -_-
first heard this song on the radio and i liked it. searched youtube to listen once more and to find out who the artist is. but after watching all three videos, i find myself not caring about what the singers look like at all. the music is great and that's what's important. thanks who is fancy. :)
I feel like this is the real "Fancy".
This is my favorite of the 3. Every video is relatable.
when they were taking off the lipstick I was already so pissed.
Gracie Vallee I know! I was going no! when that started!
Its apart of the message, the song is like saying goodbye to who you were once before, like changing yourself go be “attractive” for others or like how the industry and fame changes you.
Definitely my favorite video version, adds such a powerful underlying message to the song. Not to mention she is FIERCE! #Thatwalkthough 👌👐
wtf why am I attracted to both your transformations
this is the sad truth... some people have to cover up their flaws, or even pretend to be someone they're not just so people can accept them or even regard them...
What if they're a band together and this is just their way of presenting the members?
What a beautiful way to say "Goodbye".
Someone in this song sounds like neyo
This was the only one out of all three videos that made me emotional because of how they changed that person so much. What got me sad was their pained expression at 0:54. 😞😖
Ok just saying but does it really matter who's fancy? To me everyone is fancy and special in there own way. I think this should stay a mystery.👍🙌💁
This video , these lyrics , the voice , we need more
When a guy is hotter than a girl.........
ANDDDD HE IS A GOOD LOOKING GUY.
Very few people can pull off both.
*applause
thanks :)
Marcos Aguirre Wow, fabulous job in this video. I actually think this is the better out of the 3. The transformation from the beginning to the end is very deep.
Thank you! It was definitely an amazing opportunity to be a part of something great!! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Marcos Aguirre you were that guy in the video?...it was awesome!..I always dreamed of appearing in a video...hasn't happened yet..lol
I finally get why there are like 3 videos with different people.
They show how social media changes people in a bad way.
This is 100% the person singing- its the only person that matches the voice. Plus, its the idea that... we might not necessarily identify with this fancy, which is why the other videos make it easier for some people to identify with. Yet this video and the connectedness of them all is opening our eyes to the feelings behind a transgender person.
And the videos also highlight how we all have to choose the balance between being our true selves and feeling the pressure to be what other people want us to be or think we should be.
girl kobob Good ideas, but none of the videos posted are the real him
ASisBest how do u know?
Ladyfrom TheNeverland because I know Fancy personally
There's more than one version to this song so.... No.
I watched one of the music video and was like, "That's it?" but then figured in the comment section that there were three music videos with three different actors/actresses. My whole perspective on this song and music video changed. It's different and mind blowing! I love it.
Fuck.He look good either as a boy or a girl!😘
To me, combined with the song and lyrics, the video is about how a bad relationship completely erases your sense of self, and makes you feel confused about who you are.
I think this is the real artist here..
Frankie Grande isnt it??
Lucy Pardo I saw that video and I love him so much but I heard he was just joking
Lucy Pardo
no, it's not.
ty
Marvin Cook I agree
I don't care who is Fancy, the most important is his/her music and I love it!! (Sorry I'm french)
What is the secret msg in the door..... A name? Pharrell ? hmmm
Wow, good eyes.
where?
Icarus eVo
1:25 I think!
I DONT LIKE THINKING
Pharell Williams
I think this song has a good message. Definitely one of my favorites
PLOT TWIST:
Iggy Azalea is Fancy 😱😱😱
NO
not even funny
iggy azalea isnt fancy
She's SO fancy!
Who that? Who that? I-G-G-Y !
This song live and acoustic really hits my emotions hard. He's so amazing, I love Fancy!! 😭❤️
its funny how the masc looking white guy version has the most views.......
lol RIGHT!!!
lol Right!
+buddyfranco the white guy is the one that popped up on my page the toher two were "related videos" once i watched the white guy
My favorite is the one of the big lady. She looked purtty in the end. XD
+logoutyaphone was thinking the same thing lmfao #supremacy
I've been looking for This song/video for 2yrs!! 😍
omg he's so hot as a guy
Took me a long time to search this up, had a very vague memory of this song from when I was 15 with little knowledge of anything but this music video. Finally found it after 30 minutes and I'm not disappointed
Wtf she's beautiful as both genders and I'm over here looking like a baked potato
Sammi Omg...Baked potatoes are amazing! I love them so much, I will eat them as a midnight snack or watching movies at home (the theater wasn't too happy when I tried to bring baked potatoes in last time)!
Did some damn good acting. His face expressions made feel so much.! Great song and AMAZING video
At first oh she is ....look muscular...Opps nvm 😳
This is my favorite one out of all 3 videos. ♥
No ..you guys are a band there's no one person singing its a band
Exactly my thought. The person singing the second verse sounds different, more like Ne-Yo.
FUCKING JAY!! Why do you hate him so much? All your comments on here are rude towards the artist
Well I mean Taylor Swift is technically in a band with backup singers and stuff to help her backing vocals yet she is still considered a single artist. It really depends on the artists decision I guess
one year!! I love Fancy and hope he can become more mainstream!!!
From my opinion and perspective of watching all three videos its talking about losing what you have and insecurities. When I say insecurities I mean like a person that doesn't like them selves for who they are, weight, height, sexuality etc. I love this song so so much it means a lot!!
Definitely my favorite video out of the three
