  • Zoomer Radio and ideacity present Jill Sobule Live in Concert at Zoomer Hall in Liberty Village, Toronto.
If you love Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell, then you’ll want to discover Jill Sobule. She’s been described by the New York Times as “a stellar singer-songwriter”. Her luscious tunes are topical, funny, and poignant and made her a fan favourite at Moses Znaimer’s ideacity conference.
Moses calls Jill’s music “witty adult music for an adolescent age” . In addition to her well-known hit “I Kissed a Girl”, Jill is a career musician and songwriter, with over a dozen albums to her credit. Her talents have been featured in many movie soundtracks including: Clueless, Harriet the Spy, Natural Born Killer and Dirty Love.
Sobule’s folk-inflected compositions alternate between ironic, story-driven character studies and emotive ballads, which keeps you listening. She uses both satire and personal experience to sing about a range of issues, including sexuality, love, depression, war, shoplifting, mushrooms, and greed.
    REVIEWS FOR JILL SOBULE:
“Jill Sobule can claim her place among the stellar New York singer-songwriters of the last decade. Topical, funny and more than a little poignant.” - NY TIMES
“Jill is a one-woman band, a record label, and performer all wrapped up. She does these story songs which are beyond charming, but you have to be careful because they do have a certain kind of bite. All I can say is that this is witty adult music for an adolescent age.” - Moses Znaimer
“Nostalgia Kills (her latest album) is a collection of some luscious pop tunes, written by someone who really knows their craft.” - PopMatters.com

Glad this has been re~posted. i've been a fan of Jill, her original music, and her covers. since 'I Kissed A Girl'..i think. Love putting in a flashdrive , most all her songs, and tapping random ... Each album always fits into the others. They all uplift in some way.~ This was nice to hear, and see. Thanks ~
