Here comes the Shoof! Another vegetable cutter Did it take lots of work? Or did it cut through like butter? Right off the bat, was a pleasant surprise A very quick push. Voila! Nice steak fries! I have a French fry cutter but it's not like this one and I love it! I make homemade fries in my air fryer and they are SO good! I wish you girls would do an air fryer review.
My step dad has a Vegomatic from 1970 something that is AMAZING and I am in love with. I have not figured out how to steal it from him yet. ;) I have not purchased an item, went out and then returned it. I have bought an item without trying it on and returned it because I didnt like how I felt in it. Took some selfies. Got some opinions.
Think I may have to get this one guys. Hate dicing onions! I have tried clothes on and worn for a short time to see if they ride up or slide but not worn them out.
That looks like a great tool to make FF. We normally buy the frozen FF. I do have one of the clam shell slicers for dicing onions and potatoes for soup or hash browns. I cry way too easily when dicing onions by hand, so the slicer is perfect for getting the dicing done with few tears. QOD: Nope, I've never worn anything out and then returned it. And I'm not very good at remembering to wash items before I wear them. I can state 100% that I've never washed a coat or jacket before I wore it.
1. Never have, never will buy, leave tags on, wear and return. 2. I bought the fold-over lid type of veggie cutter and liked it, though french fries didn't work with a whole potato. I was impressed by the Shoof cutter though I'll stick to my food processor for spiral choice. Well presented review yet AGAIN!
My parents and in-laws had a cutter similar to it (from the early 70s). It didn’t have the the container under it but it had springs on the sides. Actually I will look at moms to see if hers is still there and borrow it
I was surprised too - I figured it'd be like every other one I've seen that start to crack, lose blades, or outright explode the first time you try to cut anything harder than a tomato. It seems like whoever designed it had used the folding kind & were pissed off enough to actually do it right - the straight-down approach made me think of an antique chip/fry cutter my mum had for years, it had a similar straight-down design, with cantilevered sides connected to 2 handles, you would push the handles down & outward, which would force the blades through the spud. This seems to be a plastic update of that same concept - & I like it. Heh, I haven't either - but my personal aesthetic is mostly pants, T (or button shirt, if needs be fancy/formal) & a hoodie. So I mostly go for men's wear, as (just like razors) it's always cheaper than women's & the sizing is consistent enough across stores that I can almost always get away with not having to try things on in store. And I do so love avoiding changing rooms & the arduous back & forth on my crutches to find what random sizing that brand decides to put me in.
I would love if you ladies did a video where you taste test the same store brand food, but from different stores. Kinda like your Aldi video but maybe like Target's market pantry vs Walmart great value or something along them lines 🙂
sorry im late, i hope i didnt worry you? i was out mushroom hunting and fishing trying to catch and find my dinner, i didnt have any luck but this might of been handy for making chips to go with the fish if i had any, and i wonder if you could make onion flowers with this, hmmm maybe not. i think that little rake thingy is for cleaning the top groves of the pusher. i am also thinking with a little practice you will get the hang of the ribbon slicer. have i ever returned any clothing that i wore out on the town? NO! but i have bought a kitchen tool used it to do what i needed cleaned it and returned it which they were happy to refund me. i am beginning to think a lot of people returned that item, but it worked great for me but i was never going to use it again so why not try. i just told them i couldnt get it to work. ? of the day; have you ever hit a car in the parking lot and didnt leave any contact info?
@@2centchick i was out looking for wild mushrooms. i also go out and pick wild blackberries and raspberries, and wild plum, gooseberries, (love to make gooseberry pie) i also look for other wild plants throughout the year to enjoy in a meal, like watercress, violets, dandelion greens this time of year makes a good salad. i need to keep in practice so i dont forget all the edibles that nature provides.
@@2centchick nope, if i am not sure i wont pick it unless i am taking it off to get a positive id on it. like today i found some pheasant wing mushrooms i know what they look like but i dont know how to prepare them so until i know i wont eat them.
My guess is Cathy normally, coz I believe she is buying the stuff :) But if something isnt her taste or something she wont use after they try it out and Robyn likes it, she will get it, is my guess.. :) Am I right Cathy and Robyn? or?? :D
There is not 5 ga-jillion of these on the market, and the one that I have is out of production, and it worked perfectly. It had 3 dicing blades. 1/2 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/4 inch, and it had a blade for cutting apples and fruit too. I got one from Amazon called the Surpahs X-CUT 4 In 1 Multifunction Vegetable & Fruit Chopper, Slicer, Dicer and it was great, but the only problem is that they are out of production and I want to buy a spare one. The main think you need to be aware of is - do not put too much on the blade at one time or you can bend or break the blade. Also, if you are doing carrots or hard stuff they recommend steaming or microwaving it first to soften it up. I almost broke mine which is why I want another one ... of the Surpahs brand.
Another great review ladies. Definitely going to get one of these. Thanks for yet another great video. No. I would feel terrible about wearing something and then taking it back to the store for somebody else to buy. Maybe that's why I have so many items in my closet that I haven't worn with the tags still on them. Lol. ❤
Hey Cathy And Robin, sorry Cathy, everything that Robin liked I liked also, waffles, nachos cheese, cups upside down,, by the way what a beautiful town I drove through last night Nashville. I’m in Lynchburg now enjoying Jack Daniels factory tour.👏👍👌
That’s sounds like fun! I have never been, but would like to check it out. Next time let us know you are driving through, you can buy us a drink. 😁😉 Enjoy your trip! C-
That’s why they recommend cutting it at least in half. It’s harder to do a whole thing. Saves more time with slicing and Cubing and it’s more uniformed. It would be a lot easier for someone that has a hard time with making them look uniform.
Now this is something I'd like to have! After your review, I did buy that little quick chop with the lawnmower type pull handle. I love it for onions and pickles. But this chopper would give me versatility. I have never returned clothes after wearing them. However, on my first date to my first school dance, I got a new coat for the occasion. My boyfriend walked me home with his arm around me and it was a fun date. Once home, I took my coat off and was mortified to see the price tag still hanging there! To this day I don't know if he or anyone else noticed. 😶
No I’ve never returned a used item to a store... but I have bought an item from one store and exchanged it for the same item in a different color at another store.... unused... it wasn’t 100% honest... but it wasn’t used... not sure how wrong that is??? Your honest opinion???
I did buy a cardigan andwore it once and returned it but that was not my intentions. I loved it and thought it was beautiful and wanted to keep it but the fabric was so itchy and scratchy against my skin I knew I would never be able to wear it again. I even told the sales lady why I was returning it and they still gave me my money back.
You should peal your onion first then put it in ice water for an hour before chopping that way it won't make you cry or burn your eyes!! Great review!! I need one!!
Never done that... because I hate returning things anyways 😋 I will always wash the clothes now before I wear it. I never thought of that of people wearing it before me.
Hey Ladies, great job on the video. I agree top notch for cutting French fries. I had something similar a while back it lasted a while. My thing is storage. Too many novelty kitchen items. It's starting to look like James' as seen on TV boneyard in his garage. Keep up the great work. Have a wonderful weekend. It's time for me to crack open a jar of shine. Be safe.
Very Cool for the fries and onions. I like that. They are perfect! ....No I have never left tags on, wore clothes, and then returned clothing. I never thought about how many people may have tried something on, now I might have to wash even new clothes before wearing LOL
Hi Kathy & Robyn, I'm impressed with the Shoff! Will this also work on dicing tomatoes? We make alot of homemade salsa & spaghetti sauce and was thinking just for the onions, celery etc alone it would be well worth it. Love FF's but I like them baked in the oven with a brushing of olive oil & seasonings . With arthritis this would be a life saver! Is this in Bed, Bath & Beyond yet? Thanks for the great review. Answer to " Have I ever"...No . I'm with you Robyn, no matter what or where I purchase clothing ,it gets laundered before I wear it . 👍🥔🍎🥕+
I have the feeling these ladies don't cook. When they chopped the onion vertically, they kept saying, use it in a salad instead of caramelizing for some meat dish or even steaks. Great demo though, going to buy one.
That looks like a really neat one. I've bought a few different ones but the best one I've had is by KitchenAid. The only thing is that it's REALLYYYYYY sharp and you have to be VERY careful!! The only downfall is that it's made like the first one you reviewed. But as sharp as it is I make it work. You don't even want to hold the blade part with any pressure from your fingers because it WILL cut you! I really like the fact that this one that you're reviewing stays level though. Maybe if this one ever breaks I'll try that one. Thanks for the review. 😁
Thanks for the review looks like a promising chopper! I agree Kathy, I don't see the difference in thrifting clothes or buying them new. people constantly try things on in store or return items. Just like Robin said you will wash it either way, why not save some money!:)
It seems to me they should be thinking of those of us that can't bear down to chop or dice. I did make nice work of the potato for fries. What about strawberries and tomatoes? Good review ladies 👍
2 lovely ladies showing a true demonstration of how it works. Well done girls. I WANT CARROTS, SWEDES, TURNIPS FOR MY CORNISH PASTIES. REAL ENGLISH FOOD FOR MEN. COME TO LONDON AND I'LL FEED YOU BOTH.
I came through Last Thursday. I’m now in Gettysburg. Leaving Wednesday for Syracuse to Hercules candy shop. And then to my original hometown to visit my friends from school Buffalo New York. Spent about 10 days there, Head back home to California
Hi you two ;) Answer to your question, Nope, I have never done that. But I have bought something and then something was wrong with the fabric and then I went to the store and they decided to take it bake or give me a new of the item. That is good service :D I havent tried the Shoof, but I have my Nicer Dicer, called here. The one from the side you didnt like.. And I as I told you last time, make fruit salat with it and as I tell you this now, you problably remember me telling you that my mother in-law calls it monkey food, well, I just found out that the place my step son is after school, they call it monkeyfood too. Funny enough, I have never ever heard that word before my boyfriend told me about it and called it that, but now someone called it that too, that is just so funny :D Have a great day/evening, I will go to bed now, it 00.35 (12.35 AM) and have been up since 6.30 AM, so Im pretty tired now. And Im the one getting up with both (step) kids, coz their father hasnt been sleeping very well the last 5 nights, so now he has to sleep, so he too a speciel nature medicine to get some good sleep tonight, otherwise he wont function very well.. So I told him to take it
Pretty good gadget girls. I agree, for french fries, onion, apple, dicing. Is good. Never had a situation or returning clothes. Very informative today young ladies. Thank you., Uncle Gary 👍👏😘
Oh I must look to see if they are available in UK! For onion, carrots maybe swede as well. It looks like I could actually use this one. QOTD. People think I'm OCD because I have always washed anything I buy before using it. Purely hygiene reasons though. It makes sense and especially after seeing a video on UA-cam that completely horrified me. Your poor table Kathy you need to get a chopping board for it. Have a lovey May Day holiday 🍷🌷🌱
The only thing that was different was that most of it was filmed with the camera handheld. I didn't notice any sync issues, the audio did suffer because of the volume spicks every time that slicer hit home. Wow that was loud.
The Shoof seems a lot like the Veg-o-matic from the 1960's. My grandmother had one, in fact I may have it now. It did those things the same way and worked very well. Because of it's age I'm not sure I want to challange the Veg-o-matic with anything difficult. The old ad ua-cam.com/video/1GniNeqSX5U/v-deo.html
Robin should get up on Cathy’s shoulders for extra leverage when she is pushing down on those tough potatoes. It wouldn’t make any difference in slicing the potatoes, but it would make a great video. Otherwise, this thing looks great. I don’t like those choppers with the hinged lever. But I never cook enough to be bothered. For the three potatoes and half an onion I ever cut, I just use a knife.
I've been looking to get a chopper that actually works. I think this one might be it, yay! I really appreciate your videos because they save me from having to try items myself. Thank you. As far as buying clothes, wearing them and then returning it, no absolutely not. If I buy it, wear it out of my home and then decide I don't like it, it goes in the Goodwill bag. Then of course I drive around with the bag in my trunk for a month before it makes it to Goodwill, LOL.
No! When I had a chopper, similar to that one, I found it was easier to let the blade part dry before I cleaned it. When the food is damp, it's harder to get the food out of the small chopper. Especially onions. Then you wash it! :)
This is awesome! I might actually go order one! And YES!!! always wash your clothes after you buy them. I got an allergy test done and they test for cockroaches! It's because when the clothes are shipped in trucks they are just in brown boxes! Bugs and whatever else crawl over everything (spreading all germs and diseases) and the store just takes them out to put on display! My Dr. also said to wash everything before you ware it because that's how you also get ringworm!
I have bought lots of clothes, online, hung them in my closet with the tags and then months or years later end up donating them. I never return anything. It drives my mother crazy. 😏
Don't think I will be purchasing the Shoof 😉 I never left the tags, wore it then returned it... BUT I worked at John Wanamaker's back in the day and the "older" ladies would buy gowns to ware at charity events and return them when done... You could smell all the perfume 😷😱 they kept the tags on... Some would have make-up on them 😒
That looks like a piece of crappie. I believe it would break in a matter of a short time. We had an apple chopper that was very similar and our 1st week it broke. But thank you for the review. Answer, no I have never nor would I. I rarely buy new clothes but if I do, I just buy my size and go. Lol not into changing room and checking to see if it looks ok. Haha
I thought only guys would buy a big flat screen, leave tags on, watch Superbowl with friends then take it back to the store the next day.. Clothes not so much...
Not clothes but I did buy a beer cooler once to bring to a party one night and returned it the next day. Looking back now I feel like a total asshole now., 😁
Omg I hate these kinds of cutters. They just don't work. I will edit after I have watched. Not holding out hope 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 Ok I have no fingers on my left hand. This seems like a winner. Buying it. If nothing I will take it back to Kohl's.

Did it take lots of work? Or did it cut through like butter?
Right off the bat, was a pleasant surprise
A very quick push. Voila! Nice steak fries!

It did really well, cutting all the way through
The apple with core, pretty much was a fail
Once the core was removed, it was a smooth sail
For Robyn t'was easy, with her much greater height
Shorter in stature, Cathy needed more might
The spiral attachments, left the two uninspired
After a very short while, Cathy's wrist got too tired
With a double thumbs up, the two seemed very happy
Despite the spirals, which they deemed to be crappy
A chick thing it is, to return clothes after wear
Okay for a dress, but please not underwear
I've never done it. Once I wear it, it's mine

Exactly! 💕
Impressive on the potatoes.. Great review,Ladies..
No I haven't but my friend does this a lot..
Good tip about washing before wearing..
Thanks!
It seems to me they should be thinking of those of us that can't bear down to chop or dice. I did make nice work of the potato for fries. What about strawberries and tomatoes?
Good review ladies 👍
I’m going try tomatoes tomorrow, I’ll let you know.
It did not work on tomatoes, it just smashed them. 🙁
Closest I've ever done to the QotD was buying from China and things were too small for myself or my daughter.
Never have I ever done that. If fact, I rarely return anything. Now I need one of those gadgets.
I came through Last Thursday. I’m now in Gettysburg. Leaving Wednesday for Syracuse to Hercules candy shop. And then to my original hometown to visit my friends from school Buffalo New York. Spent about 10 days there, Head back home to California
Wow! I didn’t realize you lived in CA!
I can't believe you've never seen an apple corer before.... I use mine all the time!
Hi you two ;)
Answer to your question, Nope, I have never done that.
But I have bought something and then something was wrong with the fabric and then I went to the store and they decided to take it bake or give me a new of the item. That is good service :D
I havent tried the Shoof, but I have my Nicer Dicer, called here. The one from the side you didnt like.. And I as I told you last time, make fruit salat with it and as I tell you this now, you problably remember me telling you that my mother in-law calls it monkey food, well, I just found out that the place my step son is after school, they call it monkeyfood too.
Funny enough, I have never ever heard that word before my boyfriend told me about it and called it that, but now someone called it that too, that is just so funny :D
Have a great day/evening, I will go to bed now, it 00.35 (12.35 AM) and have been up since 6.30 AM, so Im pretty tired now. And Im the one getting up with both (step) kids, coz their father hasnt been sleeping very well the last 5 nights, so now he has to sleep, so he too a speciel nature medicine to get some good sleep tonight, otherwise he wont function very well.. So I told him to take it
Oh yeah I remember the monkeyfood! That’s pretty funny!
I hope everyone was able to get a good night sleep! Have a great weekend! 💕
@@2centchick hi hi, yeah its so funny 🤣
Thanks, we did 😴😴
And hope you have a great weekend too 💖
I want one! Great video ladies. QOTD no I haven't xxx
Thanks! Have a great weekend! 💕
Great product. Im going to check that out. .Thank you for sharing that... And no never have i boughten something and wore it and then returned it. 😁😁😁
You’re welcome!
How much was it?
$25
Pretty good gadget girls. I agree, for french fries, onion, apple, dicing. Is good. Never had a situation or returning clothes. Very informative today young ladies. Thank you., Uncle Gary 👍👏😘
You’re welcome Uncle Gary! 😉😁
Thank you! 💕
Great Demo..... I want one NOW....
Did you "tape" this differently? It had audio drop outs and sync problems. It didn't seem to be up to your standards.
That’s weird! We didn’t do anything different.
Cathy ! I am in love ! ! Cheers from Canada, Polar Bear country.
U should have tried some tomatoes to show it does hard and soft fruit or veggies
I’m going to try tomatoes today. I will post a video in the community tab.
Tomatoes did NOT work at all! It just smashed them. 🙁
What do you guys do with all the food you use in videos like this? That’s a lot of onions and french fries 🤣
We froze the onions. 😁
😂🤣 I’m not sure how great that would be. Lol
I have to say that is have bought something kept the tags on and wore it and then returned it!! ;(
No judgement here! 😀
It's a gadget, soooo... that's an instant like and comment :D
LOL 😀
I have not done that but i had a friend buy her prom dress from sears , wear it and then returned it. Lol.
Oh wow! LOL
You’re welcome! 💕 We appreciate you watching.
It seems this item is no longer available in the market...
Not a fan of Waldorf Salad. However I do enjoy a Ritz Salad on occasion.
😂
Omg I can’t find one so sad and I need it in that turquoise color.
No! When I had a chopper, similar to that one, I found it was easier to let the blade part dry before I cleaned it. When the food is damp, it's harder to get the food out of the small chopper. Especially onions. Then you wash it! :)
Thanks for the tip!
I have a Veggie Matic from the 70's and this is a new version. Google Veggie Matic
Very cool! I wish the Shoof had the apple slicer.
We had one when I was a kid .
I'm not usually a gadget geek, but I want that.
QOD: Never, and I can't be judgement free...I find it appalling.
Don't throw that piece away, you can use it to sharpen your over-sized pencil. Lol 😆
Good idea! 😁
I like that chopper... I would use it for beets so my hands didn’t get dyed... but Robyn how can you eat raw potatoes!!! I’m still cringing
LOL My husband does that too. 🤷♀️ 😝 C-
I NEED this for onions and fries!!! Soooo bad
Love your video, as usual, and Nope I haven't. 😉
No can't say i have. I have bought things before. Got home and decided i didn't want it and took it back
Google Veg- O- Matic , this is a remake of an vintage product.
We will! Thanks!
We had one when I was a kid. That was my first thought when I seen this.
Question of the day: No. I shop at secondhand stores for most of my wardrobe though. I love to Pilfer!
I knew I liked you! 😀 C-
2¢ Chicks yasss! I obviously like you too! And Robyn!
I have watched many of your videos, Cathy does not read directions ever lol. that is the only reason i watch lol
🤷♀️ lol
Wow that's cool
No, never have but know people who have done it. Absolutely wash first!
Grate video
This is awesome! I might actually go order one!
And YES!!! always wash your clothes after you buy them. I got an allergy test done and they test for cockroaches! It's because when the clothes are shipped in trucks they are just in brown boxes! Bugs and whatever else crawl over everything (spreading all germs and diseases) and the store just takes them out to put on display! My Dr. also said to wash everything before you ware it because that's how you also get ringworm!
Yuck! 😝
That’s a winner… winner chicken dinner.
I've never worn something and returned it after wearing it. I only do it if it doesn't fit right. If the shoof fits wear it😂😄
😂
I have bought lots of clothes, online, hung them in my closet with the tags and then months or years later end up donating them. I never return anything. It drives my mother crazy. 😏
It drives me crazy when I go in my daughter’s closet and find clothes with tags that she had to have. I know how your mother feels! Lol
Don't think I will be purchasing the Shoof 😉
I never left the tags, wore it then returned it... BUT I worked at John Wanamaker's back in the day and the "older" ladies would buy gowns to ware at charity events and return them when done... You could smell all the perfume 😷😱 they kept the tags on... Some would have make-up on them 😒
Oh wow! I surprised they were able to return them.
@@2centchick policy was we had to if they had the receipt and tags intact. Guess that's why they went out of Business
Haha
I cringed when you put your finger on the blade cause they are super sharp, at least those fold over blades are.
too bad no wedges
I thought only guys would buy a big flat screen, leave tags on, watch Superbowl with friends then take it back to the store the next day.. Clothes not so much...
So have you returned a TV? 😁
Not clothes but I did buy a beer cooler once to bring to a party one night and returned it the next day. Looking back now I feel like a total asshole now., 😁
No judgement here! 😀
Omg I hate these kinds of cutters. They just don't work. I will edit after I have watched. Not holding out hope 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Ok I have no fingers on my left hand. This seems like a winner. Buying it. If nothing I will take it back to Kohl's.
We were surprised how well it worked. Oh that’s right Kohl’s takes Amazon returns!
Stick to taters and onions Cathy I nearly had a heart attack watching you go at that apple.
LOL sorry! I still have all 10! 😁
I am a man so NO to question of the day. I would never go to the store twice for something I bought once.
LOL
