For all tiger players, use the PZGR. Round NOT the pzgr 39. Slightly less pen, but mounds more he filler. Can overpressure basically everything you see. Also, use the heat shell instead of HE. More tnt mass.
I do have to disagree with this "common knowledge". The HE and PzGr 39 have practically identical ballistics compared to the HEAT, making it very easy to swap without thinking. The HE is also much less likely to deflect randomly than the HEAT. Sure, the HE has less TNT mass but it's still *enough* to do the job. Same with PzGr 39.
The 76mm US gun is famed for its one-shot effectiveness, and yet it has a little more than *half* the filler of PzGr 39. The HE shell is not only better than the US 76, but also the US 75's HE shells. Why trade the HE for the crappy ballistics, much higher ricochet chances, and worse fuse of the HEAT? The HE does the job.
Similarly, the PzGr 39 has more than enough filler to reliably kill - more than 85mm BR-365K or the 76mm M62, and very close to the infamously thermonuclear 85mm BR-365A and 90mm M82 shells.

@@LTSarcasm the pzgr shell is just better in some cases, at least imo, for example the t26e5, pretty much frontally invulnerable to the short 88mm, with the pzgr shell I have killed around 10 t26e5 through the cupola via overpressure, and is-2s sometimes the mantle or lfp sometimes refuses to pen for some reason, shooting the cupola with the pzgr shell is very effective way to kill them. I can agree to carry HE instead of HEAT though, cause the 88mm heat is just shit, just use the HE for the m109 spam that’s plaguing the 6.0 br
