I shed a tear when it was happening live but this was so much more emotional. I have watched 1000's of hours of basketball and 1000's of Raptors games, a day 1 fan, but when vince was the best play in the league for those 4-5 raptors good times, nothing better. Thank you Vince, all love, much deserved, and that banner is fire. Peace we the north 15 forever.
My exact thoughts from another day 1 Raptors fan and even earlier basketball fan. Vince will always be my favorite player and will always be my GROAT -- noone comes even close, not Kyle, not DeMar, not Kawhi ..NOONE!
If this video doesn't bring a tear to your eyes you are at the wrong place!!! Man, Vince Carter, a legend, a tender father and husband. A great son, humble and appreciative for everything he has got. You just can not feel anything but LOVE for this man.
Took a train from Montreal to attend that Raptors/Kings game. I coach basketball since the days I finished high school because of the passion i have for basketball. And the reason I have that passion is because of Vince Carter. He will forever be my favourite player and the favourite player of an entire generation of Canadians, many of whom now play professionally and who have repped the Canada jersey internationally. For myself and all the people (teammates or opponents) who i got to share a court with in and around Montreal: Thank you - from the 514... 4ever 15
John, my man. Rest in peace. You are a hardworking, humble, positive man. We will remember you, every shot you shot, every audio you recorded for Open Gym forever, brother.
This was the best thing this channel has released recently. I've been a huge Raptors fan since day 1 [I was at Skydome for the first game!] and even earlier basketball fan. Mike was my favorite player. Vince changed all that. Since Vinsanity showed up, he has been and will always be my favorite player and will always be my GROAT -- noone comes even close, not Kyle, not DeMar, not Kawhi ..NOONE!
Vince is the GROAT, no offence to Lowry. Vince was a superstar who was humble and embraced being a Raptor near the beginning of the franchise when not many knew about us as a basketball city. He didn’t talk poorly about TO or the Raps after leaving even though he wasn’t treated respectfully by foolish fans. He shouldn’t have been traded and I wish Masai had added him to the team at the 2019 deadline just before the championship. He’s always a Toronto legend. Thank you Vince. ❤
I hope it doesn't end with VC. I hope that there will be new generations of players coming up who were inspired by DeMar, Kyle, the championship year and the new era of the team.
if tmac carter and billups were together with AD, ur talking about Kobe & Shaq losing 2 of their 3 rings I dont think ppl realize how incredible TMac was He was the first KD
@@philojudaeusofalexandria9556 The wrong for the Raptors organization was never paired him with another star. Look at the players he played with. Antonio Davis was probably the best teammate he had. How many teams would win a playoff series with AD as your second best player? ZERO. Learn how to watch basketball.
@@challenger516 Your vitriol is so strange. I only said I wanted Vince to return, and implied that he should have never been traded. Why do you think that means that I think Antonio Davis was a star?
True Raptors fans know VC deserves to be a HOFer and his jersey to be retired in Tdot. Those that don't agree, can continue to embarrass themselves into their senior years lmao
They shoulda done the ceremony when Golden state was in town, woulda been more fitting I think... Was drafted by them, had that iconic dunk contest at the all star wknd which was in golden state that year. And steph was inspired by him. Any ways... Thank you Vince. 🙏🏾

This was incredibly well done. Wow.

One of the best looking retirement banners in the league. That dunk. Damn.
Glad to be able to witness vince’s jersey retirement at the game. It was an incredible experience. I’ll forever cherish that moment 🥹❤️
Loved this. I'm not crying you're crying .....So many great memories. Well deserved Vince, thank you for everything.

Love VC till the day I die ...still my all time favorite
He deserves more praise and gratitude
Amazing video!!!
AD was hella underrated. So consistent
Really wish demar and Kyle got to play alongside him in Toronto. The aura would have been thru the roof.

Good job Open Gym, good job 👏🏽💜💯
aww.. that last scene with his mom... 💜
There'll always be haters, but not from this guy... Thanks VC15 for the many years of highlights. It's funny how time and maturity changes things.
#EXCELLENCE my brother. You've changed so many lives. And you never forgot about Daytona Beach. #GIC4LIFE

city woulda been crazy if he did come back
He can still come back in coaching/management and/or as a fan ambassador. Would finally 'right' a 20-year-old 'wrong'.
@@philojudaeusofalexandria9556 Stop the cap. He never did anything wrong.
@@challenger516 The 'wrong' was him not being in a Raptors uniform for the last 16 years of his career.
Blame whoever you want, but it was not right.

THE original AD
❤❤❤❤
I noticed Richard Peddie is conveniently missing in action🤡
I hate that guy !! lol
its over !
Imagine if he stayed, VC, prime Chris Bosh and Jermaine O’neal
I'm pretty sure he would have stayed if Mcgrady re-signed. In my opinion that was the beginning of the end.
Ur wrong unfortunately , Tracy McGrady left in 1999. Vince left him many years later@@James-wp3zc
Thought i would see Dell Curry there🤔
