Apologies for the re-upload, there was an error in the original.
Everyone: Sony 28-70 f2
Chirstopher: Sigma 30mm f1.4
😂 He'll still be the first to test it on a Sony A7RIII though.
He couldn't review it due to the effect of diffraction.

Underrated 😂😂
I've had this lens for Sony for years, and it has been fantastic. Then again, I never zoomed to 200 percent. Thanks for the great content as usual.
This looks very soft at 1.4, I have this on my micro 4 thirds camera and it does a lot better there. I only wish sigma would have redesign this lens for newer systems.
It would be because of the sensor. As Chris said, the 32mp in the R7 is challenging. Even the old 18-35 f1.8 can barely handle it.
@HeadlessChickenTO this is exactly my point. The micro 4 thirds sensor is roughly the same pixel density
I think Sigma needs to adapt the 16mm and 56mm to the RF-S mount. I have these lenses for my m50 MKII and they are excellent. Canon needs to release updated versions of their ef-m F2 22mm and F1.4 32MM lenses. And fully support the RF-S mount unlike their EF-M line
They are, it's announced together
@zegzbrutal ah thank you for the clarification!
Oh dear the CA and LOCA on this... I forgot how strong they were, or perhaps didn't notice so strongly as a6400 I had it on only was 24mp. Very much prefer the (cheaper and smaller) Samyang 45 f1.8 on the A7IV. This lens is still ok for a 24mp camera but is seriously starting to show its age.
CA and LoCA are probably the only problems on the sigma APSC line sadly, I think they're great at f2 though
@@yatoakito2037 Except sigma 56
Been looking for a 30-35mm for my 24MP APS-C, great timing on the vid drop
Are using canon?
Please test it on Canon R10
I'm hoping lower 24MP will be better for this lens
Christopher, will you be releasing reviews of the Sigma 16mm and 23mm RF? I'd really like to see how they behave on the R7.
This lens should be just fine for a 24MP sensor. It was amazing on my M50.
Funnily enough I still have this lens for EF-M despite not having my M50 anymore.
I have this for my Fuji X-S10, and I have been very happy with it!
I wonder how the optical quality of this lens compares to the latest version of the Pentax FA 31mm f1.8 Ltd.
Can anyone explain that why SIGMA is not manufacturing any RF full frame lenses rn?
And will sigma make them in future?
Canon only started giving RF mount licenses more freely last year so it's going to take some time for manufacturers to adapt their lenses for Canon. We just have to wait for their re-releases
There are not really any APSC pro lenses for the RF mount, Sigma is taking the chance to fill the gap with great APSC lenses.
Canon allowed for apsc so they can sell more R7/R10 cameras and in meantime focus on most expensive full frame lenses
So when the other 2 are released, i'm guessing we can expect the same performances and downsides from their other mount contemporaries. I'm shopping for f1.2/f1.4 primes, even older EF La
Any chance you will you review the new Yongnuo 35 mm f1.8z DA DSM WL for Nikon? It would be a new challanger in these focal lengths and with extra gimmick focus puller. it looks very promising and so cheap, but i can't see any review anywhere😢
It seems like this lens performs better on the M6 Mark II compared to the R7. Given that both bodies are 32MP, I'm not sure if the issue lies with the individual lens or the difference in image quality brought about by the camera bodies ?
When will you review the 16mm and the 23mm?
Review of the new Meike 33mm 1.4?
Hello Chris! Correct me if I´m not right, but interestingly enough, I think the RF35 1.8 had much better results not being native for apsc and having a decent preis and stabilization!! So interesting... I expected much more from this Sigma Lenses!
How does this compare to the sigma 30mm 1.4 art version for SLR? Is it an upgrade in any way?
Very informative video, as usual. Waving from The Islands of The Bahamas 🇧🇸
By the way, I actually bought a used copy of the Sigma 8-16mm lens that you liked years ago. Wonderful piece of kit, indeed 😊
can be attached to fullfarme?
Never been this early Love your videos
On r5 how will it be
I have the M mount version. How do you think they compare?
Do you still need to line-up the rear lens cap to mount it?
Under 500 CAD sounds pretty good! Is it better then canons 30mm with IS?
Looking at the performance on this, I'd look at the FF compatible (you never know) Canon 35 half macro, but not before checking a review at least on a 45mp FF and being very critical of the center/mid frame (the part you will "magnify" on aps-c crop)
The lens will cover APS-H for those wondering so 37.5mm
APS-H with the 1.3 crop?
Disappointing IQ at open apertures, but somewhat expected. Thanks for the review.
The R7 is really a B cam for FF shooter or an entry for futur FF shooter. Either way better investing in FF glass
We are waiting for 28-70 f2 GM review of yours 😅
Hello Chris, please do review of fujifilm new 16-55 f2.8 mark 2. we are waiting for this please.
It's an affordable lens but its performance is a little disappointing wide open. At f2 it looks very usable for me and f2.8 perfect.
Chromatic aberration is ridiculously bad for a brand new 2024 lens.
Because this is NOT a "new" lens. Its just been adapted to RF mount.
I do not really like the longitudinal chromatic aberration. Bokeh in the background being a bit greenish.
Viltrox > Sigma
No one figures out that Sigma is the only allowed third party manufacturer with low quality glass with R mount? Viltroxs render better than many RF ones, including Canon's Full Frame line up. There's more to deeply investigate
Everyone begging for soft ass aftermarket glass...
What Happened to my comm?
Gee what’s wrong with mine?
I had to re-edit and re-upload the video
