Putin has been building up for this invasion for years. He started with Crimea, feeling safe under the protection of China. The negative diplomatic response from the Western enemies made him go all in on fixing elections all over the West, 'cause democracy is pathetically easy to manipulate. Hitler did it with mass rallies, Putin did it with social media. The masses of people are insignificant peasants that will be told what to believe. Brexit was his first major triumph to weaken the hated EU project, the 2016 POTUS his second to weaken the even more hated NATO project. It was p ss easy. Of course Putin was gonna keep fixing the elections and keep his willing puppet in Washington, 'cause the masses will always be stupid little children. Putin had plenty of time to build up and train his armies before the invasion of not just all of Ukraine, but the Baltic, Poland and whatever else is entitled to the boot of the Motherland, until he will march triumphantly into a crushed Paris like Tsar Alexander.
But then the Western enemies started fighting back against the Napoleon and Hitler of our time. The average peasant suddenly woke up from the hypnosis. Suddenly Putin's genius plans started unravelling and fast. The numbers showed his puppet in America was gonna lose. So he triggered a biological attack that murdered millions, hoping to terrify the voters in broken America to not vote in the cities that won't vote for his puppet. It failed. He lost his puppet.
Now Putin has run out of time. He had to invade Ukraine now.
And he is losing.

Norway learned from WW2 that is true, but that lesson was 80 years ago. Norway have spent the last 30 years unlearning that lesson, it has disbanded and decomitioned its forces and equipment and are today lacking all from Socks to Helicopters.
The minimum force required to hold Norway for any useful ampunt of time is 41 battalions according to the Norwegian Chief of the defence staff, the country currently have 4 battalions. The math here is appalling.
No Ukraine with its army is a lot harder to take than Norway. The geography makes Norway a lot easier to defend, but then you still need that force.

Japan just bought the Osprey so they're clearly not dangerous and unreliable. The US Marines use them on the assault carriers because they're like helicopters, but can fly fast like airplanes.

The Lower 48 states. Alaska and Hawaii are the other two. Hawaii doesn't get cold, but Alaska gets very cold. He said the weather doesn't get so cold in the lower 48 states. He was wrong. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Maine and Montana regularly get as cold or colder than Norway. But it's good to make Norway feel special.

Actually if you look at a map the extreme most northern part of Norway actually borders with Russia so Norway's actually in danger of attack, they're one of the first countries that joined NATO

@Ty the soviets were in Afghanistan for 70 years building hospitals and schools and had women in government and colleges. Then, the coup happened (America may have played a part, it is unclear).
