Many considerations. I’m a single black female and know absolutely nothing mechanical. So being alone, finding acceptance in all communities, being safe & knowing how to manage the upkeep etc are reasons why I’m hesitant. Have 22 years in and need to work 4.5 more (56 1/2) to optimize retirement and pay for medical (CA single plans are pricey). I’m researching now and watching all the pros and cons and understanding the power, water, pull, weight, electrical, etc systems and why some choose propane or not, etc. Also class b, c or camper truck. I must say I’m sold on Host Cascade because it’s everything I need plus my vehicle on hand. Hitching a car scares me to death. And traveling around town in a Class C isn’t feasible for my lifestyle. Focusing on paying my house off before retirement so I can keep my home and travel more than half the time. Kids are adults & have a new first grandchild and all I know is I’m really tired of working in a high pressure, political & executive environment & I mostly enjoy seeing my grandson and working remotely which is not often in my line of work. Sorry for the dissertation but it’s my truth. I sincerely appreciate folks like you who take the time to share, educate & record your experiences from an honest perspective. I literally cannot wait to be on the road & the Lord knows this all too well. Be safe & please keep positing. Also LOVE your camper.
new subscribers here! we have bene living in our truck camper for the last 2 years but we have a much smaller one than y'all. your camper is beautiful by the way! love the setup. We are currently searching for our new home which will be a travel trailer. It's been quite a journey!
Howdy, and thanks for stopping by! We've watched some of your videos as well - it does get a WEE bit tight in a truck camper but yeah, ours does have a little more space. Wow - changing to a travel trailer - that might give you a bit more breathing room and I'm sure a lot of future amazing adventures along with the obligatory challenges ! What an exciting next step for you both!
@ thank you! Yes we are so excited but also bummed to be selling the truck camper. They really are so funand oh the places it’ll take you! Happy travels !
Nice video For me being a single traveler you have to worry about everything but the biggest thing I miss is the laughing and memories you share together. Happy trails to both of you and enjoy!
Traveling solo definitely adds a lot more challenges but you also learn a lot about yourself and what you can really do. I hope you meet other awesome folks on the road like we have to get in those smiles and laughter- it can get a bit lonely.
You two are awesome folks. We enjoy visiting with you when you're up here. Look forward to seeing you this fall. We enjoy watching and learning from your videos.
Your new Mississippi friends are amazing people!! We had the pleasure of camping next to them last year at the Truck Camper Adventure rally in Quartzsite! They quickly became friends! Great folks!!
I knew we were trying to search for everything about full-timing in a truck camper before we jumped into this lifestyle. I hope this can help some folks out there that may be on the fence. Thanks for the comment!
That's so exciting! And getting to that winter will be both the absolute slowest AND the fastest you can remember - it's one of those weird time things. Getting ready and started can be pretty overwhelming, but OH the places you will see! Maybe we'll catch each other on the road too!
Good Video. Wife wants to go full-time next spring, sell our Truck Camper and get an Airstream ($$$$), not sure yet. If ya like boon docking so much WTH are you paying $600 for a thousand trails? It looked like your video said $600 a month, that can't be right! That is too much money!Currently in AZ & loving it, even FL go snow this year...ha ha! Be safe and Have fun!!
Airstreams are nice, it just depends on how you travel! Yeah Thousand Trails are for when we're on the east side of the US. Not really good options there, but I'm still questioning the value we're getting. So don't talk about it much. I'm paying it off in 2 years hence the larger monthly payment. Thought we could get into resorts in FL easier. But nope. 🙄
No.... Full time only in a Motorhome of van.. When that angry drunk (or junkie) shows up (and eventually they will) YOU ARE TRAPPED.... No way to leave... In this situation (which did happen once to me) I leave, you potentially die.. My old Class A 1 million times over your $200,000.00 truck camper.
I can see your perspective - that is one thing I do wish we had - a passthrough to the cab of the truck. Some truck campers do, but this one doesn't since we have a full basement to keep tanks and batteries warm. Luckily we do not make purchase decisions solely on fear. If that's the case, we'd never have started full-timing in the first place!
Have you considered RVing full-time? Let us know why YOU haven't taken the leap!

You are absolutely right! It's so great to meet others that have similar interests on the road. Live to meet new friends throughout the US!
Pretty good guys! Keep it up! 👍

Great review and perspective.

Great video. You guys are great. We are getting ready for Quartsite.
You'll have a blast out there! I'm a bit jealous - would love to go, but we'll just shoot for next year!
I can't wait till my wife and I can be full-time. Slowly working to that goal. Should be there by winter this year.

Nive vid. We are in FL also. Just got out 2022 Cascade about 1 month ago. Looking forward to retirement in 3 months and getting out and about.
You're gonna love it, and congrats on the pending retirement! Happy future travels!

@@TheJoslynJourney it's not fear, it is reality. And several full time lose their life yearly
@CANADIANWARRIOR-i2o I can understand the concern. This lifestyle is certainly not for everyone.
