It's a stupid plugin while I don't mind random people to use it, many botters out there are using it and they are the real problem, until SE fix botting (which is likely not gonna happen) this will be a problematic plugin.
A big problem with current undercutting is not the penny less people it's the 100k less on an item people, if everyone had this the market would stabilize a bit easier... probably.
@@Saieden don't be mistaken. If i sell my stuff (and i only list one item and not all of them at once) i just put in a new item and be lower again. Granted i don't undercut by 100k, but trying to buy out competition is a bad advice and can burn new players really bad, if they're tight on Gil.
@@snoozebutton9996 Wholesale buyout, I definitely agree, but the odd snipe here and there, and where it makes sense, is fair game imo. That's why i think the emphasis on the "odd snipe here and there" is important.
It's still so wild to me that SE still to this point has done nothing to address how awful the marketboard is. They should front load the tax by making the person listening the item pay a small fee, which also dissuades people from rapidly relisting an item to undercut. Also, you shouldn't have to care about stack size when listing items, buyers should just see the number of listings for an item at each price available from everyone (which also massively cuts down on clutter). It'd be so much nicer if I could just throw up a stack of items and have people buy however many they want out of it.
This is how my old game worked. 5% listing fee tax just to put for sale for 48 hours tops before auto removed from selling. Every price change was another 5% of profit you lost so we never did this stupid 1 gil undercut because it doesn't take long to lose 20-30% of the original intended price. Would you rather waste time and lose 20-30% or undercut by 15-20% to stoke an immediate sell.
I really do hate this myth that 1 gil undercutting saves a market. It's a failed attempt to try to counter a demand vs. supply problem inside of the market. Massive undercuts happen because supply exceeds demand while simultaneously one person or more has a high demand for selling right then. It is a loss of overall funds to stayed glued to your retainer to constantly check for 1 gil undercuts as opposed to going to back to crafting or farming. The point of massive undercuts isn't just to sell first, it's to find a price that you won't be undercut with that you can bulk sell at. 1 gil undercut is something for people new to a market/a visitor. It is not a long term, I run this market pricing strategy that optimizes sales because you're sharing profits instead of maximizing them. The reason every meaningful market has decent undercuts and not 1 gil undercuts is because for people who main at making gil, whether as a hobby or for RMT, don't want to share profits. Sharing profits lowers your total income because you end up with a backstock of things to sell. A 1gil undercut market will never hold unless its in some random trash market or on a dead server. But thanks for promoting a plugin that's one out-of-game basic macro from automatic undercutting since checking prices and typing out prices are gone now.
@@SugarPopoto Time is an opportunity cost. If an item sells at a higher value, but it takes longer to sell, then that's retainer "shelf space" that could have been used to possibly ship 2x or 3x the product amount at a lower price point.

Maybe this is just me being paranoid and afraid especially with 7.0 looming closer and closer and could likely permanently break plugins and mods for a very long time and will see a switch to DX12.
@@phux That's stupid as hell, you are the only person losing by doing that. Most of the time people will resell your lower item for profit, you don't really do any difference
But unless people protect the market item prices may drop to their 1/4 or 1/10 in a day, even without any changes in supply or demand - some just get scared at the concept of not selling, and spiral into an undercut loop. It’s pretty bad for suppliers who buy materials, risking their material costs will exceed their gains, then if they decide to abandon selling the item then supply drops and prices skyrocket, while material prices also drop bc there is noone to absorb them. 🤷🏻♀️ I think it’s less frustrating for everyone this way, and everyone likes their efforts amply rewarded
It's the same thing here. But right now a reasonable way to stop people from undercutting too much, or at least start with yourself. Its a clear advantage nonetheless and I would not deny that.
I don't mind people clicking less to change prices, but I think there needs to be like a 30 minute (or longer!) cooldown on changing prices. Or maybe changing prices should come with a fee so that people have to be strategic on how often/by how much they lower their prices. Right now the market on some servers on some items are basically completely on lockdown by people who leave their characters running all day. They either manually update their prices a lot (maybe they work from home and can do that all day long) or they have some kind of script/bot running that periodically updates all of their prices every X minutes. I don't mind competing against Humans and I don't mind if something cuts down on menu clutter. But automation is basically impossible to compete against without breaking the ToS and using automation yourself.
> they have some kind of script/bot running that periodically updates all of their prices every X minutes Yes, I wrote a script to automatically undercut for me. And no, you can't fool it by deliberately setting extremely low prices.
I feel it is safe to use, I use them and also UI too. But I have Question. wonder is it ok to stream? is it safe to use them in stream? or have a chance to get ban if stream?
Oooohoho, be careful bc if I only got or made one of an item I don’t plan on mass producing, I will put that in much cheaper. Why? Of course for mass producers to buy it off me, while they too can get a reasonable cut reselling it. 🤷🏻♀️ I only need a quick sell to empty my bags . So don’t accidentally undercut that- I don’t seem to be alone doing this sometimes. Also selling pentamelded gear is interesting to me, bc those without professions cannot overmeld even using an NPC it seems. I wasn’t aware, and didn’t get the point for a while.😮
