Eddie Fisher was one of the best singers of the early '50's. Thank you SO much for uploading this rare footage! "Anytime" was one of his first big hits, charting at #2 in Billboard in 1951. It's a great song, and this is one of the earliest TV appearances I've seen of Eddie. I'd also love to see him sing "Forgive Me" on this episode. Thanks again, I love this video!
The smooth war era crooners were gone, Dean Martin and the lounge lizards and Elvis weren't really in yet and there was Eddie with his dramatic voice, sort of like Frank Sinatra. I remember Eddie's songs being on the radio when I was very young.
I was in a Drs office in Beverly hills with my uncle when Eddie was sitting across from me, he got up frim his chair and git down on one knee took my hand and said "your so beautiful, will you marry me?". The nurse called him and my uncle looked at me and said "do you know who that is and i said no......he said "that is Eddie Fisher ". true story. I was 17! ☺️
@@JoeHarkinsHimself Perry Como had about 15 gold records between 1945 and 1971 and highly successful radio and television shows for 20 years. It wasn't all because he was a nice guy.
He was a big star when there were big stars. Misjudgment finished his career and the key element was Liz. She wasn’t hurt in the least but it finished his career. He was Liz’s pet.
Those Hollywooders, then as now, had the morals of alley cats and for the most part were too immature to have real relationships. Now half of them are satanic.
true the moment he left debbie for liz is when eddie's career was over!! liz taylor said she never loved eddie fisher but eddie has said she was the love of his life. he had nothing good to say about debbie reynolds. i felt that liz just needed eddie by her side because her husband who died in airplane crash was close to eddie. she used him and he got it back from richard burton when he told eddie that he was in love with his wife
You must be one of those people who likes frenetic awful salsa crap. Get used to what an actual voice in an actual song sounds like and deal with ...your comment was boring
How exactly does feeling 'down hearted' be showing your love for your romantic partner ? This infantile key of C blasting is as horrid as the pathetic words.
eddie's anytime breaking hearts since then
Eddie had the big pop hit with it, and Eddy Arnold had the big country hit with it.
Eddie Fisher was great. The best voice ever.
Wow. I didn’t expect such a powerful voice.

Is this the same Eddie Fisher who was with Debbie Reynolds and had daughter, Carrie Fisher?
@@judahslion5611 Yes, this is he!
Never should have divorced Debbie Reynolds
Одна из лучших его песен.
What a song!!! What a voice!!!
I was a big fan..went to see his tv show live twice and belonged to his fan club
The greatest singer ever !!!

Love this video, the screaming girls loved him too..lol.
Such a beautiful song ❤
The late great Eddie Fischer on Toast of The Town Sunday March 23,1952😀👍🏿 FYI: one of my favorite song from Eddie is “Oh Pa Pa”😀👍🏿
What a beautiful voice
He and Perry Como had the most powerful voices of the popular crooners.
ER, PERRY COMO, ???
Yes. Have you heard his versions of Prisoner of Love, Why Did You Leave Me?, Temptation, If, Because?@@vicgallimore6756
Como was a very nice man. Eddie Fisher was a SINGER

Fisher's voice was Way Beyond Perry Como..
Elvis Presley before Elvis came along. A popular crooner and teenage heart-throb of the early '50s.
Like Elvis he even got drafted into the army
Every man was drafted into the Army in those days.
Una voz muy educada.
Yep. Great voice. Who are you Geezer?

He did get to bang her for a time so it wasn't all lost.

Fisher was no "crooner". The man could really sing, and sing a lot better than a lot of his Mafioso contemporaries.
Princess Leia’s daddy.
Protege of Eddie Cantor.

Eddie became a cartoon figure concerning Liz Taylor and Debbie Reynolds and all that junk. However............this guy could really sing
My favourite singer until he hitched onto Liz Taylor
Val Doomicad
looks like dominick cruz.
I can't understand Why when Eddie Fisher left his wife for Liz Taylor it ruined his career but it didn't ruin hers, does anybody know why ?
You can clearly see the influence of Jolson, another singer who favoured moleskin pants.
The poor man's Sinatra 😂
He could sing rings around old all full of himself, Frank..lol😅
개같은 세상..피 토하는 음악..ㄹ
Are you serious? What a horrible Chinese comment. He was happily married to a Chinese woman the last eight years of his life.
Opinions are like buttholes..... Everybody's got one and they're usually full of s*** . even if you're Chinese..lol
Su voz me aburre.
