This is far and away among the best instructional/ review videos that Ive ever seen....you guys speak so well, super relevant content, fun to listen to...Im just really impressed. This is the first video that Ive seen of your content and I will be digging through the rest of your stuff tonight! Wow - great work guys
This game its nuts knowing that you can practically create Loadouts for heroes For example having 3 distinc 60 cards decks for the same hero is amazing ❤️ got mu starter decks im ready
Another great thing about this game it seems is the wonderful progression as the battle goes on. For example, in the beginning, you're both saving resources and trading blows, taking damage, showing the strength of your attacks and defenses. But once all your equipment has broken and you've been beaten and bloodied, it takes all the strength you have to defend against your opponents next swing (defending with 2/3 cards), and then just as much to swing back, doing less than it was in the early battle. This game is so incredible looking
In New Zealand, we have no community transmission, the only new cases of Covid-19 are occurring at the boarder, where people are quarantined in hotels for 14 days, and are tested. We have no restrictions, live sports and music events with crowds... So stores can run events. In fact one of my locals stores is running an event on Friday NZ time, Thursday your time. Classic Constructed - Constructed armory event, $20 entry, first prize is legendary and cold foil weapon, second is hero majestic and promos, third is playset of hero super rares.
We were reading the recent battle report from Pearson just this morning: metrixdaily.com/strategy/the-pearson-review-how-to-win/ Sounds like a really amazing set of decisions and meta to navigate.
I just started. Got my fist box last week. 1st edition tales of aria. Been an interesting journey from forming decks and playing against not only decks im semi familiar with (tales of aria) but also decks from the other releases and its so interesting how similar the play is but how differently each hero is played
I tried to promote this locally. The MtG/YGO/Poke crowd were to heavily invested in those games to add another collectible game to their portfolio, and the other folks were uninterested because tournament play had a lot of fatigue decks (which are uninteresting to play, play against, and watch), or didn't want to spend the hundreds of dollars the game requires to build a collection or tournament deck. Best of luck with this one fellas. I'll be back for the Skytear streams.
This video really helped me learn the different concepts of heros and gameplay in general. My son and I got through our first games by watching this video. I just wanted to say thank you for introducing Flesh and Blood to all interested. It truly is a great game! We are pitching cards like bosses now.
went to my flgs and bought the 4 starter decks after seeing how different the ninja and warrior were to the first 2 decks (yes, in the middle of this video) and came back to watch the rest. i would have bought it from covenant but i live in australia.
@@teamcovenant I comment on a 2 year old video and get a response in the same day? Y'all are great. I'm still waiting for the queen to finally be put on the banned list, she's dominated the meta for way too long.
I love the way keyforge does rarity and would love to see it in other TCGs. Common: always a good play, but usually not too strong. Uncommon: lightly situational. May require a bit of setup or some form of sacrifice, in return for being more powerful than commons. Rare type 1: harder to use, but more powerful. Often requires a lot of setup or a large sacrifice. Rare type 2: very powerful and always a good play. Placed into the rare slot because each deck can only contain two copies of the same rare.
Great stream guys. Been watching you for a while and finally started with some Flesh and Blood and decided to check out your old streams on the game. Found this video very informative, helpful and fun. Thank you!
Just got some decks/booster boxes. My father seemed interested in it so we will be playing this weekend once they come in. He kicks my butt in MTG so lets see who can win this time. :D
It takes a pretty good amount of learning before you "get" Flesh and Blood, so stick in there and get past the "I'm just pitching cards to defend every turn and I don't know why" phase!
Haha, wow. My TCG friend-group and I are very invested in mtg and have been looking for a new card game to switch it up every now and then. I think this is that game. Very glad I stumbled upon this video and your channel in general. Lots of helpful information and it makes me want to get ahold of some intro decks ASAP.
Glad to have you Jacob! We get way better as we go along throughout the streams, so catch one of the later ones if you're looking for a more realistic view of how the game plays. It only gets better.
i noticed some mistakes during the game, I assume it's likely been pointed out but you need to pay the cost of defense reactions. you may already know but in case others watching are unaware i will post it. it typically goes attack -> defense from hand -> attack reactions - > defense reaction -> end(unless a defense reaction was played if so repeat from attack reactions)
Watching this 6 months after release and I love the game concept. Unlimited is expected to be available in roughly one month and I can't WAIT to see this hit the table. Hopefully a decent scene can build in my area around this game. Looks super fun
Whoever advised you on reprise is incorrect. The reprise TRIGGERS when you PLAY the card. But it doesn't provide the benefit until you resolve. Ie. you wouldn't have gotten reprise trigger on Stroke of Foresight as Zac hadn't defended from his hand at that point. This is important for cards like rout, where you need to wait until the layer resolves before you can play rout to trigger it's ability.
I cant wait for this game to come out. Even in Lockdown i'm still playing tabletop TCG games like MTG now more than ever via google hangouts. So looking forward to playing this on the table via webcam. The mechanics and design of this game are super unique and I hope it succeeds.
@@teamcovenant Yeah after watching this i looked into the secondary market which for games like this seems to be an important thing. That collectability and chase card factor. Seems to be doing really well there. Really cant wat to try this game out
Subscribed for both Blitz and Booster halfway through this vid plus watching the previous F&B stream. This game looks great and wicked fun!! Disappointed in myself for waiting for long to get in on it. As far as spectator games, this one is up there with Netrunner. I'll apologize in advance for all the comments on these streams, I'll be going through them in order and probably comment on them all(or most). having just watched this video i immediately went and ordered 2 of the tester decks from you guys =) seems like it could be a fun game to play with the wife !
Great Video! My only complaint: Dude on the left didn't shuffle enough before starting. He riffled the deck 19 times only! Could have used at least another 11 riffles.
I really feel this is a good intro to a player looking for a new card game also I enjoy magic but it seems to need a high memory capacity for all continuous abilities counters etc… Fleah and Blood gives me more of an RPG character build style which makes it familiar want to give it a try soon!
You were talking around 3:07:00 about Keyforge online version. The funny part is that it does actually exist since very early days of the game (which I'm not playing now by the way) - it's called The Crucible Online, it plays in the browser, is very well designed, it just downloads the decks from the link to the deck in the database. Just Fantasy Flight Games doesn't want to create their own official version (of course they would be able legally to take down the fan version I think). Maybe they just do not see the way to monetize it well, with maintenance cost of such software. I don't know. But anyway - I'm watching the video two months after its release, now you can freely play games in your LGS here where I live (Poland), but if it is still the issue in USA - you can practice Keyforge online, completely free.
3:08:00 You could ahve just pitched pilgrimage and attacked with dawnblade. That sets you up nciely for the net turn as springboard somersault is now in arsenal and ready to defend 4 damage, plus you'd have a full hand.
Closest game that comes to this was DBZ. Not the garbage that is dragon ball super. Dbz was draw 3 cards. Play non combat cards. Enter combat or not. Your opponent drew 3 if you declared combat. You could save 1 card between turns. Very very similar system here just a bit cleaner and more balanced. I like it.
the one action per turn, action stacking reminds me of smash up :) Very fun game, this play through has me sold on ninja's and combos. Zack really got the gist of the deck right away - I think.
you guys know it for sure by now, but just for beginners who use this video as an instructional tool to get into. dominate was defended incorrectly against at the end of the first game: you are only allowed to defend with one card from hand. that is also true for defence reactions. it is ok to defend with a defence reaction from arsenal, which is not the hand. i made that mistake as well when i started the game.
"Elrond is Galadriel's son"...OMG, how can you call yourselves nerds! :) Great video! What happens if both players can kill each other in the same turn, like what happened in your game? Can the Defence Reaction card take effect and deal the one damage if the attacker has dealt lethal damage?
Sometimes we fail! Elves are tricky. With the stack working like it does, no damage is actually dealt until the original attack resolves. So reactions go to the top of the stack and start resolving down. If lethal damage is dealt by the reaction, that would happen before the original attack - so the reacting player would get the win.
Every time anyone asked about the ability to replace gear I thought to myself, "I hope they never make that possible for any reasonable resource cost." If this game ever became about managing equipment instead of your hand, IMHO the whole thing would fall apart.
1:40:17 I think World of Warcraft TCG is closest one to Flesh and Blood - you have a hero, you use abilities to damage your opponent and generate resourses and its pretty zoomed on duel version, that feels more like a duel (because I think Magic type duels are... abstract. You summon creatures, lands, dk, feels weird for duel IMHO. And FaB and WoW TCG in other hand is about face to face beatdown) Main difference here is that in WoW you still could summon allies and there is general more build-up element - you accomulate permanent resourses by playing cards face-down, you gather your crew and, unlike FaB, you need to find and play your equipment. So if you take all match progression there are not so simular, again, FaB is more action oriented and less about building your board to smack opponent in da face. But if we take just one round in WoW and stretch it out to full game, so you build up your characters, get some equipment and resourses, and then you just stop WoW progression - you set your gear, set up resource base, and now you just turn to turn use that gear, abilities and spells to damage your opponent, then I think we have pretty simular game... (Sorry for wall of text and for grammar, hope that I still could deliver my message :D)
The potential to be able to chain intimidate effects, to potentially wipe all of opponents hand, then have potions to take multiple actions, piling on damage..... seems like it could get busted....?
I'm trying to get into this game, I love it already and havent even played a game. Awesome Video. Where does one buy a playmat? can't find them anywhere. would be great to get one to start so i know where to put my cards. This game reminds me of Warlords, Saga of the storm. Love it.
The playmats are somewhat difficult to come by these days but generally flow through Organized Play; local stores and regional events. We give away playmats each month in our Flesh and Blood Online Armory League: cov.link/fab-armory-signup
Loving the content! I'm just learning the rules so could someone clarify: at 1:33:45 Staunch Response is used to defend, but I thought defense reactions could not be used to defend normally, so the resource cost would have to be paid? Thanks
Just found your channel after looking for Flesh and Blood starter videos. Then I found your website and the brillient subscription service! I'm on the waitlist for 1st Ed FAB products: I looked for an explanation of how this worked in the FAQ but didn't find anything; how do I get from the Waitlist to a subscriber? Thanks.
1:28:55 One time I made his twitch chat pretty mad cause I asked "Man, you're pretty good, have you ever been at any top8?" Which caused a small s***storm. To my defense, it was my first time on the stream and I didn't recognize him as the caster for all the Mk11 events ._.
For someone wanting to get into this game now, what booster boxes would you recommend? Bought a few blitz decks off of eBay (Dash, Dorinthea, Prism, and Azalea) but will want to add cards (of course!).
Everything of early FAB is pretty much just sold out across the board, so the best way to start is when Monarch drops in April. It is bringing in new starter Blitz decks that will be perfect for learning the game. Check out our subscription! cov.link/blitz-sub
@@teamcovenant Thank you! Is the subscription price for all blitz decks? Double checked and I see that it is, Subscribed and can't wait to get the blitz decks!!!
After all the streams I’ve watched, I’ve noticed that the majority of the time, Zach wins PVP games against Steven. What is the lifetime record between Zach and Steven?
I love you all... I’m a susbscribee, I liked and moved the cursor over so you get counted as a watch. Not watching 4 hour video... sorry. Okay, is there a brief outline?
It's from a universal pool, like resources were in Spoils. Here it is from the official page: "Players may add young hero and weapon card(s) of their choice to their card pool during deck construction. Cards added this way are from a publicly available pool of young hero and weapon token cards provided by the tournament organizer, or by pooling the token cards opened from the booster packs between all players in the event. (Young hero and weapon token cards are plentifully available in booster packs.)" fabtcg.com/resources/gameplay-formats/sealed-deck/
So I really don’t care at all about the collection/trading side of things. If I I’m looking for a kickass casual dueling experience is this a good game? Can I just buy the Blitz decks and play those to death? What is a viable option to Flesh and Blood in the board game/card game world?
Yes, that would be a very appropriate use for the Blitz starters. You could also look at Sealed format if you want a quick dueling experience with some deckbuilding added!
@@teamcovenant lol just pokin fun, it's rad to even get to see these things played! Katsu done so dirty with that steelblade shunt. Wish I had gotten in on the hype before the prices got so wild, the gameplay looks so snappy and satisfying.
I know this video is three years old. Where can I get a free deck of Ira? I watched the whole video and I am interested in playing this game competitively
Wish we could help! Those free Ira decks are gone from our site, at least. You might be able to find them at a local shop. Meantime, you can check out Blitz Decks to get started!
Where do you get that playmat and rulebook 0_0? I see it everywhere but I can't find it anywhere, heck the blitz deck i bought didn't even have a rule book

I wish this is available here in the Philippines though, I'm having a hard time finding this TCG
You should be able to order it from Australia or New Zeeland. I suck at geography, but would that be super expensive shipping?
"I like to do things properly," said Steven as he illegally shuffled his pitched card to the top of his deck.
Haha, perfect.
Wow ! nice game and im sold. Thank
Subscription purchased! Great stream
29:50 that shuffling without sleeves man... I am cringing hard. Otherwise very good content, keep it up :)
Loving the content! I'm just learning the rules so could someone clarify: at 1:33:45 Staunch Response is used to defend, but I thought defense reactions could not be used to defend normally, so the resource cost would have to be paid? Thanks
Ah ok, this was actually addressed later in the vid! It is as I thought. Thanks again for the coverage, got me to buy a box!
Thanks.
Hey Graham! Glad you dig it. Everyone on the waitlist will get an email when slots are available. You click the link and checkout!
Ups. I just tried the game in my local store and just ordered 1 box of the first set and 1 box of the 2nd set xD
Welcome!
1:28:55 One time I made his twitch chat pretty mad cause I asked "Man, you're pretty good, have you ever been at any top8?" Which caused a small s***storm.
To my defense, it was my first time on the stream and I didn't recognize him as the caster for all the Mk11 events ._.
An honest mistake!
Was gonna buy 8 boxes to get every promo card but realized free shipping does not apply to Canada :(
Bummer. We'll take a look at whether or not we can offer something for international shipping.
crazy seeing this a year later
you had hair in this video!
Love the flow and idea the game. Off topic how are the l5r and other legs doing during the pandemic?
The cooperative LCGs are exploding. Not sure on L5R.
For someone wanting to get into this game now, what booster boxes would you recommend? Bought a few blitz decks off of eBay (Dash, Dorinthea, Prism, and Azalea) but will want to add cards (of course!).
I want to play this game. I just don’t have no one to play or talk to about the game ☹️
Nothing like having friends.
Join us live, let's do this.
Glad I found the video. Also glad I found the game, thanks for the info! Also, where is the best place to get an intro deck?
Everything of early FAB is pretty much just sold out across the board, so the best way to start is when Monarch drops in April. It is bringing in new starter Blitz decks that will be perfect for learning the game.
Check out our subscription! cov.link/blitz-sub
@@teamcovenant Thank you! Is the subscription price for all blitz decks? Double checked and I see that it is, Subscribed and can't wait to get the blitz decks!!!
Rotten buckler and Rampart feel like 2 diffrent lvls of cards
Week 14 lockdown. Crazy.
After all the streams I’ve watched, I’ve noticed that the majority of the time, Zach wins PVP games against Steven. What is the lifetime record between Zach and Steven?
974-0
Hah, must've missed the Skytear streams.
Team Covenant #TeamSteven
@@teamcovenant yeah didn't watch any of them hehe
I love you all... I’m a susbscribee, I liked and moved the cursor over so you get counted as a watch. Not watching 4 hour video... sorry. Okay, is there a brief outline?
Love I hear someone randomly decide to shuffle their deck then moments later I hear I like to do things properly. Like what
How would sealed or draft work seeing as how you need a hero and not all packs have one
It's from a universal pool, like resources were in Spoils. Here it is from the official page:
"Players may add young hero and weapon card(s) of their choice to their card pool during deck construction. Cards added this way are from a publicly available pool of young hero and weapon token cards provided by the tournament organizer, or by pooling the token cards opened from the booster packs between all players in the event. (Young hero and weapon token cards are plentifully available in booster packs.)"

I died when you mentioned moribund 🤣😂🤣
Just discovered this game. Unfortunately can't afford those pretty playmats.
discovering it now
@@NimaSamari I love the concept of equipping characters. Like them Artifact decks in MTG
Great content as I just bought some flesh and blood cards.....watching you shuffle without sleeves makes me cringe though 🤣
Dorinthea totally looks like Natalie Dormer from Game of Thrones
This might be a trivial thing but can you play your spell first and then pitch to coat or do you have to pitch first.
Play then pitch
I'm late to the party on this. Do you need to pitch to generate resources to defend?
Only if it's a Defense Reaction, if you're blocking the initial attack with an action card or equipment, then no.
So Raid: Shadow Legends the card game. Lol I just tried this game today, was loads of fun!
Is that...*gasp* digital?!
What TWD cards are on that mug? Just curious! Miss that game all the time.
Kylo, Rey, and Temporary Truce! So thematic.
@@teamcovenant Love it! That's awesome. Will always have good memories of SW Destiny; which you guys were foundational for me getting into it!
Will unlimited be printed forever!! Hope not
Use your weapons more, boys! :)
Yes, help us!
Where did you get that playmat?? Can I has? 😂
Wait have you guys been living in the store and quarantining away from your family this whole time ?
Hah, not quite. We don't have kids, so our social group is each other + wives. That's it!
Ultimately
i cannot believe... they are rifle shuffling... what looks like flesh and blood first edition cards lol
This was before First Edition was even First Edition! Before Unlimited existed!
Meantime, you can check out Blitz Decks to get started!
why do u keep sealed product next to a coffe maker lol
Where do you get that playmat and rulebook 0_0? I see it everywhere but I can't find it anywhere, heck the blitz deck i bought didn't even have a rule book
Super early launch kit items - back at the start of Welcome to Rathe.
No 20 sided dice huh, easier to keep track of life.
Where did they get that nice sized manual they're using?
It's from an OP kit for retailers.
