- Today I test to see if its safe to cycle from Petaling Jaya to Kuala Lumpur City Centre... While the beginning is safe I won't recommend coming back via Federal Highway... Its just impossible... Will not be sharing the GPX because its dangerous.

Hi Melvin, you can ride to PJ to KL and back with no problem actually. From PJ if you exit the bike lane, take left turn and turn right at the 1st traffic light. Go straight you will reach Central Market. When going back to PJ, do not take the bike lane. Take the brickfields way and exit to the UOA Bangsar road and take the left underpass just before NPE. Turn right at the cross junction and head towards Pantai, UM and TM road. Turn right down to motorcycle Federal Highway.
If you take the bike lane back to PJ there is another way (actually). At the mini roundabout you need to exit through the bushes to Mid Valley, keep left up the road and cycle around the mall and go through the under pass, keep right which says bangsar. Then you will see a left bridge which brings you to the office blocks beside mid valley across the river. Turn left and make a right turn after to go around the carpark. When you almost complete 360 around the carpark take the ramp on your right to exit the building. You will reach the cross junction of the road heading straight to towards TM and UM thereby avoiding the whole UOA bangsar stretch thereby avoiding all the traffic.
Hope that helps
Wow this helps alot... Super thanks in taking the time to type out in detail.. Hope this helps others too..
@@melvintanchannel No problem Mel. Nice vid btw! keep it up
Hi bro, thanks for sharing the info
Nice video, remind me from Sri Petaling to KL n back. Have a supper at a restoran near Pudu Plaza before head back.
Your video make me wan to make another ride down to KL soon
LOL go for it.... Just chillax ride
Malaysia is really such a beautiful country
It is... 😊 But every country is nice when on holiday hahaha 😂
Thanks for the video, looking forward to cycle in KL some day :)
Best.... U will love it.... The city is pretty empty in the morning.
KL back to PJ -used Bangsar/UM back to the bike lane just before the KL Arch
Yup... Realise it today hahaha
Alternative route for KL to PJ will be brickfield-bangsar-pantai (climb abit) then cut thru UM to PJ.
Yea just observed my frens strava... Hahaha realised it this morning haish... But thanks for the comment
I've ride on Federal hiway from KL to Klang and go back to KL. Better ride on Sunday as less motorbike on the lane. Total milleage around 70 - 90km only depends where you go lepak2 makan in Klang.
Hahahaha we lepak so much no more visa end up 50km jher hahaha
When you were saying that it's dangerous to cycle back to PJ from KL, I was thinking about any alternate routes, I think if you can head from Brickfields to Jalan Bangsar and then go through UM probably can get back to PJ.
Yup..enter KL Gate of UM then exit at PJ Gate
Yup Bangsar is the way to go next time..
Tried that.. The guard refuse to let us in UM
Aiyoh wasted... Last time can cycle one and its beautiful...
Old klang road heading Puchong still bearable, heading KL is a big no no. A lot of intersection and car travelling fast.
Another way to get back to pj from old klang road is cut thru the river to bangsar south/pantai dalam via Back road behind TBM electrical shop. From there then can get to Jalan Gasing 😬
Thanks bro 😘 as always u r very helpful 😊
Yeah used to do night ride from kepong to kesas then loop back via OUG and OKR, nowadays too much construction on OKR.
actually when heading back from KL, once you hit brickfields area from the bicycle lane, take a detour to jalan bangsar via brickfields, use jalan bangsar to head to KL ecocity -> turn into jalan pantai (menara telekom & syabas office tat road), then from jalan pantai, go back on to federal highway to PJ bound, and you will have access to the motorbike lane again from ther.
or if from jalan pantai, you could also uturn into UM via UM KL entrance, and take a round within UM before you exit UM from PJ entrance.
Yea thanks bro.... Hopefully I got the chance to try again 😘
I have always wanted to try Federal Highway motorbike lane... interesting vid. tq
Welcome... Overall.... Going to KL is OK... Coming back is not OK unless u cut through Bangsar...
Finally new video after many days hahahahha
LOL started active 3 weeks ago bro after a long break
we shud do a ride from cheras to KL town and back......
Yea I did that a few times... That one ok I am more comfortable with that hahaha
Departing early from Petaling Jaya to Kuala Lumpur via Federal Highway. The highway is still quiet, so it can increase speed.
Yea thanks... Find out my friends return from Bangsar to Federal. Highway to PJ.... Safer...
it's me that shout at u near LRT masjid jamek...😂
OHHHHHHHHH hahaha hahaha I was wondering who hahahaha 😂😂😂 hello brother 👋👋👋👋
I live in ampang and always wanted to ride thru jalan ampang straight to klcc and around KL area but seeing the traffic there makes me kecut already. Cars so fast and crisscross here and there. Dangerous
Yea it is dangerous... Only do it if u have experience and during non peak hours... But that also have its risk...
Hi there, I’ve been doing it since 2017. I can say it is safe it’s absolutely fine.
Ampang have considerate drivers. Hahaha.
Also, since traffic is kinda congested, cars are actually slow along Jalan Ampang.
Alternatively, you can go off-Jalan Ampang, Jln U-Thant. This way, you will be able to cut through half of Jalan Ampang by exiting at Victoria’s Station Steakhouse.
RIDE SAFE & RIDE ON! 👍
@arif Fau thanks for contributing an excellent comment bro... It surely helps the community 😊
@@ariffau saw some night riders last weekend ride down Jalan U Thant to KLCC and don’t forget the yummy tandoori and naan bread opposite Ampang point.
Hello Mel! My name is Kevin and I am one of your subscribers from Dallas Texas. Do you set up rides with visitors on occasion? Ill be flying with my bike to KL in November and would love to ride with your group. Thanks for the great content!
Hey bro.... Will be hard to join my group as we are not familiar... Maybe u PM me in instagram and we work out something 😊
Sounds good!!
One thing that needed major improvements for KL as well as Klang Valley is the cycling lane. But then again, Im afraid it will be a waste of time and money. Do people really want to cycle in KL with the hot weather lol
Hahaha actually u be surprise alot of cyclist on sat and Sunday in KL
@@melvintanchannel Oh really. Interesting
I think it is crazy... I live in Damansara Perdana but can't even ride to TTDI or Desa Park or even Bukit Tunku... Riding to KL from my house would also be very dangerous.
There is a safer way, i've tried this a few times. From DP, you'll need to head to One Utama via Mutiara, Sunway damansara, Tropicana, then to BU. From BU you can get to TTDI and Mayor's hill safely. Note to Mayor's via Kiara park opens on Sundays only unfortunately via KLGCC --> Pusat Science, Damansara, Istana.
@@LukmanIbrahim so the KLGCC private club road is open to cyclist connecting TTDI and national science centre during Sunday only?
@@ericlim83 that's correct
@Lukman Ibrahim thanks bro... Have to try that hahaha 😘
@@melvintanchannel Np, silakan :) very hilly route
Hi Melvin. Do you think one could cycle from UM to Mont Kiara? I’m not sure which route to take without going through Sprint
Hmmmm month Kiara u have to cycle to Bangsar den to KL and probably cut through KLGCC if its allowed cuz its safer but possible.. I belif... Use Google map and ride with GPS to plot ur ride...
nice bro
Thanks 😊
4:27 - u will meet a famous barrista around that area kapihappys
Aiyah tak jumpa femus barrista 😅
Take the LRT or MRT back to PJ
Lalu depan ppum...masuk faderal lepas tu singgah Zainul Nasi Kandar dekat pj state🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Alamak nasinkandar best wei!!!!
🤣🤣🤣 the best in town

Hahahahaha avg speed 17kmph for 50km... Hahahahha 😂😂😂😂😂 I ly last 10km we accelerate
@@melvintanchannel 17kmph is so so moderate broter 😅😀😀😀
Hahahaha santai giler hahaha
I have tried coming back via federal highway from mayor hill. Let’s just say that I was tricked by a madman. 11/10 would not recommend.
Yea... Just learnt from my friend when return from KL to PJ to use Bangsar Road... Safer.... 😂
this time no bonk
Hahaha slow until bonk
i think kesas motor lane worse leh hands become numb memang 1
Hahaha
