In the midst of storm and strife the Lord provides oases of peace and calmness and an angel to lead us to them. Ben, you are truly doing the Lord’s work through your music and reflections. God protect you and keep you. From Ireland fondest greetings.🙏🇮🇪☘️
Ray (the organ donor) actually did check in on the recent video Ben produced -- in the comments section. He was thrilled to see the harmonium put to such good use.
This was truly lovely Ben. Thank you so much. I especially love it when you pair your music with poetry. This has added something special to my day 🙏🙏🕊😊
Thank you so much, Ben. I'm remembering a family member who could have had some of the most trying days, but never once-- not ever-- did he walk in the door in a bad mood and take it out on the family. He had an unfailingly pleasant demeanor, asked everyone how his/her day was, made jokes, showed sympathy and interest in everyone else's life. Was it because he was just a naturally happy person? I think that was part of it. But I also think there were days when that supportive personality was the result of a lot of self-control and love. True altruism is the result of a great deal of cheerfully saying "no" to self-centeredness. And I think you do a lot of that, Ben. Thank you.
It is a miracle how your Videos touch the deep layers of the soul. At a time when so many things out of control, your videos are an inspiration from above, as the good sheepherd bringung his flock together. Greetings from Germany
As a Christian believer I believe that this could be a for state of heaven as one of the thing we read is singing in heaven by the angels also the Jews had a choir in the temple so God like music thank you Ben this was so peaceful today I will play it again just to bring me to a peaceful rest before sleep
Ben, I had to listen 2 times. Truly soothing. And thanks again Mr Ray. Your gift has touched thousands this day. Ben I pray many blessings your way today!
What an oasis of comfort, peace and perspective, especially for those of us in the USA, immersed in political insanity! Musician, poet, mystic and seer: bless you, Ben for these moments of spiritual refreshment and inspiration 😇
The Greek word "πάθος" (pathos) means: experience, misfortune, emotion, condition, suffering… I think Beethoven masters music so well that he can make you transition from one feeling to another, even to its exact opposite. He's got the ability to make one become "compassionate" (a Latin word with that same Greek root), which means: to suffer with. Music is the art of conveying feelings through sounds. So, thank you, Ben, for letting us journey through different feelings with every video you make!
That is one sweet harmonium. Ben Maton is in the pantheon of the highest quality YT channels. I am sharing this channel. He deserves to have his praises shouted from the roof tops, but I will have to share him electronically instead...........
We are so used to the Mozart being belted out from a concert stage; I'm sure the master would have loved this gentle and contemplative reading on the humble organ!
Today I lived in the painful and sad memories of the past. Ben is an angel who sees into hearts..Beethoven's music is heartwarming with Ben's magical harmony playing. 😇🥲.Thank you for the tender moments of relaxation. May God bless and protect you in all your ways.🙏
Ben, thanks so much for bringing us these lovely moments of peace!! There are so many difficulties everywhere, but with your beautiful sounds we can enjoy some sweet rest. Thanks!
Ben, I've come to really appreciate not only your wonderful music but the reading of poetry. It is not often I can listed to poetry and I love it! Take care and have a great summer. DA (Vancouver, WA - USA)
Ben’s harmonium is being beautifully put through its paces with two famous pieces of classical music by Beethoven and Mozart. I remember, as an 18-year-old schoolboy, winning a piano prize playing Adagio Cantabile from Pathétique Sonata, composed by Beethoven when he was just 27 years old. O the great days in the distance enchanted!
The reed organ is not an easy instrument, there's so many things in playing technic that may cause annoying sounds when not handled, but you have managed to take over your tool rather quick and professional way. It sounds warm and relaxing, what a splendid evening concert. Thank you Mr Maton.👏🏼🎩 P.s. what your cat thinks about a new instrument in house? My chickens do love my reed organ's sounds. 😃
*Greetings Ben!* I would like to say thank you for getting me into organ music and recently inspiring me to start up a channel of my own. Sadly I am not an Organist so I had to ask my very own Church Organist Jo to play so I can upload them up on here. 😅 Me and Jo have become quite good friends! This year my Church that I go to (St Oswald's, Oswestry) is celebrating its 150th anniversary of the Victorian restoration and it would be amazing if you came down and played on our very own Hill organ in the future! God Bless, Chloë.
You are a magician, Ben Maton! How did you know that around the entire world there were so many people needing the calm and the quiet of heart your music and readings bring? There a timeless simplicity that makes your little harmonium sound so very special - and the way you coax the music from it. And as for the poetry - do you know DH Lawrence's "Piano"?
I’ll treasure this video for a long, long time. Two of my favorite melodies played on such an earthy and sweet sounding instrument. Thanks for making content like this!
This was absolutely wonderful and very relaxing. The combination of beautiful music, wonderful poetry and a tranquil scene was simply perfect. Thank you Ben.
What a welcome and beautifully relaxing end to Monday. Ben, if at all possible, please do give us more short and sweet gems like this! Thank you. The mix of poetry, music and scenery is really lovely.
Between the mellifluous music and your poetic recitation, tears welled up in my eyes. Thank you for the solace I find here. - Gord, a devoted fan in Winnipeg Canada
Beautiful! Such well chosen music! The late great organist of the famed (Mormon) Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, Dr. Alexander Schreiner, loved Beethoven. He not only recommended the slow movements for use on the organ or Harmonium, he had included them in his published organ music collections for church organists. Dr. Schreiner taught my uncle Paul😊I have Uncle Paul's book of J. Brahms chorale preludes, with Uncle Paul's pedal markings in red pencil, of all things. Mr Maton, you also know the real secret of reading rhymed poetry beautifully: read slowly, from the heart, as if it were prose: the rhymes then seem to happen naturally. The words themselves take care of the rhythm.😊
This is what we need today...the music, the poetry, the scenic views ...in a world fraught with political machinations, whether from Eastern Europe, western Europe and especially since from here in the US. Thanks, Ben!
Nice touch, just before going to work. When I lived in Cleveland, Ohio, a thousand years ago, there was a program on the local fine arts radio with the title "Music of the Masters," and this was the theme music for the program, played on piano. This piece almost always conjures up memories of my more idealistic youth.
Loved the clarinet concerto...i will look up to see if theres a paino arrangement of that and try to play it..and really nice word picture that matthew arnold painted ..just like thr one out the window where you were sitting.. Lovely and restful. Thanks for this dose of lovely things xx
Took me back to many evenings playing that Adagio, accompanied by a dear friend on piano - now long passed away. You've made this a lovely Monday evening, thank you.
It’s amazing how the harmonium’s tone pairs so well with the music written for clarinet… must be the reeds? Amazing sounds you’re producing with the new instrument, well done Sir!
Dear Ben, This is so beautiful; we enjoyed it very much, thank you. Your generous donor must be very happy listening to the magic that you created with it. May you be blessed with this portable reed organ such that hundreds, if not thousands can enjoy your talent. Kind regards from South Africa Dawie and Werner
Two lovely pieces. I'm inspired to learn the Adagio from Mozart's clarinet concerto and play it in church. I'll use the "reed organ" voice on the Yamaha organ (sadly we don' have a harmonium).
That was a nice surprise, Ben. Something different. I love it when you film there. It’s a lovely spot and the river is perfect. I sat out in my garden and watched your film. You are so lucky to have that place. My garden is beautiful and quiet. Lots of grass and flowers but unfortunately no peaceful flowing water!
Please keep these moments of relaxation coming. We’ll be needing them more in the next 4 -6 months in the US.
Thank you I will ❤️
Absolutely, we will need them here in the UK for the next 5 years if we are to stay sane.
In the midst of storm and strife the Lord provides oases of peace and calmness and an angel to lead us to them. Ben, you are truly doing the Lord’s work through your music and reflections. God protect you and keep you. From Ireland fondest greetings.🙏🇮🇪☘️
My pleasure 😊
I hope the gentleman who gifted you that organ is watching the magic you bring from it. 🙏

What a beautiful moment you’ve created for us, Ben. A secular Compline- many thanks!
Secular Compline- a fantastic expression!
If only Ray could've known how useful the old harmonium would become... hello to Billy, as well. Thanks and cheers.

Wonderful, just wonderful, Thank you! (I love the sound of your harmonium. What a joy to hear.)

🎉 Hey Ben ! Beethoven on the harmonium ! That is so cool. Nice one lad. Greetings from Cork, Ireland.
I 🧡 Beethoven. And last summer I got to see his birthplace in Bonn, Germany
Thank you, Ben!
Beautiful! The harmonium gives even Mozart a Tom Waits-y feel! And I am a fan of both - and Ben of course!

Thank you Ben, for another enjoyable video. Always a pleaure!
Delightful interlude!
That was lovely Ben, thank you so much. Ron Bennett.
A music historian (Karl Hass) in the 1970's had a radio show called "Adventures In Good Music", and he played the Beethoven piece as his theme song.
Rumor has it, Karl Haas (who was from Freiburg im Breisgau) played it himself, fresh for every broadcast!
@@der_Allsehende_Seher I think he was too modest to admit that that was exactly what he did.
@@kesmarn I agree. I miss his programs.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who remembers Karl Hass -

Early morning in Vanuatu....listening while I get ready for work. Blessings
