I:E should be set to 1:2 unless dealing with an obstructive issue which requires prolongation of the expiratory phase. 1:2 is physiologic. I dislike that the ZOLL defaults to 1:3.
Definitely! In order to do that, and it’s possible, you have to increase the upper pressure alarm limit to 100 cmh2o. At 60, it will ask you if you’re sure. It’s fine. The pressure generated because of the breath + compression will not hit the alveoli. It’s basically stopped at the alveolar duct. Make sure you’re in AC mode in “pressure”. Set the PIP to 25 bpm. You’ll get small tidal volumes but it’s fine.
@@emsamedicstudent Thank you. I had a cardiac arrest with a 30 minute transport time. LUCAS and Impact in place. Kept getting high PIP alarms at 65. Nothing I tried stopped the alarms. I noted when I stopped the LUCAS for various checks, the alarms stopped.
New job uses these. Great teaching.
Cute ventilator!!!! I love ventilators!!!!
Thank you, sir!

Thank you! Any reader friendly resources you can recommend?
Can simultaneous use with a LUCAS cause high PIP alarms during compressions?

What are the boxes on the bottom left? Are those customizable or are they developed settings from the patient?
They are values that result from the current settings.
@@emsamedicstudent are they important?
