    im doing a similar game in my exam but using oop and this is so massively helpful. our teacher doesnt allow us to ask questions (which heightens difficulty more since there isnt even a demonstration on how the game works or how the user is supposed to play it) and this video has just answered 60% of my questions. much luck to you and your students!!

      Thanks! Sorry your teacher doesn't do their job - answering questions is the best part of being a teacher!

      Well, I've always enjoyed coding personally. I'm a computer science teacher so I like to teach my students how to code. My UA-cam channel is something I started for my students - I'm really happy it has reached a much wider audience. Keep on codin'!

    When i'm stuck while programing a existing video game, I just play the video game to see how it works what i want to do, that's what I did, and i noticed that the game only "fill" the cells around the cell we clicked when the cell we click has no mines around that cell, I mean, the cell is empty, so I tried with a empty cell and the game fill the cells around, but when i run again the code with the modification you made (you deleted (count(row,col) == empty)) the game became crazy T_T xd

      That's a good strategy - I should have played Minesweeper more before trying this. On the plus side, with a little help from me, my student was able to get her version working.

      @@JP0001_GP I'm not really planning on continuing - the main parts are done so I'm happy with what is there.

      This is the only video in this particular series - I'd like to come back to it at some point.

    Don't label this as a tutorial if it's you making it up as you go, you don't seem to know what to do from the beginning, and therefore it's not fair for new users that were expecting a tutorial, as opposed to someone recording themselves doing a coding challenge.

    • @TokyoEdTech
      @TokyoEdTech  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback. You're right - live coding would be a better way to describe the content.
      That said, it's good for beginners to realize that people with more experience don't always know what to do - watching the process of experimenting, making mistakes, and fixing them is valuable. With a polished and complete tutorial you don't get to learn these skills.

      It teaches the thought process which is more valuable than a standard tutorial in my opinion. 😎
