Forging the Hunter's Knife from the game Destiny 2. Another commission, I am forging the knife out of 1084 high carbon steel.
The shape is about 90% forged to finish, with only a small amount of extra steel cut off. The large finger holes and central hole in the blade are all drifted by hand.

Neat! I'm excited to see the rest of this one. Also the sound of the drift caught in the hardy hole was really cool and now I want to get the small drift stuck in the small hardy hole too and then and play it. Musical anvils! :D

Oh geez, when you got the drift stuck. That must have been fun. :p Looking cool, it'll be interesting to see part two when you get it up!

Good build start, I would definitely get some angle iron and tap con anchors drill some holes in the floor and fasten that anvil in place. All the sliding around and wabbling is robbing a lot more energy than you'd think!

Thanks, glad you think so :) Also, good tip. I was aware at the time, but was still working out the layout of my shop and didn’t want to bolt it down yet. At this point I’ve got a heavier anvil on a nice chunk of stump that doesn’t move at all.

Thanks! That's good to hear. You may be in luck very soon. Don't tell anyone, but I'm practicing forge welding and damascus. After that video goes up I'll need to do something with the billets I make... :D

I think these types of videos are amazing, but they definitely could use some touch ups. I think muting the back round sounds and adding over some music while you speak would be better than just having the background sound. Also, I think you should be more assertive and confident in your speech so the viewer can fully understand that you know what you're doing and that this really is a piece of art. I personally enjoy metalworking videos and I look forwards to more of your content in the future!
