RustbeltRob, cool screen name - I take it you're in the Midwest. Yes, this house may be expensive, but it's the highest sale in Sayville, NY in over 10 years and the home is 5,500 SqFt with a cottage, 10 car garage, 4 CAC zones, gunite, heated salt-water inground pool and more. It's not your average home. We still have traffic, but I can tell you that it's pretty easy to land a job right now. I like getting feedback from my clients who leave Long Island as to how they like their new area. The Midwest has affordable homes, but I can't do those winters. How do you like the Midwest?

@@thebrynelliottteam winters are rough, but.. I was recently back to sayville and while the town is as beautiful as it was before i left, and honestly patchogue was unrecognizable, but most of the island looks hurt, tired, dirty and falling apart. I still don't know why property taxes are so high there, you'll get nothing for them. The LIE should just be dirt, it'd probably be smoother.. Lol.. Sadly it just doesn't feel like home anymore, really sad since my Italian family went from brooklyn to sayville, and now we're all in the midwest. I left that area 15 years ago, and found that everything i was taught in ny was bullshit.. I make more money out of ny than i did there, my home is paid for, in full, the schools are rated high, it's safe, clean, and roads are completely repaved every three years. My acre of land on a lake has a high 4k a year property tax. I spend my weekends on my boat, or skiing. I have a saving, new cars and my wife doesn't work. I do miss things like diners, delis, pizza, saying water like wutta.. And miss the car culture, but leaving there was the best decision of my life. But i do agree winters are cold.. ;)

@@rustbeltrobclassic2512 I took a look. Seems that you could easily spend $400k+ on a home, but you'd be getting something pretty nice and there are some more affordable options in the $300k range that are pretty decent homes. I'm sure the taxes are lower there. Sounds like there's great schools, it's close to Columbus, has lots of parks and outdoor activities. Pretty cool city.
