    Similar to how all cordless tool brands have to pay milwaukee due to their battery patent. Surely some company out there could come up with 3 improvements/differences

      I think it's more specific than that. Since Sony has to allow the device to work on the system even if someone found a way around the patent, they would block it from use on the system its designed for.

    Unfortunately, I don't really notice haptic feedback. I understand the difference, and I can feel the difference. If I purposely do something in a game just to experience hte haptic feedback, then I notice it. But if I am actually conccentrating on the game as a whole, the haptic feedback might as well be nonexistant. I am baffled whenever people claim that it adds to the level of immersion. I've been using dual sense controllers for over a year. Not anymore though. Both of mine are already broken. So I'm using a ~10 year old dualshock 4, which still works just as well as the day I got it. If you use the controller through the remote play app, you can use a dualshock with any ps5 game (not sure why they don't just allow those even without remote play, tbh). So I just run the app on my phone while using my TV. So far, I haven't experienced any input lag *knocks on wood*. Not trying to spend another $70 on something that breaks down after a year and is hardly ergonomic.

    Nice, never knew there was some type of relation there between Sony and MS. The haptic feedback on the PS5 controller is pretty wild though. Very informative video. #learnsomethingneweveryday

    why is there no option when playing FPS games to set restriction points on the triggers. seems a wasted opportunity

    • @GearsAndTech
      @GearsAndTech  2 роки тому +3

      If you have the trigger options turned on the software will actually set the stop point to be more like a clicky trigger.
      The downside is the stop point is not very firm, and so I was always clicking past it anyway
      Plus its only on Ps5 games. Ps4 games won't do it

    just tried playing uncharted Thieves collection on ps5 today, I found the Dual sense haptic feedback, eh...... how shall I put it..... underwhelming??? okay, I am so used to the old ps2, ps4, xbox360 rumble, those rumble feedback are full bodied, strong, impactful. however, the ps5 feedback feels like it has a multiple small little springs inside giving me multiple tiny springy vibration?? it feels OFF. for example, when I control a boat to ram into an enemy's boat, the feedback should be a strong rumble, but what I got is multiple little springs sensation!? is it even normal??
    OMG, I have been spending the last 15 years playing pc games, I just don't feel comfortable playing console game again.

      I feel the same exaxct way. Unless I am focusing all of my attention on the haptic feedback, I just straight up won't notice it. I suspect it is because of the controller's terrible ergonomics. I have arthiritis, and using a dual sense can very quickly lead to numbness and tingling in my hands. I have never experienced this with any other sony controller.

    I awalays turn off the adaptive triggers. Kind of annoying.

      Yeah. They are cool for experiential games. But otherwise it slows you down in competition play

    I can’t stand it. When me and my fiance got our PS5 one of the first things I turned off was the Haptics and Adaptive triggers.
    The LAST thing I want my controller to do when playing a game is move.

      I turn it all off as well for competitive games
      For experiential games I have them all on. It makes them much more immersive

      Yea immersion to me is the opposite lol I want to be IMMERSED into the game, not have a hand vibrator reminding me that I’m not in game.

    It is surprising how mutch bla bla this guy can make just to get over the 10 min mark.

      I appreciate the compliment
      10 minutes isn't the target though. Its only 8 minutes

    • @mercury374
      @mercury374 2 роки тому

      @@GearsAndTech thanks for the corection.
      why 8 min? i remember it used to be 10 mins where you could add more then one advertisement. Did they lower it or is there a different reason for 8 mins?

    • @GearsAndTech
      @GearsAndTech  2 роки тому

      I have a number of reasons for 8 minutes
      The youtube algorithm rewards videos by watch time. Not watch percentage.
      An 8 minute video will have a better chance at having higher watch time than a 4 or 5 minute video
      But also, yes, 8 minutes is the magic number where you can add mid roll ads. 7:59 or less and you get just before and after ads
      Its greedy I know, but my 8 minute + videos make a lot more money, which allows me to keep doing this
      I know im giving all my secrets away but it is what it is
      I also combat the video length by putting chapters in most my longer videos. That way anyone that wants to cut the chit chat can slide their mouse across the bottom of the video and find exactly what part they are most interested in
      I prefer you watch the whole thing because it does help the channel
      But also I find myself amusing, and I think once you guys get to know me you will agree too!

      Wow. Thanks for the honesty.
      I think we can only realy speak of greed if something is mutch less valuable to you than it is problematic for others and you still do it. I would not say that aplys to this video.
      Sometimes you repeat your self over and over saying the same thing in different words. I find that annoying and because it happens in parts I do find informative the timestamps do not realy help.

      I totally get what you're saying.
      Im trying to find the balance of having all the information in a way that people will understand. So I know I say the same thing different ways.
      This also cuts down on the questions I get afterwards.
      Its hard to do both, but not everyone understands it the same way
      Years ago I tried reading a Dr Phil book. He took 20 pages to say something that could be said in 1 paragraph. I ended up putting the book down because I figured it was made for dumb people.
      I know understand that its not that someone is smarter or dumber, its that when you hear it the way thats right for you then you understand it.
      Unfortunately it seems you understand it the first time, so you don't need to hear it the other ways.
      One day I'll start doing my videos with scripts to try and organize the content better. But this is still a one man show and this 'man' doesn't have enough hours in the day to do all that.
      Hope that helps. And I appreciate you sticking around!
