I love your channel because I never know what you're going to cover. Zap seems high up there in regards to usefulness like D-Dog in Phantom Pain or Huey in Haunting Ground.
this game is new to me, I liked the graphics, the sound, you said that the difficulty is fair in most of the game, maybe I will try to play it. That dog would make the MEGA MAN RUSH jealous.

Love this game. I used to rent it a tone then bought it, i had a dog that looked just like zap when i was very young i think that was the allure. Still have the game its still on my games to beat list. Great game.
A unique NES title... A nice prototype companion based game before companions became a common thing, not that they're that common even today. Imagine a 3D open world remake of this... Ok maybe not open world...

It really is to bad you miss out on the New Gameboy Color games like POWA! and Super Jetpak DX and Gameboy DMG titles like Dragon Born and Where is my Body? Gamebox Systems is selling a Consolizer kit for Color gameboy but I play on my Ali-Express Retroad 5 Plus with the GB/GBC Extension Converter. 7" Screen with HDMI out region free and 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio. Gameboy Player on gamecube is a great way to play too. I bought the ROM for Super Jetpak DX for my GB Everdrive X7 and will get POWA! when I can afford it along with the new secret MD game from Water Melon.
I know a lot of YT channels reviewing retro games. This is the best one. The depth and tone is perfect. The way each game is analyzed is detailed, but fun. Every comment is well thought and adds value. Congratulations on the work!!!
Really great video Pam, I have a profound love for this game. I remember renting the game on weekends around 1990. I didn't finished the game until late 90' playing on a emu! Overall, I like almost everything about the game. But when you get hit is really annoying!✌️🙂
Sweet, this is what I used the Nintendo Class Action Lawsuit coupon for back in the day. Thank you for bringing this classic back to the limelight. Also, the Select Button was used in part of an in game cheat system while simultaneously pressing the Directional pad.
I too love the unlimited continues, NES is clearly not an arcade game, so I never got why they made many of those games like you were putting quarters into the machine or something... still Love finding out about all these old school games I missed due to not having any internet or magazines to know about various games besides the standard classic (Zelda, Metroid, Mario Bros, Tecmo and NES pro wrestling and double dribble and blades Of steel and punch out of course

Great review Pam! Btw I hope that one day you will do a Metroid(NES) review. I've seen many people review it but I wanna see it get the Cannot be Tamed treatment. It has flaws for sure and it's archaic, but it was so well-designed and the gameplay is stellar.
I'm glad that I finally got a cartridge of Conquest of the Crystal Palace last year. I have some major nostalgia for this game from playing it at a rec center as a kid. Man, I had some good taste as a kid... Awesome game and awesome review!

Shame I never heard of this game. And sadly my good old faithful video store from the golden years of my childhood never had it. Just the title alone would have been enough to get my attention and by the looks of the gameplay I would had fond memories of that rather than tossing my controller over half the crap I rented.

Liar of the Hungry Ghosts on the Famicom version has dead babies/fetuses as the enemies and the background looks even more like the Scream painting. Probably changed for the better.
This game is good, the gameplay and even how it looks. The game's title is a litle funny too. I think Mega Man's friend Rush counts as a dog? But it's a robot, not sure. I've aways onedered why this game wasnt popular 🤔

This game has some excellent music and I like the Chinese theme. However the difficulty is extremely high and somewhat frustrating. I could never get far in this game no matter how many times I picked it up.

Same with “Shatterhand” and “Kabuki Quantum Fighter,” these were popular games, but a lot of retro game UA-camrs act as if these were obscure titles that nobody realized were good at the time. We knew!
Had a lot of fun with this game as a kid. After slogging through it, I found out there's a cheat that lets you max out everything, anytime you want. But don't use it, the game isn't particularly hard (and it's fair), so using the cheat just makes it boring.

Once in the game, you can then hold select + for an effect. Wait--holy carp, *THAT'S* why they had the weird PITA activation for Zap and items--the Select button was already secretly used for the cheat code. Mystery solved, Scoob!
Oh boy, alongside with Sword Master, Conquest of the Crystal Palace is one of my favorite games on NES. I made an article many many years ago about this game, and found the "continue" screen very original, at the point that when I wanted to give up, I ended up continuing only for not to leave my dog helpless . On a side note, I recommend you to play the Japanese "Mitsume ga Tooru" (the final boss is pretty impressive). Thanks for the video and Happy Valentine's day.

I loved this game as a kid.
The music from the second level is one of my standards on piano and a great example of pentatonic music.
I just ordered a OSD Gameboy Color kit and guts from Ali-Express. 4X the pixel ratio with Retro pixel effect. I am ordering POWA! soon.

This game is great. It's up there with my fave NES games like The Guardian Legend and SMB 3.

This game scared me when I was a kid. When you make the shopkeeper angry her face becomes distorted. It scared me as a child.
